Chapter 92(Jenny and Lucas)

As the door closed behind Maya, the room fell silent for a moment. Then Vera spoke up, her voice laced with amusement. "Well, that's our fearless leader, always on the go." Mrs. Julia chuckled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "Yes, Maya's always been a driven person." Anna nodded in agreement, still feeling a bit uneasy from their earlier conversation. She wondered what Maya's problem was and why she seemed to dislike her so much.

Antonio, oblivious to the tension, continued to chatter excitedly about his pancakes. "I love pancakes, Mrs. Julia makes the best pancakes in the world!" Vera laughed and ruffled Antonio's hair, her expression softening. "That's because you're a pancake connoisseur, Antonio!"

Anna smiled, feeling a sense of relief that the conversation had shifted away from Maya. She began to feel more at ease, enjoying the warm and lively atmosphere of the breakfast gathering.

As they finished their breakfast, Mrs. Julia stood up and began to clear the table. "I'll get started on the dishes, dear ones. You all go about your day." Vera nodded and stood up, stretching her arms. "I'm going to go work on some designs for the garden. Want to join me, Anna?"

Anna hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then she nodded, feeling a sense of curiosity about the garden and Vera's creative projects. "Sure, I'd love to help."

As they walked out of the dining room, Antonio called out, "Can I come too? I want to help with the garden!" Vera laughed and scooped up Antonio in a big hug. "Of course, kiddo! We'll make it a garden party!"

Anna smiled, feeling a sense of excitement. She followed Vera and Antonio out into the bright sunlight. As they walked through the garden, Vera began to explain her plans for the garden. "I want to create a beautiful and peaceful space, with lots of flowers and greenery. What do you think, Anna?"

Anna nodded, feeling a sense of enthusiasm. "I think it's a great idea, Vera. I'd love to help. I never knew you were good with horticulture."

Vera's expression turned somber, and she spoke in a low tone. "My mom loved flowers, and I learned from her. It's just something that's always been important to me." Her voice trailed off, and Anna sensed a deeper sadness behind Vera's words.

Anna's eyes widened in understanding, and she reached out to touch Vera's arm. "I'm sorry, Vera. I didn't mean to bring up something painful."

Vera's expression softened, and she smiled weakly. "It's okay, Anna. It's just...my mom passed away a few years ago, and sometimes it still feels like a fresh wound." Vera knew very well her mother is very much alive but she's held captive. She couldn't wait to complete her mission so she could finally be together with her mother.

Anna's heart went out to Vera, and she felt a deep sense of empathy. "I'm so sorry, Vera. Losing someone we love is never easy."

Vera nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "Yeah, it's been tough. But I've found that gardening helps me cope. It's like...it's a way for me to connect with her still."

Anna smiled, feeling a sense of understanding. "That makes sense. I can see why you'd want to create a beautiful garden."

As they walked through the garden, Vera pointed out different plants and flowers, explaining their names and characteristics. Anna listened intently, fascinated by Vera's knowledge and passion.

After a while, Vera stopped in front of a small, overgrown patch of land. "This is where I want to start our new project," she said, her eyes shining with excitement. "I want to create a sensory garden, with plants that smell and feel amazing."

Anna's eyes widened in excitement. "That sounds incredible, Vera! I'd love to help you make it happen."

Jenny was wanted by the college authorities, and she was currently hiding from them. She had managed to evade them so far, but she knew it was only a matter of time before they caught up with her. She needed a safe place to stay, and she knew just the person to turn to her boyfriend- Lucas.

She made her way to Lucas's company, her heart racing with anticipation. When she arrived, she was greeted by the receptionist, who looked up at her with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

"Can I help you?" the receptionist asked, her voice polite but firm.

Jenny sneered at her. "I'm here to see my boyfriend," she said, her voice rude and dismissive.

“And who is your boyfriend?“ the receptionist asked, clearly irritated by her character.

"Oh! I forgot to introduce myself, Well I'm Mr lucas mistress. And don't bother announcing me, I'll announce myself."

The receptionist looked taken aback by Jenny's behavior, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she nodded and picked up the phone to call Lucas.

"Mr. Lucas, there's a young woman here to see you," she said, her voice hesitant.

Lucas's voice came over the phone, deep and commanding. "Send her in," he said.

The receptionist nodded and hung up the phone. "You can go in now," she said to Jenny.

Jenny smirked at the receptionist and walked into Lucas's office. Lucas was sitting behind his desk, when the door barged open he fixed his eyes on her

"Jenny," he said, his voice neutral. "What brings you here?"

Jenny walked over to his desk and leaned against it, her eyes flashing with pride. “So I ain't welcome to visit my boyfriend in his office.

“You always visit when you want something, just go ahead and state it. I have work to deal with right now.

"I'm in a bit of trouble," she said, her voice cocky. "The college authorities are looking for me, and I need a place to hide."

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "And you thought of me?" he asked, his voice skeptical.

Jenny nodded. "You're the only one I can trust," she said, her voice confident. "And I know you'll help me."

Lucas leaned back in his chair, his eyes studying her. "What makes you think I'll help you?" he asked, his voice calm.

Jenny smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Because I'm your girlfriend, Lucas," she said.

Lucas's expression didn't change, but Jenny could see the interest in his eyes. He was intrigued by her, and he was willing to listen to what she had to say.

"So, what do you propose?" he asked, his voice neutral.

Jenny leaned forward, her eyes flashing with excitement. "I propose that you help me and I will make my uncle sign that contract with you," she said.

Lucas nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving hers. "I'm listening," he said with interest displayed in his eyes.

"I have a plan," she said, her voice confident. "We can work together to take down the college authorities and clear my name."

Lucas raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "Then what next?" he asked, his voice calm.

Jenny's eyes locked on his, her gaze burning with intensity. "You will hire thugs to kidnap Anna.“

"Anna" he said, his voice low and husky. That horrible name that reminds him of a deadly secret.

“Do you have a picture of Anna?“ Lucas said with curiosity.

Jenny felt lucas suddenly behaviour was strange after she mentioned that name anna but she still decided to show him her photo.

Jenny showed him the photo they took at the shopping mall.

“Lucas' eyes widened so much that it could even fall out. He closed his eyes and opened it to confirm what he was seeing.“

“Do you know her?“ Jenny asked because she could understand why Lucas was suddenly acting weirdly.

“Noo!! Noo! I don't.“ Lucas muttered. He couldn't believe Anna was still alive but also Marcus is treating her well.

“So how is the plan?“ Jenny asked.

“It's good, I will help you since it's a new-new. Lucas said.

He didn't just help because of the contract but also because Anna was a threat. If Anna suddenly comes back for revenge not only will she take back her fathers company but reveal his secret and he won't let all his effort be wasted.

“just wait anna, i could kill you before but this time i will make sure i give you a gruesome death.“ Lucas said in his mind.

Suddenly, Lucas stood up, his movements fluid and powerful. He walked around his desk, his eyes never leaving Jenny's.

"Come here," he said, his voice low and husky.

Jenny's heart skipped a beat as she stood up, her eyes locked on Lucas's. She walked towards him, her movements slow and deliberate.

As she reached him, Lucas's arms wrapped around her, pulling her close. Their lips met in a fierce, passionate kiss, the tension between them exploding into a frenzy of desire.

As they kissed, Jenny knew she had Lucas's attention, and she was determined to keep it. She was his, and he was hers, and together, they would take on the world.
