Chapter 35 Dangrous
Eli's POV
I tensed my neck and suddenly leaned back hard, crashing heavily into Gage's stomach.
Gage loosened his grip in pain. I seized the opportunity to surge up, standing with the chair, and delivered a spinning kick to his stomach, forcing him back. Then I turned sideways and crashed the chair into a pillar. The chair immediately shattered into pieces.
"You're asking for death!"
Gage and his brothers immediately reacted, gripping their guns and pressing them to my forehead.
Delilah screamed out. "Eli! You absolutely cannot get hurt!"
I glanced in her direction. Sure enough, Genesis also tensed up nervously, looking at me with concern.
At least she had some conscience.
"You still dare to resist! The entire warehouse is full of my people. I don't believe you can escape from here." Gage smiled sinisterly. "Eli, you lost."
I wasn't panicked at all.
From the very beginning, I had prepared backup plans.
"Is that so?" I calmly dusted off my clothes and pressed my finger against Gage's gun barrel. "Maybe you should have someone go outside and take a look."
My attitude was too relaxed. Gage exchanged glances with his subordinates. One subordinate immediately ran outside.
Before long, he ran back in panic. "Underboss, they captured Daisy and Otto!"
"What!" Gage shouted in disbelief.
Seeing him so panicked, I knew I had won the bet.
When I was hunting Gage, I had already sent people to capture his mistress and child hidden abroad.
Gage's hand holding the gun trembled, then he forced a cold laugh. "Just a mistress. Compared to the Nguyen family, she means nothing."
I chuckled softly and gripped his gun barrel. "Hold your gun steady before talking."
"Gage! If you don't want your mistress to die, let me go!" Delilah shouted triumphantly. "Otherwise I'll have Eli kill your mistress and child, then have my brother destroy your Nguyen family!"
"Shut up!"
Gage signaled his subordinate, who immediately stepped forward and slapped Delilah.
I was speechless. I never expected that in this situation, Delilah would still provoke Gage. Was she worried she wasn't dying fast enough?
"She's still the Nelson family princess. Don't go too far." I dryly intervened.
Gage gritted his teeth and glared at me. "Just a woman. As long as I get out alive, how many women can't I have?"
His killing intent didn't diminish, but I wasn't afraid at all.
"Five years ago, when this woman got pregnant, Don Nguyen told you to abort the child, but you secretly sent him away and had people protect her so she could give birth."
"Four years ago, when your wife discovered them, Don Nguyen forced you to kill the child and mistress to appease your wife. After all, your wife is a Smith family princess. But you secretly sent them abroad to raise them."
"You betrayed your family again and again for this woman and child. Do you really think the family is more important than them?"
While speaking to break down Gage's psychological defenses, I inconspicuously glanced at Genesis.
Her coat was covered in dark red blood. She huddled in the corner like a little mushroom, her vigilant gaze occasionally sweeping over others. She looked pitiful yet amusing.
I quickly withdrew my gaze, not wanting others to notice my attention to her.
Only this way would she be safe.
"Eli, you must save me!" Delilah noticed my gaze and thought I was looking at her, shouting excitedly.
I had to admit, Delilah looked truly miserable now. For the dignified Nelson family princess to fall to this state, I could only say she was really stupid.
Gage's expression was extremely ugly. Not only that, his subordinates obviously knew these things, and their looks toward Gage carried more dissatisfaction.
This was interesting.
I forcefully pressed Gage's handgun and pulled it outward. Gage indeed excitedly pulled the trigger. "So what?!"
His eyes stared at me deadly, revealing some crazed expression. "Even if I release you now, you won't spare us! Might as well die together now!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly lifted his foot and attacked me.
I jerked backward, dodging his attack, and grabbed his ankle, kicking his kneecap.
Gage grunted and swung the gun butt hard at me. I forcefully grabbed his ankle. He staggered two steps with his aim off, and I punched him hard in the stomach.
Gage screamed and retreated two steps, tremblingly pointing the gun at me again.
I shrugged and pointed at his lips. "Wipe the blood from your lips."
Gage was extremely disheveled, roaring angrily. "You release me, I'll let you leave with your fiancée. We'll be even!"
I saw Genesis in the corner suddenly raise her head, staring at me tensely, as if worried I would only save Delilah and not her.
This heartless little mute.
Did she really think I was such a cold-blooded person?
Although I was indeed like that when facing others.
But she had offended me so many times, wasn't she still living well?
"Even if I let you leave, are you sure you can escape?" I stared into Gage's eyes and asked back.
Gage indeed panicked, gripping his gun tightly. "What do you mean?"
I raised my watch and looked at it. "It's been 37 hours since I started hunting you. Your Nguyen family people have never appeared. San Aurelia is Nguyen family territory, isn't it?"
Everyone present wasn't stupid. Hearing me point this out, everyone's expressions changed.
The subordinates looked at each other in panic, discussing in low voices.
Gage roared. "This is impossible! You're sowing discord!"
I calmly took a chair and sat down, as if I wasn't facing a row of dark gun barrels but a pile of lollipops.
Gage was furious, gripping his handgun and taking two steps toward me. "Eli, don't be too arrogant!"
"I'd like to comfort you, but the fact is, we never intercepted any Nguyen family people." I lit a cigarette and blew out smoke. "Unfortunately, you've been abandoned."
Don Nguyen didn't have just one child, Gage.
Gage had repeatedly violated Don Nguyen's orders and betrayed the family for his mistress and child, which had long made Don Nguyen very dissatisfied.
Plus this failed confrontation with our Martinez family, now even trapped in this shabby warehouse by me, it was completely reasonable for Don Nguyen to abandon him.
"An hour ago, Don Nguyen already had your brother James take over family affairs." I smiled mockingly. "You should understand what this means, right?"
"No!" Gage had completely lost it. He pointed his handgun at me while retreating. "You must be lying! How could Don Nguyen abandon me?"
I looked at him with pity, saying nothing.
Clearly he was the one holding the gun, but now he looked like an abandoned stray dog, disheveled and crazed.
"I don't believe it!" Gage looked at me frantically. "This is all your fault! Might as well die together!"
He laughed maniacally toward the sky and pulled the trigger at me.
Bang!
