Chapter 52 Fly
Chapter 52 Fly
Amrah:
Daphy stood protectively in front of me, looking ready to throw another kick if Chris made any attempt to come close to me again.
Chris cracked his jaw with a painful expression. Daphy's kick definitely did a bad one on him. I was still shocked she did that.
"Did you just kick me?" Chris asked in disbelief.
"And I will do that again if you take any step forward," Daphy threatened very seriously, and as she found my hand behind her, she held me firmly.
"Are they going to fight?" someone asked curiously amidst the little crowd that was forming already.
Any drama among the higher class was interesting to watch, even in a place like Minaret Academy that was filled with high-class individuals.
"Maybe. Chris is so shameless. He has the nerve to show up in front of Amrah after all he did. Wimp!"
"He is a Montgomery. He will definitely get away with that," another said spitefully.
I stepped forward from behind Daphy, facing Chris squarely.
"You were claiming very rightfully two days ago about your undying love for me, but the moment your dirty deeds are out, you turn around and blame me. You are one big idiot, Chris," I said calmly.
"You did it. You wanted to get back at me for showing everyone that you were fucking Zayd behind me," Chris barked relentlessly.
"Does that make sense to you? A compiled video of you being a sexual offender is circulating, and you think I did it. Why? Because I don't want you but Zayd, your friend, instead. Foolish." I flicked the strands of hair teasing my cheek off as my anger began to rise.
I had decided to ignore the video of him because it didn't affect me. Even though I was concerned for the victims in it, especially since I had barely escaped myself.
Who would have thought the fucker would come accusing me? I knew it would be hard for any of the victims to come out, especially because they probably didn't have enough power to go against the Montgomerys.
But that can't be said for me.
"Yes, you are just a petty bitch." He looked disheveled, probably needing some brain-resetting slap, so I stepped forward and gave him just that.
The place went pin-drop quiet as soon as the slap landed on Chris's face.
"The fuck? Is he really a Montgomery?" someone whispered, not believing that Chris Montgomery was hit twice in a row in a span of five minutes and the perpetrators were still standing.
Chris himself couldn't believe he got hit twice by two seemingly powerless women.
"I don't care what the fuck you do. You can go ahead and share the videos of Zayd and me kissing with the world. I won't stoop so low for petty revenge. If I had those files, I would just sue you, and believe me, you are not worming your way out no matter—"
"You won't dare!" Chris barked again.
"She will." The deep voice was familiar. The attractiveness forced heads to turn. I didn't need to turn to know who it was.
What was he doing here?
A very tall, lean man in an emerald green suit and well-tailored trousers that matched his eyes strutted forward. Behind him were about five men in black. He had dazzling red hair, which easily contrasted with his pale skin.
He looked more beautiful than handsome, with effeminate features that were well molded for a man.
His long, thin fingers held a glossy jade fountain pen, which he flicked carelessly as he walked.
"That was a kick, ma'am. Thank you for taking care of Amy." His deep voice pulled everyone out of their enchantment.
He was talking to Daphy, but his attention was on Chris, glaring daggers at him.
"You..." Daphy's words caught in her throat as she looked more shocked than enchanted to see the redhead who had just arrived.
"Do you know him?" I whispered to Daphy. That seemed to pull her out of her reverie.
"What? No, he... looks familiar," she stuttered, looking between the redhead, who had a playful smile playing on his lips.
"I know. We look alike. Amy here is my baby sister." Jamal winked and pulled me to his side.
"Oh..." Daphy had a rare, pale pink hue on her cheeks.
"Wow, Van-Arthur's family is filled with beauty, I guess. Men included," someone among the crowd commented.
"I bet Chris wants him too," someone else snickered.
"Why are you here?" I asked, ignoring the comments.
"I'm here to save you from getting bullied, of course. Since Eddie can't do his job well." Jamal shrugged and turned to Chris with a stern expression.
"I was not getting bullied. I think he is shaken up by whatever is going on with him. Besides, I just gave him a resetting pill," I said with all seriousness.
"Yeah, I caught sight of that. You did well, little Amy." Jamal patted my head as if I did something good, and Chris was not standing a few feet away, breathing heavily as he watched in anger.
I pushed Jamal's hand away with a frown.
"You two are going to regret doing this! Does your father know that you two are going against the Montgomerys?" Chris's voice had a hint of shaking as he spoke.
"Does your father know that you are about to get sued for touching my sister with those filthy hands of yours?"
"You...!"
"What? Can't form a good sentence again? Amy, how about another resetting pill?" Jamal had a feigned concerned expression on his face as he spoke.
Jamal had that talent of leaving one speechless with that sharp tongue of his.
"I guess not. One is enough."
"Really? So why did you allow him to touch you? How do I explain to Mum that a big fly touched your fair skin and probably left a mark there?" Jamal continued his drama regardless of the growing crowd that was admiring his beauty.
"Did he just refer to Chris as a fly?" someone asked among the crowd.
"Obviously, but he can. I mean, look at him."
"You will regret this, I promise!" Chris was fuming with a flaring nose.
"Are you sure? Because I don't think a dirty fly can do anything to me. Besides, where the fuck is Eddie? Isn't he supposed to swat flies like this before they get closer? How do I explain to Mum that a fly is disturbing her precious little Amy?" Jamal tugged my cheeks playfully and ignored Chris like he was really a fly.
I heard Daphy suppress a laugh and failed. I need to get Jamal out of here. But he didn't seem to be done.
"You have till the end of today to take down the videos," Chris threatened after deciding to ignore Jamal as he couldn't win against him.
"The fly just won't give up. Oh, I think I know someone who can get it away." Jamal pulled out his phone and scrolled with a light frown, the one he wore whenever he meant business. He seemed to be calling someone.
"Liam?" Jamal said into the phone after a while
