Sheena
After I killed the couple that were living in the house in the place that I did not know, the pinkish cloud brought me back to my mansion. Until now, I have been unable to understand why this is happening to me. The old woman was probably just making a monkey of me. She knew that I felt the difficulty of this curse, but she still did not say anything about it. Well, it was not her fault at all, it is my fault, because I am so choosy that I don't want to talk with her.
It's still midnight, and I just brought the pinkish cloud into my mansion. I know that there are marks of blood on my clothes and I can smell them by myself. I take the winding stairs down to the living room. It's already midnight, and the servants and workers may be sleeping in the rooms.
The darkness seemed to want to swallow me. I groped for the light switch and turned it on. I was not wrong; I saw in the antiquated mirror that my clothes had many red marks, especially my skirt, because it's white.
The door suddenly cried out. I saw in the long mirror that it was Amara who got inside the living room. She is a butler in the mansion and I trust her so much. She is the one who is always supervising everything in the mansion. She is wearing pajamas and pink sneakers right now. She is going towards me and is appalled by what she saw.
"Gosh!" Amara exclaimed. "Sheena, what happened to your skirt? Is that blood?" She asked in a stupefied manner.
Finding an alibi. I do not want her to doubt that I did something wrong, unlawful, heinous, or criminal. I don't want her to doubt that I am killing people. Most of all, I don't want her to draw the inference that I was a ghost who was searching for a victim every night. I don't want her to leave me. Maybe she already noticed that I am always gone from the mansion every night.
"It is... Yeah, it... is blood..." I stammered, and told the truth. There is something came to my brain. "You know I am a girl, and I hope that you can understand what it means." I tried to speak normally.
Perhaps it can be used to avoid the scourge of truth. It made me confused that even I am already sixteen—I don't know why. Maybe I am an abnormal girl. I do not know why I am not having a period, or maybe even just an exclamation mark, or I am not human. I only knew about it because it had been discussed by my teacher and also a tutor when I was still studying.
"Do you mean that you are having yours?" she asked, confused.
"Yeah, that is it." I can see in the mirror that her face became confused. Maybe she felt it was difficult to believe that I was having the thing that they called a menstrual period—and that I didn't know how to manage myself.
"Are you sure that you're just okay? Do you know what to do?"
"Yeah... Of course, just leave me there. You maybe tired."
"Okay, but just call me if you need help or anything."
Amara goes towards the door and goes back to where she came from. I felt relieved because I had avoided the scourge of the truth and the possibility that people would hate me. I go towards the bathroom, open the door and shut it. I turned on the shower and took a cool bath that shudders me.
I really need to be careful, so that nobody can know my secret. I need to find a way to cover it, or else I will be alone in this huge mansion. I know who I am but have no idea what I might be. I am not a wicked girl, though sometimes I am mad. But it does not mean that because I am mad, I am already bad, that I don't have any feelings. Being mad with a reason is not a bad thing at all. The bad part is that you are mad without any reason.
We are all born mad and the other remains the same, but it does not mean that we cannot avoid it. Others are trying to change themselves. I don't know if I am thinking about this thing or if my mind has been affected by the curse of the old woman. I don't want it to happen, that even my brain will be affected. I know that I cannot be who I am if every part of my body is controlled by this selfish curse. I don't know what will happen to me or if I will be picked up. My wish is that the curse won't touch my brain, or else I will be crazy and forget myself.
After I bath, I use my pinkish towel to dry myself and wear my black leather coat and long pants. I am still shuddering because of the cool water. I dry my hair by using the hairdryer. While drying my hair, I remembered someone. He was none other than the man named Steven Klee.
No woman can easily forget him. I want to know more about him. I don't know why I got interested in him. I thought there were many other boys out there that were younger than him. Maybe what I want is more mature, more masculine, a man that can save me in times of difficulty. I want a man who can be a hero to me, because I have never had experience of having one. My father cannot protect me or even protect himself from those people who killed him and my mother. I know that what I want is difficult to get, because I want a man who can sacrifice his happiness, preferences, beliefs, and even himself for me.
It was already 2:00 am when I climbed into bed. I don't have any idea how many hours I wasted in that place. What I only knew was that there were two innocent people that had died because of me.
Though I am already in bed, I cannot fall asleep because I can see someone even in the darkness. Someone that is just here in the mansion, someone that I want to see, I saw him by the power that was given to me. I don't know if this is this kind of power, but I am happy that it knew what I wanted to see.
Steven Klee is already on the bed in the room where the men are sleeping. He was in such a deep slumber that I could even see that his chest was slowly moving up and down as he breathed. I even fell in love with the way he breathed.
O mother, please don't be angry with me. I knew that I was not this kind of girl. I don't want to fly lower, but my body is telling me that I want to sleep with him in one bed. I wanted to feel his warm breath and let the night pass by.
"Goddammit! What are you doing here? Are you watching me sleeping? Can you get out of my face, you ugly woman?" I scowled. I sprang from my bed, donned my pink sneakers, and went towards the window. I opened it and let the sunlight enter my bedroom.
