My eyes flick down in disappointment when I hear the click of his door being closed. I was hoping he’d come in. Probably finish what he started, but I guess he didn’t feel like it.
Even though my stomach twisted at the thought of Kade getting bored of me, I turned around and walked to my bed. It will be best if I fall asleep now.
“Mia wake up!” Austin yelled behind the closed door.
I grunt, fisting the covers beneath me as I twist and turn. I was tired.
“Austin. It’s Saturday. Let me sleep in,” I practically begged, my voice croaky with the hint of sleep.
“Mom’s making those french toast you like with blueberries and cream. I’m just warning you that I might eat it all if you don’t get down within five minutes.

My eyes snap open at the word french toast. After the night I had, well early morning, I was actually famished.
I listen to Austin’s quick disappearing footsteps and forced myself to get out of bed. I wasn’t going to take his
warning with a grain of salt knowing he’d actually eat all if I don’t get down there.
So I quickly walked to my door, still half asleep and groggy. But as the door cracks open, my hand remains on the cold metal handle as I stared deep into blue eyes.
My breath catches and I pray that I had no drool on the sides of my mouth.
My eyes on their own drop to stare at his lips, which the tip of his tongue peeks out to lick a wet trail on the bottom. My breath hitches, my ears drowning out any other sound than my own breathing.
My lips tingle at the reminder of how his lips felt against mine, the way our breaths mingled. The way fingers burned my skin where he touched.
his
I couldn’t-
“Mia!” Austin yelled drawing me back to reality.
I blinked, shifting my eyes back to his swirling blue. But suddenly, they’re….. emotionless.

He closes his door behind him, his eyes not once moving from my own. “Mia,” He gives a single nod, then
walks away.
I stared at him with my stomach knotting and the heaviness of confusion. Are we back to acting like strangers
now?
Just an acknowledging nod?
That’s it?
Not a single smile to show me that last night meant something to him.
That the way he kissed me, meant that he wanted more. He wanted me.
With a staggering breath, I followed after him downstairs where I can hear the laughter of my parents and the whining of Austin.
I kept my gaze on the back of his feet, not entirely composed enough to even watch his broad back.
Oh, good morning Kade! Did you sleep well last night?” Mom asked, her voice fluttering off the walls warmly.
“Morning, Mrs. Cross. Yes, I did, in fact, I had the best sleep last night than I had in days.” He mumbles, making
a beeline for one of the stools around the island.
“Really? I thought you’d be up by the loud noises I heard last night.” Dad joked but it did nothing but make me
stiffen.
My eyes snap up as I enter the kitchen fully, drawing their attention toward me. Mom beams as she places some
of that french toast on one of the empty plates on the island.
“Good morning baby! Did you sleep well?” Mom questions, her voice chirpy.
What was she so happy about so early?
“Noises?” I asked dad, completely ignoring Mom’s question and fixed myself on one of the stools in the middle
of Austin and Kade.
Dad leans his elbows on the surface of the island and reaches out for his steaming hot cup of coffee. His eyes
flash with amusement as they sweep over to mom who blushed. “Yeah. There were some loud noises but not anything to concern yourself about. Just thought it had kept everyone up last night.”
He takes a sip of his coffee, slightly chuckling when mom grows even more red by the second.

I chewed my lips, hoping he had not heard Kade and I.
But then again, he did say last night. Kade and I did what we did, in the morning.
Acting nonchalant, I shrug. “Didn’t hear anything. Did you Kade?” I asked, taking the opportunity to shift my
gaze to him.
He stiffens and cleared his throat when everyone’s attention had swiped to him. “No. I didn’t. Last night was very….. peaceful and quiet.” He grumbles out, eyes refusing to look at me.
“Huh….guess it was you and I alone who heard those noises, Bella.” Dad teased, chuckling when mom sent him
an annoyed glare.
Rolling her eyes, she pushes the plate filled with french toast and blueberries my way. “One of your favorites baby,” She smiled.
I grinned, getting hungrier the more I stared at the plate. “Thanks mom.

“Mom I said I wanted more than Mia. You gave me two less than her. That isn’t more!” Austin whined, beside
“Austin you won’t be able to eat that much-
“Of course I can! If Kade can do it, so can I. We’re both boys. ” Austin said proudly and pointed at the stack of
french toast on Kade’s plate.
“Austin, Kade’s a big boy. You’re still little. In fact, I’d like for you to stay that way and not grow up too fast.”
Mom admits.
She has no idea how big Kade truly is. He’s so big he might not fit in my hand.
I reddened by how far my thoughts have strayed.
I picked up my fork, swallowing as I try to keep the image of Kade’s cock out of my head.
I couldn’t help it when my eyes peeked at his hand that held his fork. I watch the veins on his hand and the ink.
How long his fingers truly were.
How they fitted inside me snuggly. How I can only imagine how his cock would fit inside me.
I licked my bottom lip, my fingers trembling as a sudden heat made me feel queasy. The fork slips from my fingers, clattering on the plate. The sound is sharp and it’s enough to draw me out of whatever trance I had

been in.
I lift my head to stare at the concerned eyes of mom. I smiled shakily. “Sorry.”
“Are you okay Mia?” She asked in worry.
I nodded, resisting the urge to stare at Kade. I know he was looking at me. I could feel it. Always feel it. “I’m
fine mom,” I assured.
She doesn’t look convinced but nods anyway.
“Hey, Kade. Up for a game in a few?” Austin asked, excitement filling his tone.
“Not today little man, I’m going job searching. Might be out the entire day.” Kade answered after a dead pause.
I press my lips together, wanting to ask him questions but knew he didn’t want to converse with me.
“Oh really? That’s great!” Mom chirps, obviously supporting Kade.
“Yeah. I figured I’m going to turn eighteen in a few months so it would be better if I start supporting myself
financially-
“Kade you know you’re no burden for Bella and me, right? We can support you as long as you want-
Dad starts but Kade cuts him off.
“Which I’m grateful for Mr. Cross but I was always one to fight and support myself. I want to do this on my
own.” He said.
Dad sighs heavily, not liking the idea that Kade didn’t want his and mom’s support anymore but nods either way. “I suppose you want to look for that job on your own too and wouldn’t agree to me helping you?”
“Your generosity is enough already Mr. Cross. I need to do this on my own. I’ll be an adult soon and I’ll need money if I were to get my own apartment. I don’t want charity, I need to do this on my own.” Kade grumbles.
I don’t know why, but the sudden thought of not seeing Kade’s face in the morning or around frequently made me lose my appetite. I wasn’t hungry anymore.
