Chapter 50 Panicky

Chapter 50 Panicky
Zayd

I wonder why I asked that of all things to ask in the world. It took her by surprise as usual, but I didn't expect the unhinged reply I got.

"No, and you know why." She looked away from my eyes after that.

I didn't know if I should feel wronged for that or blame myself. After all, I agreed to the punishment.

Another silence stretched forth as I stared at her, speechless but also shamelessly. My eyes moved between her eyes and lips, but she didn't give in even though I could see that she was blushing profusely.

Why was she holding back?

I have been such an inconsiderate asshole after all. I shouldn't have brought her here right after what she went through yesterday.

But she said she had fun, and it really looked like she had enough fun. Maybe coming here wasn't a bad decision. I was more glad that she got along so well with Ian as well.

Everything was falling into place too smoothly that it gave me a dreadful feeling. I haven't been able to contact Jim all day due to the bad reception around, but we were scheduled to leave tonight regardless.

I watched her calm down and finally reach for her phone.

"Daphy would have dropped tons of messages by now. The reception is so bad." She tapped on the phone a few times before giving up.

"We will be leaving very soon," I informed her, hoping to clear the awkward air.

The flight back to school was barely an hour long. Amrah spent it talking about the orphanage and how she would ask her father for a donation to the orphanage, especially because of the reception issue.

"They could have an emergency that needs a phone call across to the city to get help," she reasoned while I listened patiently.

I just couldn't get enough of her voice, and it just gladdened my heart how much she cared about the orphanage.

"The orphanage office line works with or without reception," I informed her.

"Oh, that's better."

Jim looked like he had something to tell me, but I was with Amrah. Everything else could wait.

"I can't wait for the holidays. I will definitely visit again during the holiday. You must take me back, okay? I would have prepared a special gift for Ian by then."

"Alright."

"Oh, we will get the gift together. You have more idea of what he likes."

"Sure." I was probably smiling like a fool, thinking about how she had planned to spend time with me ahead.

We barely got into the car that was driving us home when both of our phones started blasting with a lot of messages.

I considered ignoring the pinging until I was sure Amrah was safely back in her apartment and comfortable because it was already past midnight.

"What is this?" Amrah screeched, staring at her phone as if petrified by whatever was on her screen.

I took the phone from her, and I had only five seconds to realize her reaction. Someone had decided to show the world who the real Chris Montgomery was.

My eyes met Jim's through the rearview mirror, and he shook his head distractedly. I trust Jim would never do something I didn't approve of first.

Although, I had planned on posting the files containing Chris's sexual abuse and all, but not anonymously, especially not now.

Someone had beaten me to it.

I figured that was what Jim wanted to tell me all day, but I didn't give him a chance.

"He is so... such an animal." Amrah's eyes were glossy with unshed tears as she watched Chris force his cock down some guy's throat.

"Stop watching." I was concerned for her mental health at this point because the video kept replaying, and each replay couldn't be more disgusting than the last.

Amrah took her phone and swiped a few times, calling Daphy.

"Daphy, why would you send this to me?" she cried as soon as Daphy picked up.

"I just wanted to show you what has been going on. Everywhere is a mess, babe. A few ladies came out to claim that Chris has sexually abused them before." Amrah put the phone on speaker and turned to me, clearly wanting me to listen.

"How did this happen?" she asked.

"Well, everyone that attended the birthday party suddenly got a strange message after we left. It was a file containing several videos of Chris and... girl, just like the one Yvonne sent." Amrah looked at me but said nothing.

"I tried calling you, but I figured you were probably at a place with bad reception."

"Yeah, I'm almost home. We will talk better tomorrow." She seemed uncomfortable and wanted to end the call.

"You mean today. See you later."

"What file did Yvonne send to you?" I asked as soon as the call disconnected.

Amrah noticed my stern expression and adjusted in her seat, looking very uncomfortable with the question.

That was Amrah. She wasn't the groomed rich girls who had grown up to know how to hide their emotions and be manipulative. She wore her emotions proudly on her face.

"Well, I guess I was stupid. I broke up with Chris because of that file." She exhaled after giving me a recap of how Yvonne sent a file to Daphy and it had similar content to the leaked videos.

"But... that file had no videos of Chris forcing himself on someone." She still looked shaken from what she had watched.

"Amrah."

"Mm?" She couldn't hold eye contact with me for some reason, and I could easily guess why.

"I need you to calm down, okay?"

"I can't. Chris... he used to be violent to me as well. He even tried to... Oh God... I was able to escape, but that lady, she looked so scared. She couldn't even speak up." Amrah yapped with tears streaming down her face.

"Can I hold you?" I asked, clueless about what to do.

I realized we had arrived at the underground parking lot of the building, and Jim had gotten out of the car to give us space.

Chris, I hope you are prepared to pay for all these.

"Amrah?" I called after she had stopped shaking.

"Hold me a little longer, please," she muttered, burying her face in the crook of my neck.

I felt much better hearing her calm voice and knowing that she wanted me to hold her. That meant she trusted me.

I couldn't stop thinking about the whole situation, especially the person who released those videos

Who could it be?
