Chapter 148

Chapter 147
♥️EVE♥️

I rubbed my arms slightly as I stared at the passing light as we drove along the road.

I am seated in a relaxed way in the passenger's seat and staring at the window as more tears flowed down my eyes.

I sobbed silently and uncontrollably. Her heart clenched over and over again as she recalled more of their times together.

Those beautiful times were magical.

They felt real and genuine.

They felt........

God, it was all a sham.

A fucking sham.

He was playing me this whole time. It is not even entirely his fault.

I am at fault here.

All I did was throw myself at him like a desperate slut.

I let him play me.

I told him I loved him, but he never said it back.

I am so stupid!

You are stupid, Evelyn.

I am disappointed in you.

God, what is this?

It feels terrible. My heart is wounded.

It is bleeding non-stop.

Oh God!

What have I done to myself?

How do I live with this?

I feel so shameful.

I can't even say I feel used. I literally threw myself at him.

I have been chasing him since I stepped foot in his mansion.

I couldn't stop myself.

Imogen warned.

Mimi warned me too.

I couldn't listen.

I was only focused on him.

On seeing him.

On having quality time with him.

But I got a harsh blow.

A deserving one.

How will I heal from this?

"Tell me what happened, sweetie," Irina said.

I didn't respond or look at her as more tears flowed down my eyes.

"What happened before the scene? Why were you aggressive towards Adrian?" She asked.

God, I let myself join her in the car because I got a margarine that disappeared the minute she drove.

I don't trust her.

I just have to be patient till I get home, so I can get away from her.

Wait, she hasn't asked me for the direction to my place.

We have been driving for minutes now.

I looked at her.

She is focused on the road.

"Did he do something to upset you back there?" She asked as I sat up, looking at the window.

I can't recognize the road.

The night is making it hard for me to.

"Is something wrong?" she asked.

I looked at her.

She looked between me and the road.

"Where are we?" I asked.

She scoffed. "What?"

My heart picked up slowly, but I managed to ask.

"Where are you taking me?"

"What do you mean? I am taking you home," she said, chuckling in a disturbing way as she faced the road.

"I never gave you my home address,"

She raised her brows at the road.

"Oh you didn't?" she asked.

I furrowed my brows in confusion.

"Geez, I didn't know. Don't worry, I know where you live. You will be home in no time," she said.

I let out a scoff. "What do you mean you know where I live?"

"How do you think you got the invitation?" She asked, making me freeze.

"You.....you sent me the invitation?" I stuttered.

She looked at me.

My heart pounded.

"You are such a dumb bitch, aren't you, Evelyn?" She asked.

"Stop the car,"

She scoffed.

"Stop the damn car now!" I yelled.

She took out a gun from a box next to her and aimed it at me in a flash.

I gasped, raising my hands in surrender as my heart begged to pop out of my body.

"You have some nerve, don't you, little rat?" she snapped calmly.

"I.....I don't under....."

"Shut up," she snapped, shutting me up.

"Promise to stay calm," she said.

I nodded.

"I said fucking promise!" She yelled, moving the gun closer to me.

I whimpered. "Yes, yes, please, don't.... don't kill me."

She scoffed, moving her gun away as she continued driving.

My nerves reduced a bit as I stared at her.

God, what is she going to do with me?

"You pathetic kids of this fucked up generation. You all think you are the big deal, huh?" she asked.

I furrowed my brows slightly as my heart pounded.

"You feel you can eat your cake and have it, huh? Not on my fucking watch." She said, twirling the wheel and taking us towards a strange route with nothing but trees on both sides.

Terror washed my entire being as I stared at the road.

"Not on my watch, you hear me?!"

I flinched.

She chuckled like a maniac.

"I will kill you first."

My heart dropped.

"Well, I can't because I made a deal with someone who needs you badly," she said.

I furrowed my brows.

"I presume they will handle you perfectly," she said, looking at me with a smirk.

Terror watched me again.

"And your precious Adrian will not see you again," she added.

I froze.

She chuckled.

"Ad....Adrian?" I stuttered.

"You heard me, little rat. I don't know what he did for you to push him away like that, but that fucker is so into you. He wouldn't marry me because of you,"

I raised my brows.

"You tiny things cast your eyes on big fishes that are too much for you to handle. Fishes meant for a full-blown woman like me. What is wrong with you and your generation?!" he yelled, aiming the gun at me.

I flinched, my heart pounding loudly.

She faced the road.

"Fucking lunatics! All of you!" she yelled.

