Chapter 290 Save her

Chapter 290 Save her
Roy’s POV

I burst into the room, Alexander right behind me. My heart stalls at the sight before me.

Victoria is crouched on the floor, one arm clutched tightly around the twins, the other pressed against Aurora’s side, soaked in blood. Her face is streaked with tears, her lips trembling. And then I see her—Aurora.

She’s lying in it. Blood. So much of it.

“Aurora!” The word tears from my throat as I rush in, my knees hitting the floor as I pull her limp body into my arms.

Behind me, Alexander is already dropping to his knees beside Victoria, his arms outstretched for the children. Scarlett clings to him. Sterling is too stunned to move.

Victoria’s voice cuts through the chaos, thin and breaking.

“Isabel,” she chokes out, lifting a trembling hand toward the half-open door. “Please… please save Isabel…”

The desperation in her voice punches me in the gut.

I look up at Alexander. Our eyes lock. He knows.

“I’ve got things here,” I tell him quickly. “Go. Go now.”

He doesn’t waste a breath. He gives a tight nod, pushes to his feet, and bolts through the door without a second look.

And just as he disappears, Collins and the officers rush in behind us, weapons drawn, eyes sweeping. But I don’t stop to explain.

“Aurora,” I whisper, holding her tighter, lifting her in my arms. “Stay with me. Please stay with me.”

I rush out into the hallway, where paramedics are already setting up. The second they see her, they spring into action.

“BP’s dropping—get the line in! Now!”

They ease her from my arms onto the stretcher, hooking wires into her chest, slipping tubes into her arms. Oxygen mask over her face. The machines beep wildly.

I step back. There’s no relief. Just noise. And Isabel’s still out there.

One by one, the others are led out. But there’s no sign of Alexander. Or Isabel.

“Where’s mom?” Scarlett’s tiny voice pierces through the noise as she clutches my arm. “I can’t find Mommy.”

Sterling wipes his face with his sleeve, voice cracking. “Please go save her, dad. Bring mommy back, please. He adds desperately. “Please save my mommy.”

My throat burns. I stare at them, at their tear-streaked cheeks and trembling lips, and wonder what kind of hell they’ve had to survive in this place. How Cynthia and her mother must have treated them to make them this scared.

Leonard appears beside me. “We’re getting Victoria and the kids to the hospital,” he says.

Victoria is sobbing. “What about Claire?” Her voice cracks. “How can I leave without my daughter? What if she’s not safe? You have to find her, Leonard. Our daughter is out there chasing that evil girl!”

Leonard gently cups her shoulders. “You need to pull yourself together. Aurora needs you. The children need you. We can’t have you fall apart now.”

She trembles beneath his grip, sobs caught in her throat.

“I’ll find Claire. I promise you. But first… you need to go. It’s not safe for you here.”

Victoria looks at Scarlett and Sterling, then back at Leonard. Her eyes swim with pain.

“Please… find my daughter. Save her. Don’t let anything happen to her.”

Just then, Felix rushes over, breath short, urgency in his eyes.

“There’s a secret pathway,” he says. “It runs behind the wine cellar. Cynthia could’ve taken it. I’m sure Isabel and Alexander followed her. The police are already tracking it now.”

I crouch, pressing a kiss to each child’s forehead. “Don’t worry, okay? I’ll bring Mommy home.”

Sterling nods slowly, and Scarlett clings to my sleeve until the very last second, when the officer gently guides her away. I watch as the car pulls off, flanked by sirens and escorts.

As soon as they vanish down the road, I yank out my phone.

A faint beep echoes through the quiet.
The GPS tracker Alexander had on him.

I tap to zoom. A signal. Strong. Direct.

“We’ve got movement,” I alert the nearest officer. “It’s leading through the back. Underground.”

Within minutes, we’re following the trail through a narrow tunnel that opens out—shockingly—into a forest clearing on the outskirts of the city.

How did no one find this before?

Tall trees surround us, branches stretching into the early dawn. It’s eerily quiet. Like something’s hiding beneath the silence.

The commander raises his voice. “Search every corner. Miss Isabel must not be harmed. Move!”

I’m already tearing through trees, shouting her name. “Isabel!”

My voice echoes, but the woods give nothing back.

Then—I stumble. My foot catches on something soft.

I look down.

A bracelet.

Blood-specked. Familiar.

My fingers reach for it slowly. It’s Isabel’s. The one she had gotten for the wedding. Simple but unmistakable.

Why is it here? With blood on it?

My heart drops.

She’s near. She has to be.

Where is she?

My chest tightens. Panic rising, I turn in place, eyes wild. “Isabel!”

No response. Only rustling leaves.

I clench the bracelet in my fist and take off running, deeper into the woods.

One thought burns through everything else.

If anything happens to her… I won’t spare you.
