Chapter 26 Yvonne
Amrah
“You should think carefully and choose Zayd please, I'm rooting for you two” Daphy urged me.
“Mn” I mumbled trying to swallow the guilt choking my throat.
“By the way, have you seen Yvonne? I haven't seen her in three days.”
“No, I haven't seen her lately as well” I shook my head after thinking for a bit.
I have been so occupied with my messy life to remember when I last saw her or Sally.
“She sent me an email yesterday. I mean why not use normal WE-messages? And the file is locked for a certain time. The timer is still counting”
“Timer? That sounds worrying”
“I know right. And she is not in her apartment. She has always been fishy but I try not to pry into people's business so I don't know much about her. I'm so curious to see what she sent to my email though”
“You will find out once the time elapses”
“Hey, Amrah Van-Authr, right?” I stopped, cornered by a tall brunette dressed in a flashy luxurious brand.
Familiar but unfamiliar at the same time.
“Yeah,” I tilted my head trying to remember why she was familiar.
“You are with Zayd?” she
“Huh?” I was confused for a moment, and then it clicked. She was the one at the underground parking lot when Zayd got out of the hospital.
The one who got ignored.
“Zayd is mine” I burst into a fit of laughter, unable to hold myself.
“Why are you laughing? I heard you were caught acting all close to him just because you two live in the same building” she continued looking red from anger.
“That was lame” I let out after reining in my laughter.
“What was lame?” She looked like she was holding back from strangling me, but she knew better than to do it.
“Zayd is yours? Is he aware that he is owned by you?” I asked, raising my eyebrow tauntingly.
She was taller than I am, but I couldn't let a random person I don't even know their name intimidate me on stupid issues like this.
“That's… just stay clear. You are just a little redhead who can only hide behind her father's fame”
“Just like you. We are both living off our family's wealth, aren't we?” I batted my eyelashes in feigned confusion.
“I don't care, just stay away from Zayd”
“And if I don't?” I smiled darkly.
I know I barely looked intimidating but a short girl could only try right? I should at least be able to defend myself against people like her who think they can blab shit and go.
“Don't blame me for what happens next” She threatened, her voice had a hint of tremble.
I had managed to leave her fuming in a few words.
“What happens next? I am suddenly curious” Watching her nose flare up makes me a bit satisfied that I have managed to rile her up completely.
I should tell Jamal that his tactics actually worked. He suggested annoying anyone who tries to bully me this way.
“Are you sure you want to cross paths with me?” I pressed my forefinger to her forearm lightly, staring into her eyes.
“You…!” Her words choked in her throat when I pulled back and pulled out a hand sanitizer, spritzing it on my finger that touched her.
“Your perfume stinks,” I shrugged.
“That cost ten thousand pounds” she squealed, veins popping on her neck.
“I didn't ask for the price. I'm not going to purchase it anyway, it's too cheap and stinky”
“Back to what I was saying, I don't even know your name and you shamelessly cornered me and spewed trash about staying away from Zayd like you saw me sticking to him all day”
I can be gentle on a good day and bratty on a bad day like today. My fucking period is here and this foolish girl thought it was a good time to talk to me about some man!
A small crowd was beginning to gather around, any fight in Minaret Towers was attention-worthy to the gossip mongers.
“He carried you…”
“Shut the fuck up,” I said in a dangerously low voice.
‘I have never seen Amy exchange words with anyone. Why is Remi confronting her?’ Someone said rather loudly.
"From what I heard just now, Zayd and Amy are close and that doesn't sit well with Remi of course, who in Minaret Towers doesn't know she has been chasing him for three years," another replied.
So she has been chasing Zayd for three years? A record worth keeping indeed.
“I'm warning you calmly now…”
“I told you to shut the fuck up and listen. Me standing here talking to you right now, is because I don't have enough strength to hurl you out of my fucking way. You stink, get off my way”
“You bitch!”
“Yes, I'm a bitch. I bitch at pigs like you, so smelly” My stomach was hurting like a bitch and this stupid bitch just doesn't know when to stop.
I swallowed trying to stand strong, but my stomach wasn't having it. I didn't want to collapse right here, especially not in front of this bitch.
“She told you to get the fuck out of her way” That calm voice brought a tiny sense of relief over me.
I looked over the bitch’s shoulder to see Zayd walking over calmly, his confident gait measured.
“Zayd! I was just having a chat with her” Her angry expression morphed into a sickening sweet one in an instant.
“Amrah, are you okay?” he evaded her outstretched arm, his eyes trained on me.
“Not really” I clutched my lower stomach and hunched over.
I really couldn't hold myself up any longer. Zayd took my bag from my shoulder and lifted me off the ground without another question.
“I will take you to the hospital now, you look pale” his voice was laced with worry. I hooked my arms around his neck with a frown.
“No need,” I muttered.
“But you…”
“It's my period” I whispered and buried my face in his neck, shamelessly inhaling his soothing scent.
Much better than the choking candy scent that bitch had on.
“Oh, but are you sure there is no need to take you to the hospital?” I nodded against his chest. I could feel a few eyes staring at us but I didn't care.
I just wanted to take a hot shower and curl up in my bed with my hot bottle.
“Zayd!!!” the bitch screamed in frustration as Zayd walked away with me in his arms.
