Chapter 87 Parents' Death
Delilah's POV:
I immediately became alert and tried to avoid her, pretending not to recognize her as I quickly prepared to leave.
But Maria reached out and grabbed my wrist.
"What are you doing?!" I lowered my voice and questioned her, afraid that Eli would discover my presence.
Maria glanced at the situation in the hospital room and smiled meaningfully.
"Don't worry, I won't tell Eli and Genesis that you're still alive." She patted the back of my hand reassuringly, signaling for me to leave with her first.
I hesitantly looked at her back, then at the bodyguard behind her who was staring at me. I had no choice but to follow.
We reached the hospital garden, and Maria pulled me to sit in a secluded corner.
She asked me bluntly, "Do you want revenge?"
"Of course I do." I said with a twisted expression. That bitch had caused me to end up like this. I would never let her go.
But I still kept my rationality. "But I can't do it."
Jacob was dead, and the Nelson family was gone. I was no longer the high and mighty mafia princess. Forget about revenge. With such serious injuries, I probably couldn't even afford medical bills.
What could I use for revenge?
But Maria became excited. "Don't worry! I can help you!"
"You'll help me?" I looked at her suspiciously. "Are you really that kind?"
Maria thought of something, and her expression became venomous.
She said hatefully, "I also want that bitch dead! If it weren't for her, why would my mother be forced to kneel and beg? She even dared to threaten me! I want her life!"

"I'll send you to another hospital first to treat your injuries. Don't worry, I'll pay for the medical expenses." Maria stood up, and I naturally followed behind her.

Genesis's POV:
I suddenly opened my eyes. The bone-deep fear seemed to still linger.
After a while, I realized I was lying in a hospital room.
Was all of that just a dream?
Eli gripped my hand at this moment and asked nervously, "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? Why did you suddenly faint?"
I wasn't dreaming!
I really saw the person who killed my parents!
I sat up stiffly, gripping Eli's hand tightly!
I never dreamed that man would appear so suddenly! Thinking of the scene where he opened the car door for Savannah, my breathing became rapid. What was his relationship with Savannah?
Bloody memories kept flashing back. Endless hatred surged from my heart. I wanted to kill that man right now!
Eli didn't understand why I suddenly became agitated. Thinking my body was still uncomfortable, he frowned and wanted to call a doctor.
I quickly stopped him. "I'm fine..."
A hoarse voice escaped from my throat. I was immediately stunned!
I looked at Eli in confusion. His face showed the same shock as mine!
"You... just spoke?" Eli nervously moved closer to me, his eyes full of excitement and surprise.
I opened my mouth and slowly said two words. "Yes."
"Baby! You're amazing!"
Eli excitedly hugged me and kissed my lips hard.
The familiar scent enveloped me, and I gradually came to my senses, my eyes reddening.
I could speak!
I smiled brilliantly with joy. After years of suffering from being unable to speak, I could finally talk!
All the mockery and sarcasm I endured for not being able to speak quickly disappeared at this moment. My heart felt like I had drunk a whole bottle of honey sparkling water, full of sweet bubbles!
I was no longer a little mute!
But as I smiled, tears also fell.

Eli suddenly picked me up and carried me outside.

"Taking you for an examination!" Eli said with a smile.
Soon, he carried me to the office of the specialist from last time and had him examine me.
After the doctor gave me a detailed examination, he joyfully said everything was normal and I had completely recovered!
Eli's smile deepened, then he frowned slightly. "But her voice is very hoarse, not quite what I imagined..."
I glared at him irritably. Did my voice have to match his imagination?
The doctor explained with amusement, "That's because she hasn't spoken for too long. It'll get better after she adapts for a while."
"This is truly God's blessing." Eli cupped my face and rubbed it affectionately. "You need to talk to me more."
I helplessly agreed, not understanding why Eli was so happy.
Coming out of the doctor's office, I tentatively asked Eli, "I saw a man picking up Maria today. Maria called him uncle? But I remember her uncle wasn't this person?"
Because of Savannah's disgust toward me, she almost never let me appear in front of her family members. The last time I saw Maria's uncle was several years ago, but I was sure it wasn't the same person.
Eli frowned and thought for a while before explaining, "What you saw today should be her youngest brother. He's been following Christian and helping him with business. It wasn't until the year before you came to the Martinez family that he returned to his own family and became the family head.
He usually operates in Africa. This time he probably came back because of Savannah's divorce."
At this point, he looked at me seriously. "Did he do something to you?"
