Chapter 92 : You Are Too Precious
Chapter 92: You Are Too Precious
Sophie
I looked at the multiple dishes on the table, Adriano had outdone himself. We were sitting under the gazebo around a circular table with candles in the middle of it which smelled nice. There was a soft rain today and it felt amazing and suited the whole atmosphere.
“This is nice.” Luciano said, looking up at the sky through the glass made ceiling of the gazebo.
“Perfect for your birthday.” I smiled.
“Yes, it is.” I muttered.
It was perfect, the rain and them, it could not get more perfect than this. We ate, talking amongst ourselves.
“I don't like art much.” Adriano said, suddenly and he was honest with his opinion.
“I don't like anything that is made up much.”
“But you love lying.” I said before I could stop myself and he rolled his eyes.
“But you forgave us.” I shrugged.
“Little brat.” He muttered.
“What about astronomy, baby?” Luciano asked softly.
“I bet some of your art buddies take that class.”
“Oh,” I threaded my fingers together.
“T.they do.” He raised his eyebrows.
“That is interesting.”
“Yes,” I whispered, drinking more wine. Angelo took it from my hand, shaking his head.
“We don't want you drunk for what we have planned.” I gulped.
“Oh,”
“I think I saw you buy astronomy boom boom for college though.” He said. Why could he not let it go?
“Did you?” He hummed, eyes reflecting the candlelight.
“Yes, tell me why you are lying unless you fancy red ass.” I bit my lip, looking down at my lap.
“I am dumb in it.” I muttered.
“And I am dumb in business and economics. I can't do anything but art. It is incredibly dumb, my astronomy professor probably hates me, he doesn't hate anyone.”
“Princess,” Luciano tipped my chin up, pressing a lingering kiss on my mouth.
“You are not dumb.” He assured me.
“I am kind of.”
“No,” he kissed me again.
“You are brilliant at art, I bet your astronomy professor can't hold a candle to your masterpiece.” His thumb brushed over my cheekbones.
“Don’t question your worth, baby girl. You are too precious.” My face heated up, I covered it with my hands.
“You are going to make me blow up.” I grumbled and they all chuckled.
“You are too fucking pretty.” Angelo said, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
“You are not dumb, okay?” I nodded my head.
“Okay, daddy.”
“The only one dumb here is this guy.” Adriano pointed at his brother Luciano and he rolled his eyes.
“Does anyone intelligent spend half an hour on his hair?” Luciano fired back.
“You spend hours trying to figure out what to wear.”
“Because I needed to look good for my kitten.”
“You never looked good, Adriano.” Luciano deadpanned. Angelo rolled his eyes, shaking his head. I giggled as Luciano and Adriano kept bantering and Angelo smiled at me.
“I love you,” he whispered, kissing my cheek.
“I..I..” I bit my lip.
“I love you too.” I whispered and he froze.
“What?” Luciano and Adriano stopped arguing. I bit my lip, looking at Angelo and then at Adriano then at Luciano.
“I love the three of you. I think I have for quite a while. I..I..” I bit my lip.
“After Joel, I could never feel safe, I always felt like he was going to jump out of every corner but you three made me feel safe, loved, happy and so many things which I didn't think I would ever feel.” I looked down at my hand.
“I love you knowing you keep secrets, I love you knowing you might never tell them but I will always love you three, that is one thing I am sure of.”
A comfortable silent befall on us.
“Say that again,” Adriano said and I looked up at him.
“I love you.” I whispered.
“Again,” Luciano said, looking dazed.
“I love you.”
“One more time,” Angelo muttered.
“I love you.”
I would tell them that as many times as they wanted because they needed to hear it. I could see the agony in their eyes, I had seen it leak out in red from Adriano's arm. I had seen it in the tears Luciano had shed and I had seen it in the way Angelo had begged me to promise hom that I would stay. I didn't want that agony in their eyes anymore, I wanted them to feel as happy as they made me feel. I wanted them, the scars and the tears, the pain and the pleasure, the lobe and the fears. Then Adriano's phone buzzed and he frowned.
“Sorry, kitten.”
He took his phone out and read the message, the phone was crushed in his hand and my eyes widened.
“Adriano?” I called.
“What the fuck happened?” Angelo asked.
“It is Nia and Tim, they were staying in our mansion with the kittens, it got bombed.” He let out a breath.
“They are injured, we have to go now.”
They stood up, Luciano looked at me.
“We will be back in the morning.” He said and I shook my head.
“I want to come.” Angelo shook his head.
“No, you are the main target, Sophie. You are not coming with us.”
“But…”
“But nothing.” Adriano said sternly, walking closer to me. He grasped my upper arms, looking into my eyes firmly.
“You are going to be a good girl and go to your room, okay?” I didn't want to but I nodded. I wanted to see if Nia and her father were okay. Adriano let go of me and in a blink, they were gone.
I sat back down on the chair, feeling cold dread wash over me. Max and Nia were hurt.
‘You are the main target.’ Just how many people were going to get hurt for the main target? Ten people at the cafe, Sarah, the Rizzos themselves and now Max and Nia. I brought my shaking hands to my face, tears slipping out.
I don't know how much time I sat there, the rain had gotten harder and the candle had been blown off by thr wind. I felt someone placed a jacket over me and I looked later up at Callan Santoro with blurry eyes.
“Come on, Sophie. It is too cold to stay out. Do I pick you up?” I nodded wordlessly.
He picked me up and took me inside the mansion.
“It is not your fault.” He tried to assure me.
But it was, wasn't it? Others were collateral damage. It was me that Ridoam Taghi wanted to hurt. It was me that my father wanted to ruin and not the others. Everyone was getting hurt and dead just because of me and once again, my birthday turned bloody. Am I cursed?
