Chapter 517: Undercurrents Surging!

Even Wesley was alarmed, and everyone present felt a pang of sympathy for Quentin. If Wesley decided to hold him accountable, Quentin might face severe punishment.

"Ah!"

Ignoring Wesley's command, Quentin broke off the arrow lodged in his body and mercilessly crushed Beckett's other leg underfoot, the sound of bones breaking sending chills down everyone's spine.

Beckett fainted from the pain, and Quentin kicked him several meters away.

"You wretch! Do you have a death wish?" Wesley roared, grabbing a Miao Blade from someone's waist and attempting to strike Quentin, but other leaders quickly intervened.

"What? Even as a Chieftain, you act so irrationally and unreasonably?" Quentin sneered.

"You wretch! How dare you cripple my son's legs! Don't you know that in combat, taking lives is forbidden?" Wesley pointed at Quentin, furious.

"Oh? Now you care about your precious son? When he injured so many contestants earlier, where was your concern?"

"I merely crippled his legs, not his life. Just because he's the Chieftain's son, does that mean he can hurt others but I can't hurt him?"

"Is there any fairness in this combat then?"

Quentin's retort left Wesley speechless, almost spitting blood in anger.

"Yes, Chieftain, winning and losing are common in combat. Every year there are injuries and deaths; this time it's just unfortunate that Master Beckett was outmatched."

"Quickly take Master Beckett back for treatment, or his life might be in danger!"

Patriarch Rodney and Wizard Eric pretended to console Wesley, though inwardly they were amused by Black Miao Village's predicament.

"Hmph! Someone, take Beckett back for treatment!"

"Webb! We'll see about this!"

Wesley fumed. With everyone supporting Quentin and so many witnesses present, he couldn't argue further despite knowing the risks of combat. He glared at Quentin one last time before storming off. Beckett was carried back to Black Miao Village, and the other injured contestants were also taken back to their respective camps for treatment.

The only relief was that no one had died in this combat.

After the scene was cleared, the referee announced the results: "The winner of this combat is... Webb from White Miao Village!"

Thunderous applause and cheers erupted. The people of White Miao Village were overjoyed, some even moved to tears.

Quentin had fought through four rounds, defeating Beckett with astonishing skill, creating numerous unexpected miracles. Emerging as the top contender, he became the war god of White Miao Village and the strongest in Miao Territory!

"Now we begin the award ceremony!" Wizard Eric announced solemnly from the Chieftain Base Camp.

The awards ceremony began with Wizard Eric personally presenting the prizes. Every contestant received a reward for their courage and effort, with higher rankings earning richer rewards.

Quentin and the contestants stood on the podium. Khan also joined them; his injuries were not severe and had been bandaged.

Some severely injured contestants couldn't come up to receive their awards and had others from their villages accept on their behalf, like Beckett, who lay unconscious with crippled legs.

Wizard Eric distributed the awards from lowest to highest rank. Khan, placing third in the Big Game, received a generous reward of precious herbs and considerable money.

Finally, it was Quentin's turn. Wizard Eric approached him, handing him a colorful flag with a smile. "Webb, thank you for all you've done for White Miao Village."

"You are not only the Wolf Slayer Hero but also the war god of White Miao Village!"

Quentin smiled modestly as he accepted the flag. "No need to thank me; it was just luck."

Wizard Eric said nothing more but handed Quentin the first-place reward: a storage bag filled with countless herbs, including some White Dragon Beard, a large sum of money, and even a ring set with green jade-a truly generous prize.

"Webb, go hang the colorful flag on the flower pole!" Wizard Eric said. "This is your honor and brings glory to White Miao Village."

Quentin took the colorful flag and walked to the center flower pole, dozens of feet high. The Miao People gathered around to witness this historic moment.

Except for Wesley and Black Miao Village's people, who looked as dark as coal.

Quentin attached the colorful flag to the pole's rope and slowly raised it to the top.

The Miao Territory people, young and old alike, surrounded the pole excitedly.

As the colorful flag reached the top, White Miao Village's people surrounded Quentin, lifting him high above their heads in celebration.

"Webb! The war god of White Miao Village!!"

"War god!"

"War god-!"

The cheers echoed throughout the area.

Cerys stood aside, moved and happy for him, gazing at him with tender affection. In her heart, Quentin was the most formidable man in the world!
