“What is in it for you if I finally become a leader? Because I don’t think it is free.”
Uncle Theodore gave a sigh. “All I want is Titus to get out of that chair. He and his father do not deserve any of this. I made his father an Alpha by removing Easton. I did all of this for my sister.”
“The Luna.”
Uncle Theodore responded with a nod. “You will do a better job than Titus. That is all I know.”

“She is losing more blood. I am afraid if this continues, she will not be able to survive."
“Do anything to save her. She cannot die. Not yet!” Easton said this to the doctor before turning his attention to Henry. “What news did Damian find?”
“The Alpha is in a coma. He is been like that for five days. I believe this is the best time to seek my revenge and ambush.”
“Hold up. You understand that is not how I fight. I am not going to be a coward and do it like this. That is not my style. Must I remind you that you have no say in this? You are my machinery, Zeta; all you have to do is do your job! You owe me, and I believe it is time for you to pay.” Damian gave Easton a tap on the shoulder before walking away. Easton sighed as he took a seat in the nearby empty chair. He leaned back against the wall, folded his arms, and shut his eyes. He needs to figure out how to persuade Damian to reconsider ambushing him in that manner. What is the point of fighting if the other party is not even awake to fight? His fight was with Titus and the elders, not with the innocent ones who had no idea of his life or parents.
He sighed as he stood up again. Pacing back and forth. He watched the doctor carry out his duties inside the room. The thought of Titus being in a coma made Easton happy. At the very least, they are now paying back for what they did to his parents. When he saw the doctor leave the room, he stopped pacing. Easton rushed towards him. “How is she doing? Is she okay?”
“She has been bleeding for five days, despite the stitches and treatments. I did my best to save her this time, but if she bleeds again, I am afraid she will not be able to survive.”
“Why is she not healing, though? She is supposed to be healing.”
“You told me she was a turned wolf. Her healing will be slower than yours. It looks like her body is rejecting treatments. I guess this is the first time she has had Monkshood in her system.”
“What do you feel I should do? When do you think she will be able to wake up again?”
The doctor shook his head. “Only time will tell. You can see her right now.” He stepped away. Easton was able to see through the transparent door. He took a deep breath and walked into the room.
His ears were filled with the sound of the monitor beeping. He took his seat next to her. He reached for her hand and said, “I think it is time you wake up. I know I am not the person you want to see, but you must open your eyes. Selena, what kind of hatred do you hold within yourself? I have heard that your family is looking for you. Please open your eyes.”
Easton vividly recalls what happened that night. Selena’s body had been found on the beach. Even though they had no connection, he had a feeling she was in danger. When he found her, she was dying, with an arrow almost through her heart. If he had not rushed her to the hospital, the Monkshood would have entered her chest too soon. Selena must not die. Not until he gets his revenge, and she will be helpful in achieving this goal.
He got up from his seat and went outside. He could not bear looking at her like that. Not that he cared, but because he hates it when he sees people feeling weak. It always reminds him of his childhood, which he has struggled to overcome no matter what he does. Easton reached for the bottle of water he bought, and as he opened the cap to drink from it, he began to hear conversations. It was Damian, and he was speaking. Easton turned around to see who was there. He groaned as he took the water. He approached Damian with rage and punched him in the face the moment his face was visible to him. “You should not even think about doing that. You are going to ruin everything.”
Damian groaned. He wiped the blood from his lips with the back of his hand. When he looked up at Easton, he started laughing, which confused` Easton. “So you heard,” he stated.
The bottle of water fell from Easton’s grasp. As he bent down, he grabbed Damian’s collar. “You would not dare.”
Why don’t you want her to die? It is that simple. I hate the fact that you have been wasting your time treating her rather than killing her and doing your job.”
“I am doing my job. She is my job.”
“Or maybe you are in love with her.”
Easton immediately dropped his collar. “No. I am not. Why would you think about that? She is too young for me.” He exhaled. Easton extended his hand to Damian and raised him to his feet. “I don’t like Selena, and the sooner you realize that, the better.”
“So why are you doing all of this?”
“Because she will be the key to everything. We can make it through Titus with her. If I poison her mind, we will get what we want. Stay away from her, okay? Don’t harm her unless you won’t like what I am going to do.” He walked away from Damian, and when he entered Selena’s room, he was shocked to see what had happened.
