CHAPTER 114 UNCLE THEODORE IS FIRED

Selena took a seat and stared at the food strangely. “Do I like meat?” she inquired slowly.

Isabel nodded. “Yes, you do.”

Selena shook her head. “But I am a vegetarian; how could a vegetarian enjoy meat?”

“When did you become a vegetarian?” Jade posed a question. “You ate a lot of meat just a month ago, before we went to Grandpa’s, and now you are a vegetarian?”

“It is fine. I will just serve you something else.” Isabel took the plate of meat from Selena’s side. She gave her more vegetables.

Jade’s eyes rolled up. How could a person survive on vegetables alone without meat? “Can you please roll the table over, Mom? I need to have some soup.” Isabel rolled the table over so the soup pot could reach Jade. “Thank you, mom.” Jade had talked with Isabel that afternoon. They must make some changes in order to improve Selena’s living environment. Pretend they are the normal family they never were. This will cause Selena’s feelings to change.

“Thanks... Mom.” Isabel was taken aback when Selena smiled briefly. She raised her head to face Isabel. “Does that hurt? She was referring to Isabel’s bandage on her head.

“Oh, it was just a minor accident, and I am fine now. It is also healing. How is your body faring? Are we relaxed?”

“Even though I do not remember anything, I am glad I came from a good family. You all have such a positive attitude. It is even more perfect than I could have imagined for my family.” She stood to her feet. “I will take the plates to the kitchen and wash them.” Isabel turned to look at Jade as Selena carried the plate away.

“I did not realize memory loss could spark her interest in chores.”

“I know, mother. Selena is becoming more calm. I think we need this behavior for the time being until she regains her memories and returns to being the devil she truly is, but before that, we need to continue being this perfect family so she will be nice to me.”

Titus noticed a car roaring in front of his building. With a smirk on his face, he got out of bed and walked to his window after dropping the book he had been reading for hours to pass the time. Tyler was parked in a spot when he looked out. “Finally,” he stated.

He was trying not to be tempted to leave the house without Tyler, so he took a novel and focused on it to keep himself from doing something stupid.

“Get ready. We do not want to arrive late to the evening meeting.” Tyler exclaimed as he got out of the car and looked at Titus.

Titus gave a laugh. “You do not need to drive me there yourself.”

“I am going to be your personal chauffeur today. I know I have tasks to complete on the field, but I have delegated them to my brother.” He waited until Titus was dressed. Tyler turned his head to face Titus as he opened the door.

“Keys?” Titus motioned towards the car.

“I will be driving you, so... No!” He slid into the driver’s seat and opened the door. As Titus stepped inside, he opened the door and resumed reading.

Tyler spotted it and began laughing. “What in the hell are you reading?”

Titus took a glance at the front page. It contained an erotic graphic. “I had started reading one of Max’s books earlier. I discovered it on her bed when I went to her room to look for her, but she was not there. Anyway, I began reading this amazing book. The story revolves around a girl who had a one-night stand with a stranger. Ran away with his money and car the next morning when she woke up and fled the city. Three years later, she came back to the same city only to realize that the man she was going to work with was the same man with whom she had a one-night stand three years before.”

“Whooaah! That is ridiculous. First of all, the author of this book wrote it quickly.”

“Readers adore fast-paced novels.”

“So, what happened? Please tell me he arrested her.”

“That is even better. He did not recognize her, and after she left, he became cold.”

“That is insane. I can not believe I am even asking about this!”

“Tyler. I am not a fan of books, novels, or even...” he spat. “Romance. But I am going to finish this book. I have to find out what actually happens.”

“What is the title?”

“'One Night Stand with the Billionaire CEO.'”

“So it should be on the internet. Let us talk about it when we get back from the council building.” Titus added a bookmark to the novel before setting it down. As he exited the car, he moved towards the door. Without knocking, he opened the door wide enough for them to notice that someone significant was now present.

They all turned around when light entered the room. Alexander’s mouth hung open. As he saw Titus approach, the scroll he was holding fell to the table. Titus started clapping as he moved towards Alexander. “Oh, brother. You did not even wait for me to be declared dead before taking over?”

“Everyone knows you did not die. You were simply unconscious.”

Titus gave a click of his tongue. “Nope. This is not unconsciousness. I am in a coma. He started laughing when he saw Alexander’s surprised expression. “You were surprised to see me, right?” He picked up the scroll and flipped it open. After reading the scroll’s contents, he shook his head and loudly dropped it back on the table.

“Nobody knew you would wake up so early,” one of the members said.

“Ahhh. I bet you all wish I stayed in a coma forever.” He placed his hand on Alexander’s shoulder and lightly squeezed it. “Is that right, brother?”

“The doctor broke the news to us. He stated that you may not wake up anytime soon. You may be the alpha, but if the Alpha is ill, someone else must take over until the alpha recovers.”

“And you selected Alexander to take over?” Titus turned to look at Uncle Theodore. “I was expecting better, Uncle. And is there a rule that states that a Gamma cannot rule while the Alpha is absent?” When everyone stopped talking, Titus said, “Of course. Well,” he said, clasping his hands together. “Now that I am back, I am taking up my leadership role. Uncle, you have been fired for not waiting long enough. I had higher expectations.” He turned to walk away but was stopped in his tracks. “That is actually not why I am here.”

“We do not think you will be able to remain in that seat for long,” Alexander commented. Titus arched his brow. “Not in the absence of a Luna.”

“You were all present when I showed my Luna during the mating ceremony.”

“We all did, but now that she is gone, we do not think it is appropriate to have an Alpha without a Luna leading us.”

Titus began to laugh. “My goodness. What do you mean she is not there?”
