Chapter 192 Epilogue

Chapter 192 Epilogue
Two Years Later!

Two years had changed almost everything.

Nathan Miller’s name was no longer known only on university campuses. It was known across the country.

His jersey had become one of the league's highest-selling jerseys.

Children waited outside arenas hoping for an autograph. Sports analysts regularly described him as one of the brightest young captains in professional hockey.

Yet whenever anyone asked what had changed the most, Nathan always smiled before answering,

"Nothing important."

Because the things that mattered most had never changed. He still called his mother every Sunday.
He still visited Sophie whenever his schedule allowed. He still found excuses to annoy Ryan. And he still looked for Amelia first whenever he walked into a room.

Life has changed for everyone.

Ryan had signed with the same professional club as Nathan. He remained exactly the same loud, impossible friend everyone loved.

The only noticeable difference was that he was no longer single.

Mira had finally stopped pretending Ryan irritated her. Ryan had finally admitted he had been hopelessly in love with her for years. And watching them argue had become a form of entertainment for everyone around them.

Amelia's career had flourished.

After completing her internship, SportsLine Media House had offered her a permanent position.

Within two years, she had become one of the station's fastest-rising sports journalists.

Her calm interviewing style, her thorough preparation, and her ability to make athletes feel at ease in front of the cameras.

Everything about her had earned viewers' admiration. Ironically, the athlete viewers most wanted her to interview had always been unavailable. Not because he refused. Because both of them had agreed it would be better to wait until today.

The studio buzzed with controlled excitement. Camera operators adjusted their positions. Producers counted down quietly through their headsets.

The audience applauded as the opening music faded.

Amelia smiled toward the main camera. "Good evening, everyone." Her voice carried the same confidence it always had.

"Welcome to Inside the Game." She smiled again.
"Tonight's guest hardly needs an introduction."

The large screen behind her displayed highlights from championship games, international tournaments, and award ceremonies.

Nathan Miller.

Professional hockey captain.

League MVP.

National team player.

The audience applauded loudly as Nathan walked onto the set.

He looked almost exactly the same. He was just a little older, more handsome, more confident, and more composed.

He greeted Amelia with a professional handshake before taking his seat opposite her.

If viewers expected awkwardness, they found none.

Amelia smiled warmly. "Nathan, welcome."

"Thank you for having me."

"It took us two years to convince your manager."

Nathan laughed. "My manager said I'd eventually lose the argument."

"I suppose he was right."

"He usually is."

The audience laughed softly.

The interview began.

Amelia asked about his recent championship victory. His recovery from injuries. His leadership.
His transition into professional hockey.

Nathan answered every question thoughtfully. He praised his teammates more than himself. He credited his coaches repeatedly. He even managed to embarrass Ryan by telling viewers he still couldn't make a decent milkshake.

Ryan, watching from backstage with Mira, covered his face. "I knew he'd bring that up."

Mira laughed. "You deserve it."

The interview continued effortlessly.

Eventually, Amelia glanced down at her final question card.

She smiled. "This next question has been requested by almost everyone watching."

Nathan raised an eyebrow. "Should I be worried?"

"Possibly."

The audience laughed.

Amelia folded the card onto the table. "Nathan."
She smiled professionally. "Our viewers would like to know..." She paused deliberately. "Whether your heart is still available."

Nathan leaned back comfortably. "It isn't."

A chorus of playful disappointment echoed through the audience.

Amelia smiled. "So you're in a relationship."

"I am."

"Would you tell us anything about her?"

Nathan nodded. "I'd be happy to." He looked directly into the camera. "She's incredibly kind. She's smarter than I am. She works harder than anyone I've ever met." He smiled to himself. "And she still believes she isn't funny."

The audience laughed.

Amelia kept her professional composure. "So..."
She tilted her head slightly. "Would you ever consider dating a sports journalist?"

Nathan pretended to think very seriously. "I would've loved to."

The audience leaned in.

He nodded thoughtfully. "Unfortunately..." He sighed dramatically. "My girlfriend is a little jealous."

Laughter spread across the studio.

Nathan continued with a completely straight face.
"I suspect she'd murder both of us."

The audience burst into louder laughter.

Amelia turned toward him with exaggerated disbelief. "Excuse me?"

Nathan smiled innocently. "I'm simply protecting us."

She narrowed her eyes at him. "So your girlfriend is watching tonight?"

"Oh..." Nathan smiled wider. "She's definitely watching."

Amelia folded her arms. "Should I be worried?"

Nathan looked at her. Not as an athlete or a television guest. He looked at her as the woman he loves.

The teasing expression slowly disappeared.

His voice softened. "I don't think so."

The studio became quieter.

Nathan turned toward the main camera. "I think it's about time people knew."

Amelia looked at him in surprise.

He reached across the small table and gently took her hand.

A wave of surprised murmurs spread through the audience.

Nathan smiled. "My Queen, my woman, the only lady who owns my heart." He looked directly at Amelia. "Is sitting right here."

The audience gasped. Then erupted into applause.

Nathan laughed softly before continuing. "The incredible woman in my life is interviewing me today." He squeezed her hand gently. "But long before she ever interviewed me." He smiled.
"She believed in me."

His eyes never left hers. "She was my biggest fan before I became this popular." His voice became quieter. "She stood beside me when everything around me was falling apart. She celebrated every victory. She carried every disappointment with me."

He smiled. "And somehow..." His thumb brushed lightly across the back of her hand. "She still chooses me."

Amelia's eyes shimmered.

Nathan looked back toward the audience. "So yes."
He smiled proudly. "I am incredibly happy to be interviewed tonight." He turned toward Amelia once more. "Because the woman asking the questions..."
He chuckled softly. "Is the love of my life."

The audience rose to their feet. Applause filled the studio.

Amelia laughed through the tears gathering in her eyes. "You've completely ruined my professional composure."

Nathan smiled. "I've been doing that for years."

She shook her head, smiling wider than she had all evening. "I suppose you have."

For a long moment, neither of them spoke. They simply looked at each other, not as a famous athlete and a respected journalist.

Just Nathan and Amelia.

The boy who once rented an ice rink because he wanted to make one girl smile. The girl who had once rushed across an arena because she thought she might lose him.

Two ordinary hearts who had somehow found each other and swore to never let go.

THE END.
