Chapter 157: Kill me or I will
Chapter 157: Kill me or I will
Third person
“Hello, sister,” Karen sneered, her eyes blazing with fury as she got closer.
She reached where Valerie was standing, and without hesitating, she swung her knife in the air. Adrenaline coursed through Valerie, and she dodged quickly before any harm was done.
“What are you doing?” Valerie fumed, taking swift steps backward, further into the room and away from Karen.
Karen followed. “Come, let me show you.” She lunged forward and swiped the blade at Val again.
Valerie scurried backwards again, her heart racing with fear as she reached for a pillow on her bed. She used it as a shield when Karen swung her arm in the air again. The knife sliced the pillow fabric, fiber bleeding out.
“Don't you think you've done enough harm already?” Valerie panted, heart hammered anxiously against her chest as she spoke. She glanced at the bathroom door that was still shut. Frances was still inside, listening to her music and singing along loudly.
“The fact that you're still alive means I've not,” came Karen's sharp reply.
Reaching for a second pillow, Valerie used both pillows as a shield as she charged at Karen, pushing her to the ground.
Karen lost her balance and fell, the knife slipping out of her fingers with a loud clang.
Val immediately jumped on top of Karen, pinning her in place with her body. She slapped her hard across the face. Karen's face jerked to the side, and she hit her again and again.
“I should have let you drown,” Valerie spat bitterly. Right now, she regretted that day badly. She should have allowed Karen to drown. All these wouldn't have been happening. Adam would still be in jail.
“Too late…” Karen's voice came out as a groan, her eyes flashing with anger as she struggled to break free, but Valerie held tight. “Now you either kill me or I will.”
Then Karen jerked her knee upwards, aiming for the vulnerable spot at the base of Valerie's spine. The coccyx, that tiny bone between her buttocks, was a sensitive area, and a direct hit left Valerie gasping in pain.
Taking the opportunity, Karen pushed her off and then took charge. She clutched a hand on Valerie's neck to secure her head. “I'll be the one doing the killing today,” she declared.
Karen stroked her once, twice… The force from the slaps had Valerie’s mouth tasting crimson and blood slipped from the side of her mouth.
“Aww, someone's going to die because her grandma isn't here to save her,” Karen cooed, her voice laced with mockery.
Her words had Valerie riled up. And without thinking, Val leaned up and jammed her head to Karen's with all her force.
She'd seen it in movies and it looked so cool. But right now, she was wondering if that hit was the right choice, her head hurt like hell and she felt like she'd pass out.
“What was that?” Karen drawled, her hand on her head. She felt dizzy.
Pushing her off, Valerie took charge again. Beads of sweat from Valerie's face dropped and it irked Karen so much as it landed on her.
“Don't you dare pour your body fluid on me!” Karen yelled. She reached for Valerie’s coccyx again, and Val leaned backward instinctively.
Ah, shit, wrong move, Val thought.
Because as soon as she did that, Karen pushed her off and climbed on top, regaining dominance. Karen immediately reached for the knife, but Valerie held her back.
The two women clashed, their bodies entwined as they fought for dominance. They pulled each other's hair, pressed their fingers into each other's necks, and kicked out with their legs. The room was filled with the sound of grunting, panting, and the rustling of clothes.
Finally, Karen's hand closed around the knife. She raised it high, ready to strike, but Valerie's survival instinct was on alert. She grabbed Karen's wrist, holding it in a vice-like grip as the two women strained against each other.
The knife quivered in Karen's hand, its tip inches from Valerie's face. Valerie's eyes were wide with fear, her muscles trembling with effort as she fought to keep the blade away.
“Die!! You fucking bitch!” Karen growled as she pressed harder with all her strength.
Val’s life flashed before her eyes. It seemed like Karen's strength was winning out.
But at that point, Frances burst into the room, a towel wrapped around her chest. She grabbed Valerie's laptop from the desk, brought it down on Karen's head with a sickening thud, and she groaned in pain.
Karen turned to face Frances, her eyes blazing with fury as she swiped the knife at her. Frances tried to dodge, but the blade caught her towel, slicing through the fabric and into her flesh. Blood spilled from the wound as Frances cried out in agony.
Valerie took advantage of the distraction to strike Karen, her fist connecting with Karen's jaw. Karen stumbled back and fell, while Valerie rose to her feet immediately.
She tried to attack Karen again but Karen was already sitting up, her knife swinging wildly as she rose to her feet.
Valerie rushed to her friend, who was clutching her injured thigh, her face twisted in pain.
“That's what you get for trying to come at me,” Karen snarled at Frances, her voice shaky and her breathing heavy.
Though Karen tried to look confident with her knife in hand, her heart raced. She wasn't skilled with a knife and she knew that she wouldn't be able to take both women down simultaneously.
Or could she? Her eyes darted wildly between Valerie and Frances, and then around the room, searching for something that might give her an edge over the women. Her eyes caught the window, where she spotted Elliot running towards the house.
His legs moved so fast and it was almost as if he knew that something was up. Panic coursed through her veins, sending a shiver down her spine.
The ladies noticed Elliot approaching too.
“You can't keep running forever,” Frances reminded her. “We'll catch you and keep you behind bars till you die.”
“Shut your big mouth,” Karen snapped in response, her chest heaving in anger.
“Are you scared of the truth, you loser?”
Karen scoffed at Frances but she didn't say a word. Her mind was already occupied with how to get out of here safely.
She began moving backwards towards the window that she'd come in from, her hands waving the knife wildly, her eyes flashing with a deadly light.
