Chapter 10 : Let's Be Friends
Chapter 10: Let's Be Friends
Sophie
I walked to the office the lady had ordered me to go to, passing my two offices that had an initials of A.R and L.R written on them and the last door had A.Rj written on it. I pushed in front of the large brown door which had a sparkling white knob. I raised my fist to knock but then hesitated. Why was I here? I should have said no to her. The Rizzo scared the shit out of me but they intrigued me. Damn me and my curiosity.
“How long do you plan to linger in the hallway, Sophie?” Adriano asked. Were they all here?
I took a deep breath of bravery and pushed the door open. Luciano was sitting behind a clean large sleek desk, Angelo was sitting by a large window with Adriano across from him. The office was big, really fucking big with a large bookshelf on the right. A world map on the wall adjacent to it which looked vintage. The floor was sleek black marble, on the desk was a sleek globe with white lines marking the world. The laptop was black and a few files which looked important as heck. They looked at me, and then kept looking, not saying anything and I felt the urge to run.
“You look beautiful, princess.” Luciano said, walking closer to me.
I took a step back without planning to, a predatory smirk came on his lips. He walked towards me with my back hitting the door I had just closed. He didn't do anything, he just looked down at me while invading my personal bubble.
“Where are your manners, baby girl.” He raised his eyebrows at me.
“T..thank you, Luciano.” I mumbled, one of my hands grabbing the edge of my shirt. His eyes went down, doing a quick scan of my body and then landed on the milkshake I still had in my hand.
He took it from my hand and took a sip, my eyes widened. That was an indirect kiss. He smirked at me.
“Let's have lunch, okay?”
“I..” I began but was cut off.
“We ordered some cool meals.” Adriano said, standing up and walking towards us and stood beside me.
“Stay for a while.” He whispered. I bit my lip.
“I don't know…”
“We can be friends.” Angelo said, standing up and walking towards us too. Now the three of them had caged me against the door.
“Can't we, little bunny?”
I looked at the three of them, my eyes widened. Friends with them? They just looked at me, waiting for me to say something.
“I..” I cut myself off. What was I supposed to say?
“We can be friends.” Adriano picked a strand of my hair and rolled it around his finger.
“We will be good friends, princess.” Angelo said as he cupped my cheek with his large hand, his thumb brushing over my cheekbone.
“What do you say, little bunny?” Luciano picked my hand up, gently rubbing the underside of my wrist. I shivered at their touches, making their eyes darkened.
“Okay,” I mumble because I saw no way out of this. Because they intrigued me.
I was curious, very fucking curious about them. They smiled genuinely and my heart gave a silly little jump at that.
“It is a little undercooked.” Adriano said, showing me the edge of the bruschetta as he laid it down on my plate.
“The chef probably roasted it for a little.” He kept glaring at it.
“Really, Adriano. No one cares.” Luciano muttered, eating his lasagna.
“Did you not order cake, asshole.” He asked Luciano.
“Yes, I ordered the fucking cake.” He grumbled.
“And I am not giving it to you.” Luciano looked at me.
We were sitting around a square table in the office. I was settled in the large chair which Luciano had rolled for me as there were only three chairs in the office. I knew I looked ridiculous in the large black leather chair.
“Do you like chocolate cake, princes?” I nodded, looking at Luciano.
“Yes?” It came out as more of a question. They share a look.
The oldest triplets, Luciano stood up and walked out of the office, after a few moments, he returned with a black box in his hand. He kept it down on the table.
“After lunch.” he said to me and sat back down in his seat.
We ate in silence, even when Luciano and Adriano were fighting, it was hard to forget who they were. I was a little uneasy but I had to admit, the lunch wasn't bad. I didn't have any male friends, so I guess that also played a part in my uneasiness. They didn't seem like men who had many college girls as friends. I didn't even get why they wanted to be my friend. If I was not cool enough for my classmates, how was I cool enough for them?
Maybe they were lonely. They were rich men, maybe they didn't have many people to turn to. But do you feel that weird flutter in your stomach when you see your friends or when they say your name? They were nice to me and they gave me cake, which looked really expensive and tasted really nice. That was pretty much all that matters.
It was late at night when my phone buzzed, I groaned, snuggling deeper into my sheet and it buzzed again. I dragged one hand out of the layers of my blanket into the coldness of my room and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. My heater had somehow broken down and now it was so cold in my room I could barely stay here. I turned the screen on.
‘Are you up?’
‘I wanted to ask you something.’ I frowned suddenly wide awake.
I rolled to lay on my stomach and texted Adriano back. They had put their numbers on my phone earlier today at dinner, texting themselves so that they had my number too.
‘I am up.’
‘Okay, I am calling.’ My heart jumped at that.
The familiar ringing tone of my phone filled my small apartment. I stared at the name for a second and then picked up the call, nervousness fluttering in my stomach. I curled into a ball and put the phone on my ear, wincing at how cold it was.
“Kitten?” His husky voice greeted me. He sounded as if he too had been sleeping before he texted me.
“Did I wake you?”
“It is okay,” I whispered.
“My apartment is really cold so I..I could barely sleep anyway.”
Only one stutter in the whole sentence, that was good.
“Why is it cold?” He asked and I sighed.
“I am coming to pick you up.” I heard the rustling of the sheets.
“Be ready.”
“Adriano..” he hung up on me and I huffed.
He could have listened to me. I closed my eyes and in a few minutes, I was asleep again.
