78. Old Garden

He pulled out a knife in his right hand and quickly stoned the wall. Canary sighed as the knife sank into the wall. Her face was only a few inches away from the knife. Trembling, she came out and stood out.

"S-Sorry..."

Victor was stunned and blinked when he saw a woman. It has long straight brown hair and grey eyes. Her hair is tied with a blue ribbon. She was wearing a sweater and jogging pants. Its face is red. It was obviously scared of what he did. He felt guilt.

"O-Oh, Miss! Sorry! I didn't mean to! It's you, I thought you were an opponent!" Victor's confused language.

He approached the woman.

"Are you all right? Are you hurt? Do you feel bad? I'm really sorry, Miss! I didn't mean to!" Victor apologized.

Canary looked at the young man in front of her. His many scars on his body caught her attention. None of her own caressed its arm.

"Are they true?" she exclaimed.

Victor lost his composure and was embarrassed to look at the woman. Apart from his friends, no one else can see the scars on his body. He removed her hand.

"I know, I'm not smooth."

"I'm sorry, I was just shocked. I'm Canary Hammilton, and you are?" she held her hand.

Embarrassed, the young man looked at the girl's hand. Victor simply wiped his hand on the clothes he was wearing before reaching for Canary's hand.

"Ahm, my name is Victor Valentine."

He was embarrassed to shake hands with the woman. He quickly withdrew his hand.

"I'm really sorry earlier. Weren't you hurt?"

"I’m not hurt, don’t worry."

"Wait, what are you doing here in the jungle? It's even more dangerous here and you're a woman."

Canary smiled at the young man.

"I will not be harmed because our house is just near here. We live in the old big house. It have a tower, do you see the top?"

Victor looked at what Canary had pointed out and he saw the huge house. No, its an old mansion. If so, they are neighbors.

"You, what are you doing here in the jungle?" Canary suddenly asked him.

He thought for a moment for a reason.

"Ahm... I'm looking for wild cherries. I can't find anything, so I thought I'd just rest here in the old garden."

The woman nodded.

"You, what are you doing here?"

"I like to visit this old garden. I just saw you here. Are you new?"

"Ahm, Yes."

Victor looked at Canary for a long time. Its skin color is not normal because it is pale. This is not a vampire. This person is normal.

"You're pale." he exclaimed.

Canary smiled awkwardly at him.

"Because at our house, they doesn't let me out. In fact, I just ran away now."

"You ran away?!"

"Yes, I'm bored."

'It's obvious.' Language in Victor's mind. He looked at the box with yema cupcakes.

"Do you want to eat cupcakes? I have plenty of them, there in the hut. "

Canary looked at the broken hut surrounded by roses. There is a box there.

"Is not it embarrassing?" she asked.

"No. It's like, I can make up for what I did before. I'm really sorry. It's a good thing you didn't get hurt."

The young man first walked back to the hut and sat down. Canary looked at Victor intently. She did not want to notice but so many scars on his body grabbed her attention. She sat down next to him and he handed her a cupcake.

"Thank you." she smiled.

She bit into the cupcake and she was amazed at the delicious taste then. She looked at her companion who was biting the cupcake.

"Where did you buy it?"

"My friend give it to me. They have a bakery."

"Its delicious!"

Victor simply looked at his companion.

"Are you going to school?" he asked.

"Yes. But there are only girls in the school."

Victor took a deep breath. That's why he just saw it now. He estimated that it was just Rusty's age... He suddenly remembered its surname, familiar to him. 'Hammilton'. He could no longer remember where he had heard that. Canary looked at the young man's scars again. She really couldn't help but be curious. She took a deep breath and...

"If you do not despise... I mean, I'm just really curious, I don't mean anything. Ahm..."

Victor looked at Canary. He gets what it wants to point.

"Is it about my many scars on the body that you want to ask?"

Embarrassed, Canary averted her eyes. Victor took a deep breath and thought to say...

"When I was a child, I was very weak and clumsy. I had an accident, so here is a scar on my body. Fortunately, I kept my face and neck smooth..."

Canary looked at his arms up to his legs and some parts of his body exposed. She could not imagine what kind of clumsiness it was saying. It was scarred. Fortunately, it is white. She shook her head and thought of something else to divert the topic. She does not want her new acquaintance be angry. She has no friends because her family is very strict to her. She is not allowed to go out when she is not in school. She took a deep breathe before she speak.

"I know where you can get sweet cherries. I can accompany you if you want."

Victor smiled.

"All right. I just want to ask... Why do you always come here to the old garden even though it is in the forest? Aren't you afraid?"

Canary looked at the scattered roses.

"I like roses." she replied smiling.

Victor nodded. When they finished eating, she accompanied him to pick cherries. He was impressed when he saw a huge tree full of cherry-vines full of fruit. He quickly climbed up and picked up. In a few moments he went down because he had already gained a lot. He approached his companion.

"Here, get some and bring it home."

The box of cupcakes was the container he used to put the cherries he picked.

"Don't. I will be scolded when they see that. They will know I ran away again."

Canary took five pieces of cherries.

"This enough. I'll eat on the way."

She looked at the tower of their house. Her room was there. She let out a deep sigh.

"Ahm, I need to go home. I'm leaving." she said goodbye.

"I'll accompany you."

