Chapter 122 Blackmailing

Chapter 122 Blackmailing
VANESSA'S POINT OF VIEW

I was lying across my bed that evening, my phone propped against a pillow in front of me as I laughed with my friends on a group video call.

“Guys, I swear, I wish I could replay today's scene again.”Everyone burst into laughter.

“Did you see the way Bianca was kneeling down?” I continued, shaking my head.

“Ew! She actually knelt down for that poor, poor smelly thing.”I covered my mouth as I laughed.

“How could she kneel down for Zoe?”One of my friends laughed.

“I know, right?”

“Oh my God, I could watch that scene all over again.” I grinned.

“The way she cried was actually hilarious. And honestly, it was so relieving watching her finally break down like that.”I leaned back against my pillows.

“Bianca deserved to be exposed. I'm just glad everyone finally saw what she was really like.”One of the girls suddenly asked,

“But why do you think Bianca came back begging Zoe like that? That's so unlike her.”My smile faded slightly.

“Yeah,” I said slowly.

“I thought about that too.”I stared at my ceiling for a moment.

“Maybe the school told her to apologize to Zoe if she wanted to come back.”

“No way.”

“I hope not,” I said immediately.

“I was already happy that I got rid of one problem. Now you're telling me she might come back?”I rolled my eyes.

“And there's still that annoying Zoe.”My friends laughed.

“I think that's probably what happened,” one of them said.

I sat up, a small smile returning to my face.

“Well, if Bianca comes back, I'll just have to find a way to deal with both problems at once.”

“Vanessa!” one of them laughed.

“Are you still planning something?”

“Of course.”I smiled.

“It's honestly exhausting pretending to be Zoe's friend.”I made a face.

“I almost couldn't stand being around her today. When I got home, I felt like I needed another shower just to forget I'd spent the whole day beside her.”The girls burst into laughter.

One of them shook her head.

“Are you seriously still not going to tell us what your plan is?”I laughed.

“Come on. I'll tell you when the time is right.”I leaned closer to the camera.

“But trust me, by the time I'm finished, Zoe won't be anywhere near Westbridge High.”My smile widened.

“And unlike Bianca, I'm not going to rush into anything. She made too many mistakes.”I paused.

“I'm going to take my time.”One of my friends nodded eagerly.

“And I'm going to make sure everything works this time.”I glanced toward my phone.

“Especially after Zoe had the nerve to think she could get close to Andy.”My expression hardened for a second.

“But before that, I have something else planned.”

“What?”I laughed.

“You'll see.”I shook my head, enjoying the curiosity on their faces.

“There's something I'm planning before everything else. And I swear, it's going to be fun watching the look on Zoe's face.”

“Oh my gosh, I can't wait!”

“Honestly,”

“it's kind of irritating watching you pretend to be her friend. She walks around like she's so important.”

“And she's always acting all posh,” another one said.

“Isn't she supposed to be grateful that a queen like you is even willing to be her friend?”They all laughed.

“I saw the way she was looking at you today,” one of them continued.

“She really thinks you're actually friends."I smiled.

“I don't care whether she trusts me right now or not.”I paused.

“The important thing is that I get close enough.”

“And then?”

“Then I make sure she trusts me completely.”I grinned.

“Because if I'm going to pull off my plan, I need her to believe I'm actually her friend.”I laughed softly.

“My fake friend.”The girls burst into laughter.

I fell back onto my pillows, still smiling.

“Okay, I'm going to sleep.”

“Already?”

“Yep. And hopefully, I dream about Bianca kneeling in front of Zoe again.”Everyone burst into laughter.

I smiled at the screen before ending the call.

The room became quiet.I placed my phone beside me and stared into the darkness.

My smile slowly returned.I had all the time in the world and Zoe had no idea what was coming.

"I hope you're ready for me, Zoe"I muttered with a smirk.

#NIGHT#

ANDY'S POINT OF VIEW

I woke up feeling thirsty.I blinked a few times, staring into the darkness before rubbing my eyes. For a moment, I couldn't even remember why I'd woken up then I swallowed.Yeah..... Water.

I reached toward the bedside table, hoping I'd find a bottle there, but my hand touched nothing....I sighed.

“Seriously?”I remembered asking the maid to leave some water beside my bed before I went to sleep.

Apparently, that didn't happen.I chuckled quietly and sat up, pushing the covers away.

“Guess I'm getting it myself.”I dropped my feet to the floor and slipped them into my slides. As I stood, my eyes caught sight of my phone lying beside the pillow.

I picked it up without really thinking. Then I remembered Zoe....A small smile crept onto my face.

I unlocked my phone and opened our chat, scrolling through the messages we'd exchanged earlier.I read them again and didn't know when I began smiling.

She was just... cute.I shook my head and chuckled under my breath.

“What's wrong with me?”I locked my phone and slipped it into my pocket before walking out of the room.

The house was quiet.Everyone was asleep.

I started down the stairs, still thinking about nothing in particular, until I suddenly heard a voice....I stopped and listened carefully....Axel?

I couldn't make out everything at first, but then his voice became clearer.

“Please, leave me alone. I told you I'm no longer interested.”I frowned.

Something about his tone immediately caught my attention.....He sounded angry.

“No, you can go ahead and report it. It's not like I care.”I slowly continued down the stairs.

“You can't keep demanding money from me. I literally just moved in here. Where do you expect me to get that kind of money from?”I stopped again.

Money?What was he talking about?

“I can't get you that kind of money, okay?”There was a pause.

Then Axel's voice rose.

“We were in that together. Why are you guys blackmailing me for that?”My eyebrows lifted.

Blackmail? What the hell was going on?

I continued down the stairs, making sure my footsteps were loud enough for him to know someone was there.

The moment I reached the bottom, Axel went quiet.

The call ended.I glanced at him but said nothing.Instead, I walked straight to the refrigerator.

“Hey, bro. What's up?”I opened the fridge.

“I'm good.”I said after some seconds, grabbed a bottle of water and twisted the cap open.I drank half of it before grabbing another bottle.

As I shut the refrigerator, Axel was still watching me.I started toward the stairs.

“Are you okay?”I stopped.

“Huh?”I turned around.

“Are you okay?”Axel stared at me for a few seconds. Then he looked almost surprised.

“Yeah. Yeah, everything is okay.”I nodded slightly.

He looked down at his phone before looking back at me.

“I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting to hear something like that from you.”I frowned.

“What?”A small smile appeared on his face.

“It actually feels good hearing you ask me if I'm okay.”I didn't know what to say to that.

So I just turned around and headed upstairs.

When I got back to my room, I placed the bottles of water on the bedside table and lay back down.I stared at the ceiling.Axel's words kept replaying in my head.

You can't keep demanding money from me

We were in that together

Why are you guys blackmailing me for that?I frowned.

Something wasn't right but I had no idea what it was.I turned onto my side and pulled the blanket over myself.

For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about that phone call.Who in the hell was he speaking with?
