Chapter 38 Swap Secretly
Genesis's POV
"Genesis? You're back!I've been worried about you. Why did you come back so late?"Susan asked me.
I stammered and looked at her, forcing a dry laugh while gesturing: \[I ran into some trouble today. Delilah and I were kidnapped.\]
I couldn't control myself, constantly glancing toward my bedroom door.
A minute ago, just as Susan was about to come upstairs, I had opened the door and pushed Eli inside.
He was so close to being discovered by Susan!
I couldn't imagine what a terrible scene it would be if Susan saw me kissing Eli!
"Kidnapped!" Susan immediately grabbed my hand nervously. "Are you okay? How could you be kidnapped out of nowhere?"
Susan anxiously questioned me. I had to briefly tell her what happened.
My hand pressed tightly against the door, constantly praying that Eli would behave and not make any noise.
But just as I was about to answer, someone pulled the door handle!
My heart immediately jumped to my throat!
I quickly grabbed the door handle, looking nervously at Susan.
"What happened next? How did it end?"Susan saw me suddenly stopped and asked.
All my attention was on the door handle!
That crazy Eli kept turning the handle, as if he wanted to open the door and come out!
I pressed almost my entire body against the door handle, nearly crying from anxiety!
Fortunately, Susan finally noticed something was wrong with me. She patted my shoulder comfortingly. "Poor child, you really were frightened. You should go rest quickly. We'll talk tomorrow."
After saying this, she gave me a hug and turned to go downstairs.
My tense emotions finally relaxed. I slumped against the door handle, my forehead covered in cold sweat.
It was all that crazy Eli's fault! If he hadn't suddenly gone insane, I wouldn't have been scared like this!
Just then, Eli opened the door and walked out.
Seeing me scared and slumped on the ground, he looked at me mockingly. "Little mute, your courage is smaller than an ant's! So what if she saw us? She's just a maid."
The release of tense emotions made me impulsive and angry. Without thinking, I stood up and slapped Eli!
Eli's expression immediately turned ugly. He stared at me silently.
I instinctively shrank back, remembering that Eli was a vicious mafia member.
But thinking about how I was almost scared to tears just now, I gritted my teeth and straightened my chest to meet his gaze!
Eli laughed angrily, reaching up to pinch my chin. "What are you going crazy about now? Have I been too indulgent with you?"
\[Why did you do that?! What if the family found out?!\] I angrily poked at my phone, shoving it in front of Eli.
Eli sneered. "Let them know. Do I need their permission for what I do?"
He was really crazy!
If we had been seen by others just now, as Don Martinez's most beloved youngest son, he certainly wouldn't face any consequences. The one who would bear everything would only be me!
I gritted my teeth: \[I don't want this weird relationship with you, and I don't want anyone to know about it!\]
Eli dangerously narrowed his eyes, pinching my chin and staring at me. "I'll give you one more chance. Take back those stupid words."
I turned my head away, refusing to meet his gaze.
Eli forcibly turned my head back. "I like you, so I want to be with you."
I stared in shock, unable to believe what I heard.
Eli actually liked me?
I always thought he was just planning to play with me!
"When you get into Walton University, I'll buy you a house in San Aurelia. I'll visit you often. We'll be sweet lovers." Eli smiled as he described the future he had planned.
Eli wanted me to be his mistress. That's how the mafia treated their mistresses, buying a house outside to keep their lovers in.
Eli pulled me into his arms, pinching my face repeatedly, his voice surprisingly gentle. "Good girl, don't worry. I'll take care of everything. I'll arrange your life well."
I lowered my eyes, hiding the mockery in them.
What he said was just telling me to be his obedient and docile mistress. I thought the reason he targeted me was probably because he saw how obedient I was in the Martinez family.
Seeing that I hadn't objected, Eli smiled. "Good girl."
He kissed me approvingly. I gestured to tell him I was too tired today and wanted to sleep.
Eli looked at me deeply, planted a hard kiss on my lips, then reluctantly let me go. "Go ahead."
After Eli left, I immediately locked the door and jumped onto the bed.
Although my body was exhausted to the extreme, I couldn't fall asleep.
I didn't want to become Eli's mistress. I had to find a way to make him lose interest in me! Anyway, he usually changed girlfriends like changing clothes. As long as I made him dissatisfied, he would quickly get tired of me!
Only one semester left. I had to safely get through it and stay away from the Martinez family!
My phone suddenly buzzed. It was a message from Eli: \[I'll personally drive you to school tomorrow morning.\]
Now I couldn't sleep at all!
As soon as dawn broke, I quickly packed my things. I didn't even wait for Susan to call me for breakfast before leaving for school.
The first class was Calculus. I had just entered when I received a text from Eli: \[Why didn't you wait for me?\]
I breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, I left early enough, or I would have run into him.
\[I fell asleep last night and didn't see the message. I came to school early this morning for duty.\]
I thought about it and added another message: \[Since you're injured, you don't need to drive me.\]
I acted considerate and understanding. He shouldn't give me trouble.
Eli didn't reply. I stuffed my phone back into my backpack, hoping he would quickly lose interest in me!