"All right, but until the old garden opens."

They began to walk away.

"When will I see you again?" Victor suddenly asked.

"I don't know. But I will definitely visit the old-garden again."

"In that case, I'll wait for you."

When they reached the opening of the garden, Victor stopped walking.

"Thanks for the delicious cupcakes ah? Can I be your friend?" Canary asked.

"I'm your friend."

"Thank you! All right, I'm leaving!"

Canary ran away and Victor just smiled as he watched the girl move away. He looked at the cherries he was carrying and at the flowers in the garden. He took a deep breath and looked up at the sky.

Meanwhile... Grimm was amazed to see the old mansion where their Mother lived when she was still alive. That was nice and beautiful. It is planted all around with white-roses full of flowers. He went to the back and the tomb he made was also surrounded by beautiful flowers. The huge weeds around are gone. He dropped the red-roses he had brought. He was sure, his Kuya Gaunt was the one who did it all.

"Did you know that Lucifer is feeling the pain of the beating you did to him. He said, your just lucky to hit him... But based on his appearance, it is not called luck."

Grimm turned to the speaker and saw his Big Brother Gaunt. It smiled sparingly.

"You did a good job, Grimm. You have already retaliated, but you still lack. What you need is to match with their demon form. And for that to happen, you also need to trigger yours... Your own demon form."

Grimm hesitated to look at his older brother.

"I don't want my demon form to be released. I prefer to be like this.”

"You have to do it, because that's what you really are. When you do that, nothing can stop you. Look at me carefully, Grimm..."

Gaunt wrapped himself in his white-fire. Gradually, his white hair reached down to his ass. His white-demon wings came out. His eyes became more blue and his fingernails grow and became sharp.

"This is my demon-form, Grimm."

Grimm looked at his older brother Gaunt in amazement. The cooler it looks, the more it looks like an angel in its sight than a demon. Its demon wings are very white. He could feel his brother's strange strength. He took a deep breath.

"Belphegor did not know that I could release my demon form. I hid it from him because at the right time, I would use it with him."

He looked at his Big Brother Gaunt's face.

"What do you want, Kuya?"

"The thing you want, Grimm."

Grimm was stunned. Gaunt has returned to his former form.

"Be strong and release your demon form. Think carefully, use your brain."

Gaunt turned around and walked away. Grimm was left to think deeply. He did not know if he could release his demon form... But most of all, he really did not want to release his demon form. He shook his head. Maybe there is another way for him to grow stronger and be match against the Seven Prince of Hell.

Meanwhile... Canary was stopped from entering her room when her older brother Crane blocked her way. Its face is serious.

"You ran away again."

She did not say a word and averted her eyes.

"You can no longer go to that old garden. How many times have I given you. And the more, you will never meet the young man you met in the forest."

"K-Kuya, he's kind. I'm just making friends and-"

"Do you want him to be hurt? At any moment now, that devil can appear and take you. Do you understand why we are so strict with you? Right now, I plan to talk to that young man to keep you away. If he is stubborn to me, he will find what he is looking for."

"K-Kuya!"

But Crane turned around and walked straight. Canary just took a deep breath. Her Grandfather was a good exorcist but once he fought a strong demon, he lost... At that time, her Grandmother was pregnant. His Grandfather begged for mercy from the demon so he was not killed but the demon asked for exchange... A woman in their clan and she was. They were considered a shame in the world of exorcists because of what happened so her Grandfather and their whole family stopped being exorcists. They lived in distant and hidden places. But there was still a problem because people thought they were a family of ghosts, vampires or Satanists. Because of that, they moved away from the people. She did not blame her Grandfather for swallowing his pride. It just prefers family over honor. And she understands the matter.

She finally entered her room and was greeted by her pet black cat Wanda. She caressed it and loaded it. She looked out the window and saw the old-garden full of flowers. She smiled, she will make a way... She will run away again. Is she still going to stop now that she has a new friend?

Meanwhile... Orphen was surprised to see Victor who was in a vacant lot near their house, making a garden.

It is not just a garden based on what he sees. He thought it was still in training but the young man was here and there was something wrong. It goes back and forth in the forest because it takes roses to be planted. It really even took the soil where the plant was planted, it carefully cut the soil so as not to injure the root.

"What's going on with this one?" he said.

He walked closer to the young man who was busy with work.

"I thought you were training?" he asked in amazement.

"She said, she like roses..."

He was surprised by the answer.

"H-Ha? Who likes roses?"

But Victor did not speak anymore and just continued what he was doing.

"Unusual! I think this one is bewitched!"

He eventually helped Victor plant a garden of roses on the vacant lot near his house. It is better that he thought of this thing than to empty the lot.

Meanwhile... Grimm continued to think as he looked at their Mother's grave.

"But what if my demon form can help me to finally beat my father?"

He didn't like the answer he read in his brain but that was the truth. His demon form... He let out a very deep sigh.

"Mother, am I bad when I want to release my demon form? Am I not good when I am able to release my true form and strength? That I will be like my father? I do not want to be bad and even more... I don't want to be like Belphegor."

He really doesn't want to but that's what he needs. He shook his head. He has not yet made a decision. He made a vase made of ice and put red-roses in it. He arranged the flowers and politely said goodbye to his Mother before he left. He thinks carefully about what his older brother suggested.
