Chapter 184 I’M RICH TOO NOW, YOU KNOW.
AURORA’S POINT OF VIEW
Have you ever met someone so insufferable that you wished you could cook something in a huge pot, force him to drink it so he could disintegrate into thin air?
Well, I have.
You want to know my current dilemma? The fact that a guy with dark eyes, dark hair, and a sudden teasing smile called me at six in the fucking morning with one command.
‘Get dressed, we’re going shopping for a party.’ I’d finally fallen asleep from the events of the night, my body finally growing lax in bed…. until the shrill sound of my darned phone jolts me from bed. When I woke up, the first face I saw was his.
Now, I’m running on the sidewalk so I can get into his car. Because if I ever let Kai with his wealth, glamour, and money show up on my street, I’d get hounded with multiple questions from different people, and somehow, my mom would find out.
And I’d be really dead.
“What the hell is your problem, you crab?” I hissed, pushing his stupid, expensive car’s door open before settling inside. The idiot turned once I sat, a cocky smirk on his stupid, handsome face.
“Well, good morning to you, too, green.”
“That is not my name, you bald demon.” I hissed.
“Bald.” He gasped with horror, as if the worst thing that could happen to him would be to go bald. The insufferable….I swear I hate him. I hate him so fucking much. Kai was a recluse, alright….at least that was what I thought until I had to spend the past two weeks with him.
After the dinner, Kai made me take a mandatory break from school to….oh, how do I put it, ‘become a proper lady’, he made me eat salads for a week, work out like crazy, attend fucking etiquette classes, and all that shit so I could be….proper. I did not care for all these things, and frankly, I think he does not either.
He just wants to punish me. There was a reason I made sure to steer clear of him and his crew. The rest of the guys….they were mysterious and scary, but I could still read them. Besides that, Lucien, Ace, and Theo had been tamed. Their girlfriends had them completely wrapped around their fingers. Cassian was quiet, always with his head in a book, so it was easy to stay away from him.
But Kai….the guy seemed to hate me.
He made sure no boys ever approached me, daring to tell the entire school I had some curse. That if anyone so much as kisses me, they would have bad luck their entire lives. Why? All because I refused to let him bully me all this time.
I’d been back to Westridge for just three months, but it felt like six years.
“I will have you know I have a head full of hair.” He said, clearly cocky.
“Well, if you piss me off further, I swear, I’ll shave it the fuck off!” I clenched my hands into fists. Just then, the idiot smirked, revved the engine, and zoomed off before I could fasten my seat belt.
The windows were not up, so the action left my hair all over the place.
“Kai!” I whined, pushing my hair from my face.
“Apologize!” he cackled, speeding even more so, the wind made my hair slap my face.
“Never.” I was stubborn….he brought this out in me. I wanted to pretend I hated it…But I secretly loved it.
“Okay, let me just drive past that puddle of water. Maybe it’ll cool you off.” He threatened, and my eyes bulged with fear.
“Wait! Okay…I’m sorry.” I pleaded, giving my best puppy dog look.
“I did not hear you!” he got closest to the puddle, making me frantic.
“Okay….please…I’ll never do it again….I promise.”
“Good girl. Now was that so hard?”
231.
AURORA’S POINT OF VIEW.
A MENANCE TO SOCIETY.
he chuckled, bringing the window up, while slowing down so he drove at a pace normal for a guy like him.
“You are a menace to society,” I muttered while fastening my seatbelt and smoothening my bird nest of hair as quickly as possible before he'd get another idea.
“Careful, green. I’m going to think you’re in love with me,” he chuckled.
“Ha! You wish. The only way I would ever see you as anything other than a red, nine-foot ogre prancing abouit neverland with all sorts of warts on his ass, the skies will turn pink and rain sugar.” I chuckled, my heart rate spiking for some reason.
"A red, nine-foot ogre with warts? You’ve clearly spent too much time thinking about my ass, Green. I’m flattered. You know, other girls would just tell me they want to fuck me outright." He chuckled, and I mock gagged, turning my gaze to the window to hide my blush.
Kai didn't even look at me again, but I could see the victory in the twitch of his lips. With that, he steered the car to the right side, bringing us to a building I’d never seen before.
“What is this now, Kai?” I asked, exasperated. If I have to undergo another session of waxing, I swear I’ll die….i; ll fucking die on the bench before they put that thing on my skin to get rid of non-existent hairs.
“We’re changing your wardrobe.” He shut the car engine and stepped out. Following after him with a huff, I folded my arms.
“I have enough clothes.” I did….it was not anything fit for his status or his perception, but who cares…. clothes are just normal things anyway.
“That look on your face?” he pointed at me. “Kill it. We will go in there, and you will let me pick the best clothes for you, clothes that make statements and not hide you in the corner of a room so Morgan and her bimbos can pick at you. Clothes that show your new status.”
“Status? What, as the daughter of Armando De La Vista, a tier two student?” I chuckled, thinking back to what my father did.
Two weeks ago, just after dinner, before I went to bed, I got the email from school, telling me I had been bumped up from Scholarship student status to the legitimate daughter of business tycoon Armando De la Vista.
Which meant that my uniform, my shoes, and my wing of school would be changed.
The second I received it, I pushed to reheat it. However, before I could, I got Kai’s text telling me not to. He didn't tell me why, but said I should trust him, so I did.
“No.” he stopped in front of me, the sun casting a glow on his perfect skin. He smiled, his ideal, perfectly white teeth on display. “As my fiancé, as the future Aurora Mercer.”