God, she wants Adrian too.

I am fucked.

"Please....... don't... don't hurt me. Please," I begged helplessly.

"I wish I could, but I need to deliver you in one piece. They will make sure Adrian doesn't see you again."

My heart dropped again as terror washed me dry.

"After you, I am going for Candela next and then that slut, Dolores," she said, twirling the wheel.

God, she has everything all planned out.

What is she going to do to me?

Why is she taking me?

God, help me please.

"Adrian is going to marry me by all means. He has no fucking choice." She said without looking at me.

Oh God, this is serious.

"Irina, please...."

"Don't you fucking call my name!" She yelled maniacally, making me jump.

"Do you hear me!"

I nodded as tears flowed all over again.

"Fucking bitch!" She yelled, facing the road.

"You....you don't have to take me to whoever....I will leave and never come back, please." I begged.

She chuckled, making me more terrified.

"That's a bad deal, small trash. We are here already," she said, and I looked at the road.

I saw a black van and some men dressed in black attires standing outside the van.

I felt a nut in my belly as we got closer to them.

Oh God.

She stopped the car and the men approached, making my heart pound more than ever.

I shook my head.

"No....." I looked at Irina.

"Tell De'vora I said hi," she said, smirking.

I froze, my eyes widening in terror.

De'vora?

The door opened, ceasing my heart beat as they grabbed me out of the car.

"No! Let me go!" I cried as they dragged me towards their van.

"Irina!" I yelled.

"Toodles!" Irina said, moving her fingers at me as she chuckled.

"Irina, please!"

Irina kept laughing.

I couldn't feel my heart anymore as they continued dragging me. I rested my eyes on Irina.

She is the only one who could save me from them. But she is not going to help me, is she?

She began driving back.

God, this is the end road for.......

BANG!

Irina got shot in the head instantly, causing her car to stop with a screeching sound.

I froze, staring at her.

Her eyes are frozen and she is just still.

I let out a breath as horror filled me.

I looked to my right and at the person that just shot her.

I saw something covered up in black from head to toe, and he had his gun out and pointing at Irina.

He looked my way.

My heart ceased.

He began making fast steps towards me.

My entire body stiffened in great terror.

"No....no... please. No..." He hit me hard on the head.

I felt dizzy.

My eyes lost their ability to see clearly as they gave up, so did my body as it limped.

Darkness took me completely.

AN HOUR LATER........

I opened my eyes slowly, and I saw a blue wall with some broken furniture on the side.

I moved to sit up, still feeling dizzy.

My head banged painfully, making me let out a whimper as I sat up from where I was lying.

It was a cold tiled floor. I am still in my green dress, my face dry of tears and my hair is messy.

I looked around me, taking in my environment.

It looks like a store room with a lot of broken furniture.

What is this place?

I moved and got on my feet, but the margarine appeared harder the minute I got on my feet, making me wince as I touched it.

I looked up at the ceiling and around the room again.

I was quickly reminded of Irina and De'vora.

My heart picked up again.

Next, the door flew open, making me shudder.

Two hefty and scary men dressed in black attires approached me.

I took steps back.

"No....no please," I barely yelled.

They grabbed my arms regardless, tied my hands together and dragged me towards the door.

"Please don't hurt me," I cried.

They dragged me out of the room and along a hallway.

I looked away around me as they dragged me along.

The place looks a bit fancy. I looked ahead, and I saw that we were approaching the stairs.

I looked at the men.

They are both wearing seriousness and danger on their faces.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, looking between both of them.

None of them answered me.

"What are you going to do with me?" I asked.

They took me down the broad stairs and headed towards a very spacious hall with no furniture around.

They took me towards the peak of the hall and I saw someone dressed in black standing close to a huge chair. The person is dressed in black leather trousers and a leather hoodie.

His arm is resting on the chair and facing the wall, but I can see smoke coming up in the air.

Next, I was placed on the cold floor by the men, making me let out a whimper as I looked at the person in black attire.

The men stood behind me as I kept staring.

"De'vora," one of the men called.

I gulped in terror as the person let out more smoke.

De'vora.

Finally, I get to see the bastard that killed my parents.

Even if he kills me, so far I haven't seen his face, I will haunt him......

The person turned around, and I got the shock of my life.

Oh......my...... God.

"Hey, sweetie."

I let out a breathless scoff of infinite disbelief.

"M......mum?"

She smirked at me. "My precious baby,"

Horrific goosebumps filled my entire body.

What in God's name?
