Chapter 108 YOU THINK SHE'S YOURS?
LUCIEN’S POINT OF VIEW.
I walked hand in hand with my girl to my private locker room, my sweat clinging to my skin as the roar of the crowd in the arena dulled behind us. Opening the door, I let her in first, smirking at the red hue of her cheeks as she buried her face in her hands with a groan.
“Lucien….how could you do that?”
“Do what?” I asked, feigning oblivion as I smiled at her. She had the cutest look on her face as she marched over to the couch and plopped on it.
“You know….that.” She grumbled, folding her hands on her midsection, making me smile again because I knew why I did that. Aside from the fact that my girl is the most beautiful creature in the universe, she was dressed in my clothes. It was like she was sending a message to the fuckers in this school that she was mine and mine alone.
Well, everyone in their right minds would know that, but I don’t believe in doing something like this once. Nothing with her was too much.
I sometimes felt the need to engrave it into the minds of everyone that she was mine; that no one else would have her the way I did.
That I wouldn’t allow it.
“Can you blame me? Looking at you in my hoodie, looking so perfect….it does something to me.” The hue on her cheeks deepens as she tries to hide her smile.
“Well…there’s no action for you today.”
“Why?” I frowned, my already hardening cock at the sight of her jutting in disappointment as I mused over her words.
“I’m on my period.” She said with a pout, and instantly, my chest tightened with guilt. I always calculated her cycle so I would never forget to make her life at least as easy as I could, but trying to uncover the truth about my mother had kept me quite busy.
From what I’d discovered so far… my mother might not have had cancer as we all thought. It was all very vague, but reading her diary was the only lead I had for now.
“Oh, baby.” I moved closer to her, my tone softening at the thought of her in pain. Sitting beside her, I rubbed her abdomen softly as I asked, “You hungry? Are you in pain? What do you need?”
She smiled at me with soft eyes as she said, “Hmm…I’ve been craving some ice cream, but at the same time, I really want some soup too.”
“You know what? Give me a couple of minutes to freshen up, and I’ll get it all to you as soon as possible.”
She nodded, and I got up immediately to rush into the bathroom. The sound of the television coming on filtered into the room, followed by the sound of the shower coming on. I pulled open the shower side cabinet where I kept my shower gel, but was met with the sight of something weird.
There was a note hidden in a red envelope lodged between my shower gel and shaving cream. It looked lopsided and out of place.
‘I don’t remember keeping this here.’
I pulled the note out with a frown and flipped it open. My eyes ran over the content of it; each word sending my heart into an overdrive, as anger rose in me.
‘You think you’re yours; she’s mine! She was always mine, she’ll always be mine. It’s only a matter of time until I have her all to myself, and you’re locked out again. Say hi to my girl for me.’
Beside the rough, jagged, scribbling, there was a drawing of Sloane….naked. The sight had my blood turning ice cold, as my nerve endings rose with tension.
WHO THE FUCK WOULD DARE DO THIS?!!!
My mind raced with different possibilities over who the hell was foolish enough to dare try this with me, knowing how fucking unhinged I got over Sloane. The only people allowed access to this floor, let alone this locker room, were the guys, Sloane, and the cleaners, whom I vetted myself before they got to even enter this place, and it would be with their access cards, which would send me a notification to my phone the second they were swiped.
So, unless there was some ninja motherfucker who no longer liked living, it had to be one of the horsemen.
But that made no sense… those were my guys, there’s no way any of them would fucking do this; not even as a stupid joke. Grabbing my phone from the waterproof case, I quickly pulled open our group chat, took a picture, and sent it to them.
‘Who the fuck thought this was a smart thing to do?’
There was no way it was Theo. He and Seraphina were a thing, even though he tried his hardest to hide it. He was doing a poor job, though, because I clearly saw the way they looked at each other when they thought no one else was looking, how they held each other's hands secretly.
It couldn’t have been him, because he knew more than anyone what Sloane meant to me.
It would never be Cassian….because he had someone he was currently tormenting, and the fucker only cared about himself whenever his current ‘project’ wasn’t around. Besides, the crazy bastard was too head deep in his war books.
That leaves Killian… but even he wouldn’t do this. They were my brothers; we’d bled for each other; we could kill for each other. Everyone else thought we were some cliché high school friend group which would break apart once it was time to head to college, but they had no idea that we’d gone through similar traumas as children.
It brought us together, so nothing and no one would keep us apart.
So who the fuck would dare try this?
Their replies came in with a ding, forcing my attention back to the phone.
‘What the hell?’
Theo texted with a shocked emoji. ‘This shit is so weird. It wasn’t me, Lucien. This is sick as fuck. Who the hell would fuck with you like this? Do they have a death wish?’
‘This is some next-level crazy shit. I’m crazy, but even I would never fuck with you like this.’ Cassian typed, and all I could do was wince at the thought of someone thinking or imagining my girl naked enough to do something like this to her.
Was she even safe?
Wait….did she get something like this?
Sloane was secretive, hell, too secretive for her own good. And I hated it.
She never told me anything, leaving me to find them out myself, and wait for her to come to me while I tried my hardest not to lose my mind. I knew about the email Eldric had sent to her months ago, but I don’t remember her telling me.
I had to check the bastard’s phone records to be sure of it.
So if Sloane had been getting notes like this, she wouldn’t tell me, not unless I probed and pushed her to.
All I knew was, someone would pay for this.
‘I hope you’re saying your prayers, you fucker; 'cause when I come for you, no power in this world is gonna stop me, you bastard.’
