chapter 78 Be Found

chapter 78 Be Found

Genesis's POV:

I returned to the hospital carrying the cupcakes I had made.

Before entering the room, I looked down at the beautifully packaged cakes. Eli should be happy now, right?

As soon as I walked in, I sensed something was wrong with the atmosphere.

Eli sat gloomily on the sofa. Walker, Inigo, and the others around him all looked extremely serious, as if something bad had happened.

I instinctively slowed my steps, considering whether I should go out and wait for them to finish talking before coming back in.

But unexpectedly, Eli pointed at me and said coldly, "Take her with us."

I panicked and stepped back, quickly signing to Eli: [What happened?]

Eli didn't even look at my sign language. Walker and the others weren't as polite as before either. They roughly grabbed my hands and forced me toward the door.

I was terrified, struggling constantly and trying to ask Eli what was wrong. But Walker and the others gave me no chance, half-dragging me out of the room.

During the struggle, the cupcakes in my hands fell to the floor.

I looked back and saw Inigo pushing Eli's wheelchair, rolling mercilessly over the cupcakes.

The cupcakes were crushed to pieces, sticking to Eli's wheelchair wheels. He didn't even spare them a glance.

I sadly looked away.

Five minutes ago, I was still fantasizing about repaying Eli a little before leaving. But now, I was jolted awake by reality.

Eli didn't need my surprises.

Would a master on high need surprises from a canary? No, he only needed the canary's obedience.

I wasn't a canary, and I shouldn't have foolishly prepared surprises for Eli.

I was roughly shoved into the back seat. Eli also sat beside me with a cold face.

The coldness radiating from him terrified me. Suddenly, the scene from that day when I saw him casually kill that woman from the tree flashed through my mind.

Human life meant nothing to Eli.

Perhaps Eli's gentleness during this time had made me forget that he was the most powerful mafia member of the Martinez family.

Even if he really killed me, no one would object.

I kept recalling everything before leaving the hospital, not understanding why Eli suddenly became so angry.

I signed to him: [What exactly happened? Where are you taking me?]

No matter how I gestured and tried, Eli completely ignored me, sitting coldly to one side.

I nervously hugged my legs, curling up in the corner of the car seat, thinking fearfully.

What was wrong?

Eli had been fine before I left. Why did he seem like a different person after just a few hours?

His sudden coldness made me afraid and panicked. I secretly observed his expression but couldn't read anything.

Only now did I understand that the Eli I had seen before only showed me the emotions he wanted me to see.

If he didn't want to, he wouldn't let anyone guess his intentions.

Soon, the car stopped.

I looked at the scene outside the window and immediately turned pale with fear.

It was the warehouse where they played Russian roulette!

Sofia's screams from last time seemed to still echo here. Was Eli going to put me on the wheel this time?

I looked at Eli trembling, trying to rush toward the car door when he wasn't paying attention.

But Eli had no intention of letting me go. He quickly reached out and clamped my wrist, pulling me back forcefully.

I stumbled backward, my ankle hitting the door frame hard.

The sharp pain made me gasp, tears welling up in my eyes.

I looked at Eli through blurry eyes, but he didn't spare me an extra glance, dragging me to stumble alongside his wheelchair.

My ankle throbbed with piercing pain, but I couldn't care about that anymore.

I frantically tried to pull my wrist free, but Eli's hand clamped around me like a vise. I couldn't escape at all.

Walking into the warehouse, I saw a bloody man hanging in the center. The heavy smell of blood immediately hit me.

I trembled with fear, instinctively wanting to hide behind Eli.

But Eli's icy gaze pinned me in place.

He forcibly turned my head, forcing me to stare at the man.

His voice was cold as ice. "This is the person who betrayed me during the last camping trip. He sold my whereabouts to the rival family, which led to our attack. Take a good look."

Crack!

Walker walked forward with a cold face, picked up a whip from the ground, and lashed it hard across the man's body!

"Ah!" The man immediately screamed, wailing loudly. "Boss! I was wrong! Please spare me! I was just confused for a moment!"

Eli sneered coldly. Walker lashed him again!

I was so scared I closed my eyes, not daring to look anymore.

But the sound of Walker's whip and the man's screams seemed to drill into my ears deliberately.

My legs went weak. I almost had to lean against the wheelchair to keep from sliding down.

My tears rolled down drop by drop. I didn't understand why Eli brought me to see this.

Did he want to continue that ridiculous treatment method from last time?

Or...

Thinking of other possibilities, I shuddered and couldn't help imagining myself hanging there being whipped!

It was too terrifying! I didn't want to die here like this!

Just then, I heard the sound of something heavy hitting the ground, followed by dragging sounds.

Eli's cold voice also rang out. "Open your eyes. Don't make me do it myself."

Why was he treating me like this!

I clutched my clothes tightly, not daring to open my eyes.

But I knew that if I didn't obey Eli, I would only face more terrible treatment.

Gritting my teeth, I slowly opened my eyes.

It was that man!

I screamed in terror, feeling as if I was back to the day when Lennon abused me!

The man was already lifeless, dragged in front of me, his bloody face with wide-open eyes staring at me!

I fell to the ground, crawling backward in panic and embarrassment.

I didn't want to stay here anymore!

I was so scared!

Eli suddenly reached out and grabbed my face, laughing with extreme mockery.

"So you're this cowardly?" He looked down like a venomous snake flicking its tongue. "You're so afraid, but when you betrayed me, why didn't you think about how I deal with traitors?"

Like a thunderbolt striking my head, I looked up at Eli in disbelief.

He knew?

He knew I was the one who sent that video?
