Chapter 20 The Killing
Genesis's POV
\[What do you want?\]
I shrank warily behind the door, showing them the words on my phone.
\[If something happens to me, the Martinez family won't let you go!\]
Slap!
Sofia knocked my phone to the ground and said darkly, "You're the one who made me like this! And you still dare to threaten us?!"
I looked up in confusion. I made her like this?! Why couldn't I understand what she was saying?
\[You mean your injured hand is related to me?\] I signed, but none of them could understand. Sofia clicked her tongue impatiently.
She walked quickly to me and slapped me hard across the face.
My head snapped to the side from the blow, anger flashing in my eyes!
Why? Why could everyone abuse me at will?
"You bitch! If you hadn't secretly tattled to Eli, how would he have publicly taught me a lesson after you left?!" Sofia touched her injured hand, her tone becoming more vicious. "You think you can get away with seducing Forth and then hooking up with Eli? Not that simple!"
Eli actually taught Sofia a lesson?!
If not for the real injury on her hand, I would never believe this was true.
\[You must be mistaken!\] I gestured anxiously. Yesterday when Sofia embarrassed me publicly, Eli was completely cold, not even sparing me an extra glance.
How could he possibly stand up for me after I left?
This was too contradictory.
"Stop pretending to be weak with your broken sign language. Is this how you seduced them?" Sofia slapped my hand and kicked my knee hard. I couldn't help but fall to my knees.
Sofia gestured to her followers and sneered, "This bitch is too dirty. Drag her over for a good wash."
I tried to struggle, but one person pressed me firmly to the ground while another walked to the corner to get a mop and bucket.
The water in the bucket was filthy and even gave off a faint stench.
I had to act!
I lowered my head and felt for the stun gun in my pocket. I had prepared this long ago, and now it would finally come in handy.
While their attention was on the bucket, I quickly turned and bit down hard on the hand of the person holding me!
I used all my strength in this bite, not letting go until she screamed and loosened her grip.
Without hesitation, I supported myself with one hand and got up, quickly running toward the door!
"You bitch!" Sofia didn't expect me to dare escape and instinctively blocked my path.
I coldly pulled out the stun gun and jabbed it hard into her arm.
Sofia screamed and collapsed to the ground.
I didn't spare her a single glance and ran out quickly.
Footsteps echoed behind me. I looked back and they were still chasing me!
Seeing the volleyball gym not far ahead, I gritted my teeth and rushed in.
Just as I entered, one follower lunged forward and tackled me to the ground.
"You bitch! I'm going to kill you!" Sofia was furious. The bandage on her hand was bleeding again. The stun gun clearly hadn't been pleasant for her.
I lowered my head and quietly smiled.
"You actually dared to hurt me. I'll make you pay back ten times, a hundred times!" Sofia pointed at me and cursed.
Her two followers immediately held me up. Sofia also pulled the stun gun from my pocket and jabbed it into my body.
I couldn't help but tremble. The painful, numbing sensation even brought tears to my eyes.
Seeing my miserable state, Sofia wasn't satisfied.
She had her followers tie me to the net and picked up a volleyball, smiling viciously. "I heard volleyballs hurt when they hit you. I wonder how many you can take?"
I struggled in panic, but the followers had tied me very tightly. I couldn't free my hands at all.
Sofia laughed and handed the volleyball to her followers. "Serve."
The followers stared at me maliciously for a moment, then jumped and swung hard!
Bang!
The volleyball slammed into me fiercely, like a giant hammer. The pain made me curl up involuntarily.
Then more balls came flying.
I tried desperately to dodge, but they gave me no chance, even deliberately aiming for my vulnerable spots.
The intense pain made my consciousness begin to blur. I could even feel warm liquid flowing down my back. The wounds must have reopened.
I hung my head miserably, tears dripping to the ground.
Was I going to die here like this?
I didn't want to!
A huge desire to survive made me lift my head with difficulty, staring fiercely at one of the followers.
If I could escape, I wouldn't let them go!
Perhaps intimidated by my gaze, that follower actually hesitated.
She walked hesitantly to Sofia and whispered, "She seems to be bleeding a lot. Maybe we should stop? I don't want to cause a death!"
Sofia looked at me and sneered. "I've never heard of anyone being killed by a volleyball! If there is, then it's just her bad luck!"
Seeing the follower still hesitating, Sofia waved impatiently. "She's just an illegitimate daughter. Forget dying, even if she did die, no one would care."
I could no longer hear clearly what they were saying. My vision kept going black, but I never looked away, staring fixedly at that follower.
Obviously Sofia's words didn't convince her. After hesitating for a moment, she still put down the volleyball.
Sofia's expression changed, angrily saying, "You..."
"What are you doing?!"
An angry roar came from nearby. I turned my head with difficulty and saw it was Forth.
Not only him, but behind him followed the principal and several school board members.
Forth immediately rushed forward to untie the ropes on me. Seeing me covered in blood, he didn't dare approach for a moment.
The principal was also furious. He pointed at Sofia and the others. "Who told you to do such a thing! You..."
"If we'd come any later, she might have been beaten to death!" A female board member saw my miserable condition and angrily questioned the principal. "Is this how you manage the school? Bullying students in the volleyball gym! This must be handled seriously! Otherwise, you shouldn't be principal anymore!"
The principal didn't dare argue, only glaring angrily at Sofia and her followers.
Sofia, who had been arrogant just moments ago, now shrank her neck and didn't dare say another word, lowering her head to accept the principal's anger.
Only then did Forth approach with concern, carefully draping his jacket over me. "Are you okay? I'll take you to the hospital."
I wanted to shake my head to show him not to worry, but before I could move, everything went black and I completely passed out.
