Delilah's POV
Aunt Rona and Rogen exchanged a quick glance. They grabbed Sofia and rushed out.
I kept my face ice cold as I had someone set up Genesis's photos. I fired over a dozen shots at them. That barely cooled my rage.
I wasn't doing this for Sofia's revenge. I just wanted to kill that bitch Genesis.
How disgusting was she? She wouldn't even spare her own uncle. And she dared to seduce Eli!
I wouldn't let any woman who dared get close to Eli live. They all deserved to die.
I kicked the photo stand over hard. It crashed to the floor. I dropped back onto the sofa.
If that bitch wasn't Christian's adopted daughter, I would have grabbed my gun and stormed the Martinez villa. I would have killed her on the spot.
But I couldn't do that.
I forced down my fury. I made myself calm down.
If I charged into the Martinez family to kill someone, that would be an open challenge to them. My engagement to Eli would be ruined.
That's why I had Sofia teach that bitch a lesson instead.
I just never expected Eli to turn around and punish Sofia for her sake. Just thinking about it made my killing intent impossible to suppress.
I let out a long breath. Another face suddenly flashed in my mind.
Savannah!
If anyone in the Martinez family wanted Genesis dead, it had to be her.
Maybe she'd be happy to help me kill this illegitimate daughter.
With that thought, I called Savannah.
"Delilah?"
Savannah sounded shocked to get my call.
After all, because of the bad blood between Eli and Christian, I'd never given her a kind look. Let alone called her first.
"Do you want that mute dead?" I asked directly.
"Are you crazy? She's my adopted daughter." Savannah clearly didn't believe me. She deliberately refused.
I smirked. My eyes filled with mockery.
Everyone in the Martinez family knew Savannah had been tormenting Genesis. When had she ever treated that bitch like a daughter?
"This chance only comes once. If you won't tell the truth, we don't need to work together." I was about to hang up impatiently when Savannah stopped me.
She asked hesitantly, "Did you just say work with me?"
"Yes." I glanced down at my manicure. "I'm willing to team up with you to kill that mute."
"Why?" Savannah pressed.
My breathing got heavier. My voice carried killing intent. "Because she dared to seduce Eli! No one can steal Eli from me! I have to kill her!"
Savannah fell silent.
"I'm in!" Maria suddenly appeared by the phone and answered loudly. "Mom, what are you hesitating for? This is a great chance! Uncle defended her earlier and Grandpa scolded me! I can't swallow this!"
Savannah wavered.
She asked me seriously, "Do you really dare to kill Genesis?"
"She's just an adopted daughter." I sneered. "She dared seduce Eli, so she deserves to die! Don't worry, you don't need to get your hands dirty. You just need to help me!"
"Fine. I agree." Savannah also agreed.
I knew she would agree. Once we killed that bitch, I'd slice her flesh piece by piece to feed the dogs! Let's see if she dares seduce Eli again!
Just imagining that scene made me feel great!
"Can't do it in Valleria City. This is Martinez family territory. We need to find another place." I frowned.
Savannah quickly thought of a solution. "I'll use my position as a school board member to have the school organize a class trip to a city. How about San Aurelia? That's Nguyen family territory."
That was a good idea!
The Martinez and Nguyen families had no cooperation. Perfect for me to make my move!
"No problem! Remember to tell me once you set the time." I said this quickly and hung up.
Didn't Genesis always use that face of hers to play pitiful? I'd destroy her face with my own hands, then watch her despair as I killed her!
No one could compete with me for Eli. No one!
Genesis's POV
The fever made everything hazy. I seemed to return to my childhood.
I slowly walked into the familiar yet strange living room. I saw a couple dancing gracefully in the center. Tears immediately rolled down my face.
Those were my birth parents.
My dad Alden and mom Emma were embracing intimately. When they saw me come in, they both smiled at me. "Geni, you're here! Our little sweetheart!"
Mom came over and picked me up. That familiar warmth made me cling to her. I buried my head deep in her neck.
"I missed you so much, Mom."
Dad and Mom took me all the way to the beach. They kept smiling brightly, humming along to music from time to time.
I couldn't help being infected by their happiness. I clapped along.
But deep in my heart, I felt a vague unease. As if something terrible was about to happen.
Just as I was lost in thought, a car suddenly charged over. Like a bloodthirsty beast, it crashed through the gate!
It was them!
They came to kill us!
I reacted almost instantly, lunging toward Mom. "Mom! Run!"
But Mom thought I was scared. She held me tightly in her arms.
Bang bang bang!
Unrestrained gunshots rang out outside. Dad and Mom's faces turned extremely grave.
Dad's face darkened as he rushed to the door. He quickly told Mom, "Take Geni and hide!"
Before leaving, he paused. "I love you both."
Mom and I immediately burst into tears. With tears in her eyes, Mom stuffed me into a hidden cellar in the kitchen. She whispered, "Hide here. Don't make a sound."
I gripped Mom tightly. Having experienced this once before, I knew what her fate would be.
Mom planted a kiss on my forehead, then rushed out.
I wanted to tell her not to go! But the me in the dream just obediently hid in the closet.
Mom had barely reached the kitchen doorway when gunshots rang out.
I watched with my own eyes as Mom was hit and fell into a pool of blood.
Her blood dripped through the cracks onto my face. I covered my mouth tightly. My eyes were also stained red with Mom's blood.
But I didn't close them. I had to remember all these people's faces!
Just then, the lead gunman suddenly turned around and looked straight into my eyes!
I'd been discovered!
