Chapter 38-2

However, it obviously worked out for him and her. The thought of their adorable relationship left an ache in my chest and a sour taste in my mouth. I missed Chase so much. I never knew I could feel this way about a human being but here I am, too emotional to cope. Ew. Who the fuck allowed this? I must punch them in the throat. It was nearing sunset as we finally dragged ourselves from the wedding boutique. Although we lacked bridesmaid dresses, we had successfully found the perfect wedding dress for Penn. It was mid-length, coming to about the middle of her shin. The pearly white material had a square neck with spaghetti straps and a dangerously low back. The skirt had a slit up the side which Penn was really excited about as she performed ninja kicks and stances in the middle of the boutique. Her and Noah were too similar in personality at times. Spencer and Levi were waiting outside, having come to pick all of us tipsy ladies up from the shop. It was so cute seeing Hayley run forward into Levi's arms. He envelops her in a big hug as she giggles lightly. "Hello you." She grins brightly, her lips a few inches away from his. Her arms were locked around his neck and his hands were on her slim waist. "Hello." He replies with a smile of his own and lifts a hand and brushes her ashy brown hair away from her face before kissing her gently, lightly and adorably. Spencer slides up beside me, "Your depression is absolutely suffocating, Hay." "I will shove this up your ass." I snap my eyes to him as I lift the wedding dress catalogue between us. "Leave your kinks for Chase, my dear." Spencer giggles before he takes off down the street to where they must have parked the Range Rover. I chase after him, past Penn and Vera while waving the catalogue above my head. I scream out, no doubt scaring nearby pedestrians, "DID YOU CHOOSE DEATH TODAY? HUH? BECAUSE I CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN!" Spencer cackles manically in front and eventually meets up with the Range Rover. However, not having the keys, he was locked out and his furious attempt to open the door gave me time to catch up. I knew Levi wouldn't unlock the car and that's why I loved him. I landed a punch right to Spencer's stomach as he clutches it and slowly slides down the back door of the Range Rover. He curls up into a ball on the floor and I can only laugh at his dramatics. "I will...dance...to Savage....on your...grave." Spencer wheezes on the ground and I laugh as people walk past, giving the two of us strange and highly disturbed looks. Something both of us weren't new to when we were together. The rest of our group soon joined us and I thanked Levi for not unlocking the door. Spencer and I were fine after I promised him he could lie across the three of us in the backseat because, and I had to say this to him, he was the queen. Spencer was very comfortable on the ride home, with his dirty ass shoes in my lap that he just so happened to put in my face when we went over the slightest bump. I threatened that I would slice his achilles open. Our relationship was just too cute. Levi smoothly pulled into the driveway of David's home and we all climbed out of the Range Rover. I went around the back to help unload the groceries that Levi and Spencer had picked on their way to us. I went to reach for a bag when Vera starts tidying my hair. "Hello?" I ask as she frowns at my face, focusing on my hair, "Can I help you?" Vera gives me an overly sweet smile, "Your hair was just messy." I run a hand through it, the strands smooth and light as I had just washed it this morning. "When is it not?" I scoff as Vera pinches my cheeks and I flinch backwards, "Ow! What the fuck V?" "Sorry, babe." Vera winks at me as she skips off towards the door. Trust her to be weird as fuck and not help with any of the groceries. I watch her with an odd expression as she passes her boyfriend, giving him a kiss on the cheek before continuing inside. "Just go on in, Hay. I've got this." Sam advises as he meets Levi and I at the trunk of car. I give him the same confused expression. "It's fine, if I help you only have to make one trip." I explain as Sam and Levi give each other a quick glance. "Seriously, Hay. It's fine." Even Levi joins in on this one and I put my hands, staring up at the two large men in front of me. "I'm not weak, okay? I can carry some groceries." I grumble as I pick up two heavy bags in my arms, trying to show them I wasn't struggling. "Why is everyone acting so weird today? Is there a full moon or something." Sam chuckles lightly as I walk away from the vehicle and up towards the house. Next is Michael to appear right at the door with his hands behind his back and a smile on his face. "What did you do?" I ask with a narrowed stare, stopping in front of him. "Why do you think I've done something?" Michael asks, seemingly offended that I even suggested such a thing. "Am I seriously that destructive?" "Do you really want me to answer that?" I arch an eyebrow. "True," He nods as he reaches for the bags, "I can take these to the kitchen. You just go on upstairs and take a rest." "I'm fine, little man. I don't need to rest." I chuckle as I side step him and walk into the house. Mom was in the kitchen with the fakest, most stressed smile I had ever seen on her face. I frown, "What's going on?" "Nothing. Why would you think anything is going on? Of course not. I'm just here, standing in the ol' kitchen, wiping down the countertops." Mom rambles as she begins wiping her bare hand on the countertop. "Just an everyday thing in this household isn't it." "Okay, let's go into the living room, my love." David walks into the kitchen as he gently grabs my Mom by the waist and guides her in the living room. He gives me a warm smile and relief floods my system. David was normal, thankfully. "Just leave those there, Hayden." I nod as I place the two bags on the countertop and stretch out my arms. I turn and start walking down the hallway to the bathroom when Noah skids to a stop in front of me. "Where are you going?" Noah asks as he folds his arms across his chest, acting as if he was a bouncing to the fucking restroom. "To pee? Would you like an invitation?" I ask sarcastically as I go to step around him. He doesn't let me and I give him a questioning stare. He narrows his eyes on me, "There's a bathroom upstairs." "There's also a bathroom down here." I narrow my eyes on him, mirroring his expression. "I clogged it!" He bursts suddenly and it startles me. He pats his stomach,  "I had an ice cream just before and it did not go down well. Or come out well." "Oh my god Noah. I did not need that visual image." I screw my nose up as I turn away from him. I walk over to the stairs, seeing Penn standing at the bottom of them with the largest smile on her face. I frown at her in confusion as I begin to climb the stairs. I glance over my shoulder, seeing that everyone had froze to watch me but when they realised I had turned, they quickly went back to whatever there doing. "So fucking weird..." I mumble under my breath as I walk up stairs. I go to head to the bathroom but then realised I still had my white tennis shoes on. I decide to make a pit-stop in my room to take them off. The door was closed, something I don't remember doing this morning. Nonetheless, I head for it and open the door. Whatever I was expecting in my room was definitely not Chase Everett on one knee right in front of the door while holding a tiny little box up in front of him. But there he was, looking so godly and beautiful that all breath was instantly knocked from my lungs. He smiles at me softly and my stomach wanted to pretend like it was in fucking Cirque du Soleil. I also wasn't expecting my response to be so loud and abrupt. "OH SHIT!" I screamed before I slammed the door shut between us. Nailed it.
