Chapter 182 HIS RIGHTFUL CHILD....HIS RIGHTFUL QUEEN
AURORA’S POINT OF VIEW.
The second Silas stepped out of the mansion, all hell broke loose. Morgan lunged for me, her arms flailing about her, her hair all over the place, her face streaked with wild tears. Dad held her back as much as possible, but was clearly failing.
“This is a mistake!” Morgan shrieked, her voice cracking as she stomped her foot against the marble floors, Denise frantic as she tried to calm her errant daughter, but failed because Morgan did not once glance at her. She looked at our father, her eyes wide and pleading. “Dad! Tell them! Tell Mr. Mercer he picked the wrong one! He can’t take her!”
“Morgan…calm down….please.” Denise placated, trying to massage her daughter’s back. “You’ll give yourself a headache.” Morgan did not care; she kept acting out.
“I am the rightful daughter! Me, not that bitch, not that slut…..I should be with Kai.”
“Be careful, Miss De la Vista….no one uses slurs against a Mercer and goes without consequences.” Kai stepped in my line of defense before I could speak. I do not think I even want to speak. When you live a majority of your life hearing those words from people like Morgan, it grows on you.
“She is not a Mercer….she can never be a Mercer! I am the rightful queen to that throne.” She yelled.
“You would not know what a crown looked like if it were placed right in front of you, Morgan,” Kai reported, clearly exasperated. He pinched his nose bridge.
“How could you speak to my daughter that way, you ungrateful boy?” Denise stepped forward, probably to scold Kai further, but Dad, with one look, made her stop. Realizing she could not do anything, she grumbled, slapping her feet against the floor before rushing back to her daughter’s side.
“I am so sorry about their outbursts.” Dad chuckled, clasping his hands together while bowing before Kai. “They can be quite…”
“Pathetic?” Kai and I said at the same time. Dad paused briefly, as if he waited to think of what to say…
“If you think that’s what they are, you cannot be wrong.” He did not wait to throw them under the bus.
“Armando.” Denise gasped.
“How could you say such a thing, Dad?” Morgan started with the tears. “You should be on my side. Make her leave, make Kai marry me instead…..I am the second queen of Ravenscroft High after that bitch Roxanne…..she cannot take my spot!” Dad rolled his eyes, not even looking her way. And used to getting everything from him, Morgan pushed further.
“Dad!” Morgan yelled again. This time, she pulled Dad by his clothes.
“Enough!” Dad roared, raising his hand, and next thing I knew, Morgan's cheeks flew to the side… he’d smacked her.
“Armando!” Densie scolded, rushing to a now kneeling, sobbing, shooing Morgan. She held onto her as if she were glass. “How dare you hurt our daughter?!”
But Dad didn't look at Morgan still….for the first time in my life, for the first time since Morgana and her mother came into my life, I watched my father walk over to me, ignoring his precious princess sobbing, kicking, and screaming up a tantrum on the floor beside his feet. He didn't even acknowledge Denise’s scolding or her desperate attempt to pacify her child.
His eyes were fixed on me.
