Chapter 68 Decline the Offer
Genesis's POV
I'd just come back from outside when I saw Forth and Eli sitting on the living room sofa. Eli's face was so dark it could drip water.
He frowned and beckoned me over. "Genesis, come here."
Seeing his murderous expression, my heart slowly sank. Something bad was about to happen.
I moved my feet slowly, constantly glancing at Forth, hoping he could give me some hint.
But Forth looked just as confused. He clearly didn't know what was going on either.
The short distance felt like walking to an execution. The moment I got close to Eli, he grabbed my wrist with sharp eyes.
"You're making eye contact with him right in front of me? Can't you two lovebirds bear to be apart?" Eli said through gritted teeth.
What was he talking about? What lovebirds?
I looked at Forth in confusion and quickly gestured to Eli: \[You misunderstood! It's not what you think!\]
"Misunderstood?" Eli angrily pressed me down onto the sofa, his eyes full of violent rage.
This was the first time I'd seen Eli show such an expression in front of me. He looked like he wanted to kill me. I couldn't help but shrink back, terrified.
Seeing something was wrong, Forth quickly stepped forward to mediate. "Sir, Genesis and I aren't what you think! We're not a couple. I just have one-sided feelings for her!"
So Eli had misunderstood my relationship with Forth.
I quickly signed to Eli: \[I don't like Forth. We're not a couple.\]
Forth nodded repeatedly. Before I could feel relieved, I heard him say, "Even if we were dating, you can't punish Genesis for it!"
My heart jumped. Did he know what he was saying?! Saying this now would only make Eli angrier!
Sure enough, Eli stared at me mockingly and said word by word, "Really? If there's nothing between you, why did you both apply to universities overseas?"
His tone was light, but it hit my ears like thunder.
He knew!
He knew about my escape plan!
My heart was beating so hard it might burst from my chest. I stared at Eli with wide eyes.
Eli smiled cruelly and gripped my face hard.
The sharp pain couldn't wake my senses. My mind was full of panic and terror about my exposed plan. I didn't even hear Eli's heavy question.
"You like him?"
Seeing no reaction from me, Eli thought I was admitting my feelings in front of him. He angrily raised his fist.
I closed my eyes in fear, waiting for the punch to land on my face.
Bang!
I opened my eyes in shock. Eli had punched the sofa back hard, staring at me like a wounded beast.
Forth immediately rushed forward and grabbed Eli's wrist. "Sir, if you keep this up, I'm calling the police!"
"Police?" Eli had found an outlet for his emotions. He slowly stood up straight, looking down at Forth. "Go ahead. I'd like to see if the police dare interfere with my business."
Of course they wouldn't dare.
Even if Eli killed Forth and me right here, those cops would just close the case as an accident.
Forth clearly realized this too. His face turned red, but he still wouldn't back down, stubbornly holding Eli's arm.
"You're just Genesis's uncle! Her affairs aren't for you to decide!"
After his words fell, the room went silent for a moment.
Eli slowly began to laugh.
His gray-blue eyes held no humor, only towering rage and undisguised killing intent.
"Uncle? Not for me to decide?" Eli repeated Forth's words.
His expression was so terrifying that I had no doubt he might pull out his gun and shoot Forth right now. He was from the Martinez family, famous for killing without blinking!
I frantically tugged at Eli's arm, quickly signing: \[Don't argue with Forth! The school application was my choice...\]
I wanted to tell Eli I really didn't like Forth, but before I could finish signing, Eli used his right hand to clamp both my wrists and raise them high above my head.
Seeing this familiar position, I panicked and struggled desperately to break free from his grip.
But Eli's hand was like a vise. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't budge him at all.
Eli looked back at Forth with an extremely cruel smile. "Uncle? Have you ever seen an uncle do this to his niece?"
Without giving me a chance to struggle, Eli kissed me hard!
This was different from every kiss before. Eli crushed against my lips like a madman, forcibly making my tongue tangle with his. He forced me to tilt my head back, his teeth raking across my lips without restraint, leaving bite marks!
I could even taste the faint metallic flavor of blood in my mouth!
His burning lips left mine and kissed my cheeks again and again, then my neck. He even seemed to be going lower!
I struggled frantically and pushed him away with all my strength!
Eli stood beside me, placing one hand on my shoulder and looking at Forth provocatively.
I was finished!
All my efforts and plans collapsed in this moment. I clearly saw the shock on Forth's face.
My relationship with Eli had been discovered.
Tears instantly fell from my eyes. How much careful preparation and planning had I done to escape the Martinez family, to escape Eli?!
I was so close! So close to success, but it all turned to bubbles at the last moment!
Forth pointed at us with trembling fingers, his eyes red but unable to say anything.
Eli stared at him viciously. "Get out! Don't appear in front of her again! Otherwise, the bullets in my gun don't have eyes!"
Forth stumbled backward, crashing heavily into the sofa with a loud noise.
But he seemed completely unaware of the pain, staggering as he ran out.
Everything was over.
I lay on the sofa like a broken doll, tears streaming down my face. How could I go to school anymore?
Eli sat beside me and gently wiped away my tears, but his voice sounded like a demon's.
"Neither Forth nor Novien University of Technology is allowed. Even if you don't like me, it doesn't matter. I just need you by my side."
He pulled me up to sit, then had the maid bring over a laptop.
He forced me to log into my email and watched as I declined the offer from Novien University of Technology that I'd just received. Only then did he show an extremely cruel smile.
He looked at me coldly. "I'll call your teachers to ask for leave. Don't go to school for a while."
Hearing this, my mechanical movements finally stopped.
Eli stroked my hair and continued cruelly, "I won't let you keep in touch with Forth. Just stay by my side."
I understood his meaning in despair. I had completely become a canary locked in his cage, never to see freedom again.
