Chapter 111

Chapter 111
“I like the sound of that. I think she would like that better as well. Maybe bring it up to Yaz it might be something she wants to do. Most of our staff have kids so they would probably like to set up college funds for their kids and with the right paperwork it could be set up to where the school can just send the letter to our HR and they can submit the paperwork for payments to go out but I want to make sure it will cover a laptop and other first year things most families can’t afford. I want to give kids a chance to make this world a better place, to follow their dreams.” I tell him thinking of how I had to save for a long time to get to where I am, to get through school, to start a life here.
“We can do that baby we can call it the Angel Scholarship Fund for the students and Angel Future Fund for those who want to put it to their own business. We can even set up check-ins with grades to see if students need tutors or not. Offer extra help if needed to make sure the families that work for us are doing good. We will have a program to help kids who need it, baby, I promise. We can even set up hardship applications for families who hit a bad time; they can submit with proof of what they need to help when bad things happen. My family has a non-profit we can go through for those the emergency aid. I will talk to my dad about it. Just so it all stays legal for tax purposes. We will give our staff every advantage to make their lives better. You want healing for the guests and staff. I noticed a lot of our staff need a first or second chance so they can leave crappy situations. I love the idea of giving people the chances they need to make their life better. We can have that baby. Now eat before it gets cold.” He tells me knowing I got too excited I forgot about my food. So, I nodded and went back to eat my food.
When we are done, it is time for the doctor to show up. She drew blood and had me pee in a cup. The pee test said positive she brought the prenatal vitamins with her. She said she will personally fill my meds to make sure no one messes with them after everything that has happened. She also said she will see us in 4 weeks and she will call us about our results or any tests she might need. I have been 5 weeks which I guessed since it has been about a week since I was supposed to start my period. After she left Kane made me get comfy in my chair while he linked our notepad programs. We both use the same app, but we never used the link account feature until now. He had papers he needed to fill out for the B&B and work on payroll. He submitted everything for his approval last night. He must approve the timesheets for HR to send out the checks or deposits for staff to go out Monday. While I write my new story about werewolves right now, it’s just a start and not a full idea so it will be a rough start that I will reread and rewrite a hundred times over again. We spend hours just sitting here with music playing in the background doing our work and talking about random things off and on nothing important. He brought me snacks around 11:30 because his sister will not be here until 1:30 with the plates, that’s when lunch is a small amount of downtime. She is going to eat with us today; she has been at work and that will be her lunch time. One of the guys will pack the food in to-go containers for her while she finishes whatever dishes she started before she goes to lunch. The day went by fast, but it was peaceful. Link showed us his saddle before they went to put it in the barn, Kendra told me about how well the new dishes are doing with the guests, and they are a big hit.
I start chicken to marinade for tomorrow while Kane marinades a tri-tip for our BBQ tomorrow. That is what Link wanted to do, so we figured it would be a fun way to celebrate the baby news. I also make 3 different kinds of dips for tomorrow, so they have time to sit in the fridge. We also made a cheesecake and a chocolate pie for everyone. I know Kendra is bringing a slice of cake for her dad because it's his favorite. My dad came by right after I finished with the pie, Kane had to let him in. “Hey dad, do you want any food? We had fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli, and rolls for dinner. I can make you a plate.” I ask him as he comes and sits on the stool.
