Chapter 104 Passion on a Rainy Night

Chapter 104 Passion on a Rainy Night

Chloe's POV

Lucas looked at me. Two seconds of silence. "I can stay here. I'll sleep on the floor."

I shook my head. "Don't."

He took a breath before speaking. Carefully controlled. "Chloe, you've been drinking. I don't want to take advantage of you."

Had I been drinking too much? I didn't know.

His brow furrowed slightly. Watching him struggle to keep control, something inside me softened.

I looked at him for a long moment. Then I reached up and cupped his face. "It's not taking advantage."

Thunder crashed again. Closer this time. My body trembled. Without thinking, I burrowed into his arms. "I'm scared, Lucas."

I wrapped my arms around his waist. He smelled good. Warm and clean. The moment I pressed against him, the thunder and rain seemed to fade.

"Hold me. Don't leave me alone."

He closed his eyes. I felt his chest rise and fall with a deep breath.

Then he lifted the covers and climbed in. His arms closed around me, pulling me against him.

I pressed closer. My legs tangled with his. My forehead rested against the side of his neck.

I could hear my own heartbeat. And his too. Fast and heavy.

"Is this okay?" His voice was thick.

Not enough.

I buried myself deeper into his embrace. My cheek brushed against his collarbone. I searched for that safest place.

My thin nightgown bunched up. The fabric was too flimsy. Barely a barrier at all. His body heat came through in waves.

"Chloe, stop moving." His voice came from above. Tinged with helplessness.

I looked up at him.

I wasn't moving around.

But before I could say anything, my knee brushed against him accidentally. His whole body went rigid. His palm pressed against the bed. He forced half an inch of distance between us.

The cold air rushing into that gap made me uncomfortable. I frowned. I tried to pull him back.

"If you keep doing that, this is going to get really difficult for me." Lucas looked at me with resignation.

"Difficult how?" I genuinely didn't understand. The alcohol had turned my thoughts to fog. All my awareness was both blunt and direct.

I watched his jaw tighten. I reached up and touched it. My fingertips brushed against his Adam's apple.

That was moving too. Like it held another heartbeat.

He was holding back. I could feel it.

"Lucas, your heart's beating so fast."

He caught my hand. Helpless and restrained. "Don't touch."

I didn't pull away. Instead, I held him tighter. I pressed my whole body against him. I buried my face in his chest. "But I like you like this."

He looked down at me. A slight frown creased his brow. Like he had no idea what to do with me. "What do you want me to do?"

I gazed up at him.

The room was dark. But his features were so close. His breath mingled with mine.

My eyes felt wet. I didn't know if it was from the alcohol or something else entirely.

I buried my face in his chest. My fingers clutched at the hem of his shirt. "I want you."

He froze. "Chloe, are you serious?"

I asked him back, "Have I ever been this serious about anything before?"

He held me in his arms. His warm palm stroked my back. Over and over. Gentle as if soothing a child.

But the tenderness that lowered my guard was just a trick.

Before I could react, my nightgown was pushed up. It bunched at my arms.

Sudden coolness hit my skin. My entire body was now exposed before Lucas.

His gaze darkened.

I followed his line of sight. I looked down at myself.

My white lace bra was wrinkled and twisted. My panties were soaked through. Transparent.

Beneath this lingerie that had lost all protective function was a body that felt foreign to me.

My chest rose and fell with rapid breathing. My waist twisted under the heat of his gaze.

My inexperienced reactions seemed to become fatal temptation in his eyes.

Lucas's large hands roamed over my body. His palms carried a thin layer of heat. They pressed against my skin. Burning inch by inch. I bit my lip. I couldn't stop the soft gasps escaping.

The next second, his mouth found my skin. Warm and hungry. He kissed his way down. I gasped, arching into him.

No.

Too much.

I had never known that beneath Lucas's cool exterior, his touch could be this fierce.

In a daze, he had already kissed every inch of me.

My legs were pinned open. His warm lips traveled downward. Past my chest. Past my stomach. Arriving at my most private place.

His fingers found me. They rubbed back and forth. My panties were pulled into a thin string. Wedged between my folds. Tugging.

Under this stimulation, I grew wetter. I couldn't stop it.

"It's going to... there, don't..." My voice shook. But Lucas didn't stop.

His fingers moved faster. The slick sounds filled the quiet room. I grew hotter. I grew needier.

With a soft cry, I came undone. Pleasure swept through me. My body trembled. My mind went blank.

I thought that would be the end.

But Lucas shifted above me. His hardness pressed against my entrance. He teased. He circled. He refused to enter.

"My princess, are you sure? It's not too late to change your mind."

I hooked my arms around his neck. My voice was barely a whisper. "Take me."

The man who had once been so restrained pressed against my most intimate place.

His expression flickered. He looked at me deeply.

Then Lucas spread my legs further. His body settled between them. He drove into me.

I cried out. He leaned down and kissed me. He swallowed every sound.

We moved together. Lost in each other. Until exhaustion finally claimed us.

I woke the next afternoon in a clean nightgown.

Last night's events came flooding back. Mortification washed over me. I should never have drunk that much.

A knock came at the door. I said, "Come in." My voice came out hoarse.

Lucas entered. He was carrying a bowl of cream of mushroom soup. Our eyes met for a second. We both looked away.

God, I had no idea how to face him now.
