AMANDA
"This place?" I blurted out, looking around, my heart thumping a little louder.
"Do you remember this place?" He asked, grinning.
"Off course, Marco. How can I forget this place? You saved me from drowning." I replied as I stare at the river shining under the sunlight. I'm still afraid of water especially after he pushed me off the cliff and I guess, I'm never going to come out of that trauma. Water bodies will always haunt me but right now, even though I'm scared to look at it, I couldn't help but remember the time when I was in high school and came here to take away my life. I wanted to end everything but fate had different plan for me.
"And this is the place where I stole your first kiss." He smiled, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
I'm glad you for that. "You were my first of everything, dude. I mean, my first kiss, first crush, first sex, first love and first husband." I winked to which he scowled.
"Say that I'm your last too." He pouted.
Have I mentioned earlier that these days, he's becoming adorable? I kissed on his cheeks and nodded. "Till the day I die, I'm all yours."
Tears started gathering in my eyelids as all those memories of past started drifting inside my head. He had no idea that how much this place is close to my heart. In between the woods, this used to be my escape from my step mother. I've always wanted to come back to this place after Marco saved me and I wanted to tell him that I like him but I couldn't. If it wasn't the promise of my mother, I would've came to meet him. I don't know what would've happened to us then but I'm pretty sure that I would've kissed him again.
To all the sleepless night that I spent on my bed, telling myself not to come back to this place and meet the boy who saved my life, finally I can let those regrets go. That boy who was my first crush is now my husband and I couldn't ask for more.
"Thank you for this." I said to him as we sat down on the rock. The sun was about to settle down and I was happy.
This wasn't some fancy date to some classy restaurant; this is just our place that holds so much of memories.
"Next time, whenever we're having fights, I'm going to take you here and kiss you against the same old tree where we shared our first kiss." He said, looking at the orange sky.
"Man, you're so romantic." I rolled my eyes at him but nevertheless smiled at the idea. It was cute and I know very well that he will do that.
He chuckled.
I inhaled the fresh breath of air and rested my head against his shoulder. "What do you think about our future, Marco?"
"I see it in you."
I rolled my eyes. "Marco, stop being cheesy and answer me."
He made a face. "Why are you always like this?"
"Marco." I glared at him.
"I don't know. You tell, what do you think about having kids in the future?" He shrugged.
I stiffened. I haven't thought about it before. "Will you hate me if I say that I don't want to have children?"
He shifted his eyes to me and for a second, he scanned my face before passing me an assuring smile. "I won't lie, I'd be disappointed but it's completely your decision and whatever you say, I'd be happy with that."
I have only one heart, dude. How many times are you going to win it?
I pressed my eyes and for a moment thought about children but I didn't feel any sort of overwhelming feeling. Maybe it's because of the toxic childhood I had or maybe because right now we both are not emotionally stable. I don't know, it's just don't feel right.
"Stop thinking much. Let's take one day at a time." He said, admiring the sunset.
I nodded. "How about I change my hair color? Purple, maybe?"
"Don't lie to me, I know you're not going to change it. You are obsessed with your blue hair."
"Yep." I stuck my tongue at him. "By the way, I have a surprise for you." I said to him, hiding a wide smile that was about to dance on my lips.
"And what is that?" He asked, curiously.
I slide the dress little down from my shoulder and pointed over my skin. He scurried his eyebrows and when he caught the sight of his name tattooed on my shoulder blade, his lips parted in surprise.
He didn't say anything just stared at the tattoo. "Don't you like it?" I asked, hesitatingly.
"Why would you hurt yourself for this, Amanda?" He whispered.
Oh, God!
I rolled my eyes and open my arms wide. "My one arm is covered in tattoos, do you really think that I'll feel any pain?
He bites on his lips. "Thankyou. This feels good here." He pointed towards his heart.
I shook my head and smiled. "I always had tattoos to piss off my father and this is the first that I really wanted to have. Your name on my body, I don't know, it makes me happy." I confessed.
He bends his head down to place open mouthed kisses on the tattoo and then sighed. "I love you, Amanda."
"Dude, I love you, too." I grinned.
“Oh my, you look pretty, bitch.” Lia whistled once she saw me in the dress that Marco had bought for me.
“Ya, whatever.” I laughed.
“You sure that your husband won't strangle me?” Manik asked, sipping onto his drink.
“Yeah, thanks to the stunt that you pulled last time, I had sex with him.” I flipped him middle finger to which Lia bursted out laughing.
Ishaan was chuckling, without saying anything.
I looked around and smiled. I had planned a dinner, inviting all the people are close to me. My best friends; Lia and Manik and off course Ishaan.
Marco went to the airport to get my step brother who's coming from the Japan. I don't know why Marco's so fond of him that they both talk once in a week. He tells him about his studies and all those high school related stuffs while Marco patiently listens to him as if they're best friends.
I don't hate Jason, it's just that I've never even know that I've a brother for whole of my life. I just need little time, adjusting everything with him and someday hopefully we can get close.
“So, what are we ordering?” Lia asked.
“We're not.” I shrugged.
“You invited us for the dinner, I'm starving.” Manik looked at me in disbelief.
I looked at Ishaan who was had a smirk on his face as if knew. I winked at him. “Mr. Marco Felix can cook and trust me, he's the best.”
“No, shit.” Lia screamed in suprise.
And that's when Marco walked through the door with Jason next to him.
Jason was looking around, his mouth hanging wide open as he see every corner of Marco's house. I didn't know what to say so I just waved at him.
“Are you going to remain awkward with me?” He asked, rolling his eyes.
“Don't give me that attitude, kid.” I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Yes, mother.” He smirked.
God, he's an ass.
“That's what happens when you meet the person who has same nasty attitude as yours, babe.” Marco laughed, patting Jason's shoulders.
“Piss off.” I muttered when they all started laughing at me.
“Hey, Man, I hope you don't have any hard feelings for me. I'm just a friend of your wife. That day, I did it in fun.” Manik explained himself to Marco.
“No hard feelings.” Marco smiled.
I smiled.
This feels like home. They all feel like home.
Jason has came here to spend his vacations and I hope that we get some sort of bonding. At least, I'd have one family member beside Marco.
Soon, Marco served the food that he had cooked and we all sat on the dinning table.
“This man, never cooked anything for me even though we're best friends from so long. You've trained the dog perfectly, Amanda.” Ishaan said, tasting the food.
“Please don't insult the dog by comparing it to him.” I replied, turning to Marco who simply ignored us.
I've spent some time with Ishaan and we've developed a good friendship. At first, he used to apologise every time for everything but then slowly, we together started making fun of Marco and now, I'm pretty close to him. He's nice and I can tell that he really cares for Marco. They both are like brothers and I really enjoy their bonding.
Everyone chatted while eating and it made my heart full of warmth. It was as if I was having my own little family.
I turned my head to Marco and saw him looking back at me from the other side of the table. He smiled at me, mouthing 'I love you' to which I nodded with a big smile.
If given a chance to go back in past and change everything, I'd never do that because in the end, my husband is my fairy tale. I can go through thousands of pain and heartaches just to be with him.
After all this is my happily ever after where in the end Marco's mine and I'm his.
THE END