This day is so bad because I had not slept well, and then I was irritated that the first woman that I saw when I woke up was the old woman who cheated me. She was wearing a long, black pants and leather coat, the same with the clothes that she was wearing when I first saw her. Her ugly face seemed to have changed a lot. Some of the veins on her face that seemed like snakes and wanted to bite me had disappeared.
There is one more thing that I realized about the old woman. She is not too ugly at all, and her eyes are mauve. That made me curious, because we have the same eyes. Well, I do not think that we have a connection to each other just because of our eyes. I am not bragging, but I don't want to have any connection with this old, ugly woman, because she was so cruel.
"What kind of demon are you that after what you did you still have courage to face me?" The old woman is just sitting on my upholstered bed, seeming stuck in her position as she looks at my pillow. Maybe she was watching me sleep all night, but I know that she would not show her face to me if she did not need anything.
It seemed that she was out of consciousness and not awake, but asleep. Maybe she was a crazy woman who was watching me even when I was sleeping. Maybe she was watching me all of her life and that's what made her know everything about me. Even when I was still in my father's testis, she was already watching me. Maybe she was watching me when my parents were making love, when I went out of my father's sex organs, and when I was going towards my mother's egg. This woman was watching when my mother was giving birth to me. She was watching me everyday. I never expected that there was a woman like her who was minding other people's lives and businesses. She cannot even change her clothes, but she still has time to irritate me. She is definitely a brazen, huge hussy.
I went back towards her and because I was so angry, I could not control myself to slap her face, but I had failed my take one. I tried it again to see if it was real, and I realized that it was weird because she seemed like a demon that I could not touch. My hand is just passing by on her face, or in the air. Maybe I was crazy that I could see her but not touch her. What a ghost she is.
I noticed that her eyes were both closed. I don't know what to do or how to wake her up. Because of the reason that I cannot touch her, I don't know what to do or how to wake her up. So I decided to shout in her ear, though it seemed like the work of an insane girl, because it was just the air that I wanted to shout in and not the ear—not the ear of the woman.
"Hey, freak, old woman, what are you doing inside my bedroom?" I asked in a loud voice.
It seemed that she was affected by my shout because she suddenly opened one of her eyes and looked at me. I was thinking if she would ask me if it was already morning and if what she was doing was in my bedroom, but I was wrong.
"Sheena! How dare you not respect someone who is older than you? Have you forgotten the sins that you committed that you are making yourself clean in front of me?" She asked. Ingratiatingly. I want to kick her out of this world so that she cannot do any wrong to others.
I am not perplexed any longer if she already knew my name. This time I control myself because of outrage—to fight against an old woman, a ghost–like or demon, I don't know how to explain her. What I only knew was that she was wicked. I don't even know who she was; maybe she was already dead and it was her spirit that I could see and talk with. It was drastically horrendous, but there was nothing that could stop or defeat the outrage that I felt towards her.
"How dare you say that after you had destroyed my whole life? You are a heartless demon!" I tried to lower my voice so that nobody could hear me downstairs, but it was uncontrollable. Even the liquid from my eyes are falling.
Though I was angry, I was also thinking that maybe she still had a little concern about me. As she reminded me to respect elderly women like her, she also reminded me of the sins I had committed. But it was not me who did those sins, but the curse that came from this ugly demon. I knew that there was only one person that I had killed during the time when the curse was not controlling my body. He was the zombie boy that I don't want to remember anymore. Well, it was not me who had been wanting to kill that boy, but himself. I would not have killed him if the pinkish cloud had not brought me there, to the place where he died.
This freaky old spirit is the one who was making herself clean in my front, though there are many cruel things that she did, not only to me, but also to the four people that I had killed. She was so heartless that whatever I did, she could not recognize her mistakes.
"Calm down, Sheena, and don't cry. I did not come here to fight you. Instead, I am going to help you get rid of that curse." Her face seemed worried, but I won't believe in her face expression because it can be fake.
Though I don't want to talk to or see this demon again, I also cannot avoid the fact that I need her help to get rid of this. I knew that she knew many things about me, and she might not have meant to put this curse on me. I was now experiencing what they called a dilemma, a woman versus herself. Maybe I need to calm myself first and think for a while about what to do. I wiped my tears, went towards the window and looked outside.
She went towards me and said, "Sheena, I know that you are baffling now, but there is nothing to lose if you conspire with me, because we both want the same thing." Her voice told me that she was serious about every word that she was saying.
"How can we say that we want the same thing? You are crazy."
"Sheena, don't deprive or deny it. I am not crazy and I have known you for a long time. We just want the same thing and that is to be free."
"How can I make sure that we want the same thing, and you are not fooling me again? You did not even tell me anything about yourself. How can I trust a woman or a ghost like you?" I asked. I don't care if I hurt her with my words; it does not matter anymore. I know that she doesn't have a heart or feelings, because she is not human, but a spirit.
"I am Alicia and I am already dead. There is just one thing that makes me not want to rest in peace. That is because I cannot be free from the cursed. The same with what you are experiencing now–there was also someone who cursed me. Even though you won't believe me, I did not mean to put you under a curse. It is just that I needed to do it, so that I could also be free. If you conspire with me, our goal will be accomplished easily."
"I will only conspire with you if you remove this curse from me!" I exclaimed. Seriously, I don't want her to use me for her own interests, because I also have mine.
