Chapter 108 Give my Female Back!

Chapter 108 Give my Female Back!
Even while she was just licking her lips, that creature managed to look completely sultry!
I felt a bit pressured to drink, which was uncomfortable, but I shrugged it off, chalking it up to my overactive imagination and my anxiety around a woman who reminded me a lot of a scorpion.
The wine was incredibly sweet, with a smooth flavor that tasted just like berry ice cream. We kept chatting about everything and nothing at all. I was feeling cheerful and free, a feeling I hadn't experienced in a very long time. Yet, deep down in my heart, I was still hurting over my situation with the big wolf. No matter how much I hated to admit it, I missed him terribly. I had absolutely no idea how it would even be possible to mend our relationship and rebuild the trust we had lost.
With every sip of the wine, a tight ache squeezed my chest, as if the drink was magnifying the pain of the loss and the distance between us.
"Your face is getting flushed, Luna. It must be the heat. Drink a little more!" Hira urged, refilling my mug all the way to the brim.
"Can I have some too?" the teenage werewolf girl asked, already reaching her arm out toward the pitcher.
"No, Sunna!" the Beta snapped. "This wine is not for pups your age!"
"But the Alpha lets me drink a little! We are resistant to alcohol!"
"Not this one, sweetie. This is strictly for adult females, alright? Go on outside and play for a bit, go on, honey!"
The Beta grabbed the young girl and guided her toward the door.
"But I don't want to go!" Sunna protested. "I'm not a pup anymore! I like having the human Luna around, and there’s no one my own age to talk to!"
"What do you mean 'no one to talk to,' Sunna? General Azis told me earlier that he brought you a gift that you haven't picked up yet. Don't be ungrateful. Azis is a brave, important general, and he only wants to take care of you."
I noticed Sunna’s face go pale. Her shoulders slumped, and she seemed to shrink into herself.
"I don't want to go..." She looked over at me, her eyes welling with tears and her pale face catching my attention. "If Luna Esmeralda doesn't mind my company, I’d like to stay a little longer."
Poor thing. She was so young in a pack that barely had any youth like her. She must feel just as lonely as I did back at Amir's house.
"Oh, sweetheart, of course I don't mind. Come on, sit right here. Help me pick out an outfit for tonight's party that doesn't expose way too much of my body!"

"He's already here, Alpha!"
Derik took a deep breath. The time had come. The sun was setting, and a breathtaking full moon adorned the starry night sky.
"Have you gathered the men?"
"Yes, Alpha! They are scattered throughout the woods, awaiting your orders or ready to alert us the moment they spot any foul play from the New Moon pack."
"It's just a precaution, in case he turns out to be more thick-headed than I anticipate."
"Alpha, my female says the human has already had several glasses of the potion, but she remains steady and sober. Could Lord Agar have messed up the dosage? Is it too weak?"
"The old man knows what he's doing, Eli. Esmeralda will feel the effects of the heat at the exact right moment. Hira even put Bacchus oil in her bath to reinforce the effect."
Eli touched the Alpha’s shoulder in a traditional pack greeting, and Derik returned the exact same gesture.
"May your heir come with abundant health, strength, and honor, my Alpha!"
"Yours as well, Beta! May Hecate bless us with the fertility of our females and plant our seed firmly in their wombs!"

ARES
"That stupid Alpha is making me wait way too long!" I growled.
My third form was fighting viciously to take control and unleash our beast, ready for outright war.
"Can you sense our Luna's aura?" Antero asked, his trained eyes scanning our surroundings with intense alertness.
"Yes. She is inside this piece-of-shit pack's territory. I just hope they haven't intimidated her while she's been here, completely alone with them."
The sound of footsteps echoed as wolves came running toward us.
"Only a few wolves, Alpha. They don't seem to be taking a battle stance," said Anias, who was proving to be a better tracker by the day.
A massive wolf with pitch-black fur and dark eyes came to a halt a few yards right in front of Ares. Within seconds, Derik’s human form shifted into place.
"Good to see you, Alpha Ares! I see you've finally realized that I didn't kidnap or harm your Luna in any way."
"Where is she?" I demanded, having zero time or patience to waste on small talk.
"Inside my estate, getting ready for tonight's celebration. Would you believe me if I told you I moved up our Saturnalia festival just to honor your presence on my lands tonight?"
"I didn't come here to party. I came to take my female back!"
"Ah, Ares, my friend... we have a bit of an impasse here."
"We are not friends! Hand over the female!"
"That's just the thing, Alpha Ares: your beloved human Luna doesn't want to leave with you. Tossing her into a prison cell wasn't exactly romantic, you know? If you want a few pointers on how to treat your female, I—"
My third form seized absolute control, and I shifted. The massive monster lunged forward, grabbing Derik by the throat and hurling him violently through the air.
Derik slammed hard against a tree. The brutal, devastating impact of his fall snapped the wide trunk clean in two, bringing the massive tree crashing down.
Derik's beast instantly took control and lunged back at Ares. Both creatures collided, tearing into one another with lethal teeth and claws of war.
