Chapter 7
Henry’s mother-Grace-rushed to Henry as soon as she entered, hugging him tightly.
Her trembling fingers brushed over Henry’s swollen face, and tears immediately poured out.
“My precious son! How could you be beaten like this?”
She suddenly looked up and glared at me, her eyes full of venom.
“Gabriella! You violent maniac! My son was cursed for life by marrying you!”
Ethan’s face was dark, and he slammed the golf club in his hand heavily on the floor, making a harsh crashing sound.
He pointed at me, his voice trembling with anger: “I said from the beginning you were unreliable! Now your true nature has been revealed-actually daring to hit people!”
The relatives behind him immediately echoed, everyone accusing me.
“That’s right! A woman who lives off her husband, and she still dares to be arrogant?”
Henry’s aunt’s voice was shrill, her fingers painted with dark red nail polish almost poking my nose.
“If we hadn’t been soft-hearted back then, you never would have gotten into Grant Corporation!”
“Ungrateful bitch!”
Henry’s cousin sneered, deliberately bumping me aside with her shoulder and crouching down to help Lily.
Lily leaned against her, pretending to be weak, coughing a few times.
There was still blood at the corner of her mouth, but her eyes secretly glanced at me, flashing with triumph.
Henry immediately broke free from Grace’s embrace and rushed to Lily’s side, cupping her face.
“Lily, how are you? I’ll call an ambulance right away!”
Then he turned around without hesitation to roar at me.
“Gabriella, you’re going to prison for this!”
The room was in chaos, with curses and cries intertwining.
I stood in the corner, calmly observing this farce as if it had nothing to do with me.
When Grace saw my silence, she took it as guilt and attacked me even more fiercely.
“Now you have nothing to say? You were vicious enough when you were hitting my son!”
“I’m telling you, you’d better sign the divorce agreement according to our terms!”
“The house and cars all go to Henry, and you leave with nothing!”
“Also, get out of the company tomorrow-you’re fired!”
Henry’s aunt added with her hands on her hips: “Right! And you have to pay Henry and Lily compensation for emotional distress!”
I finally spoke, sneering as I asked back.
“Why don’t you ask me why I hit him?”
Everyone froze.
The room instantly fell quiet.
I took out my phone, opened two video clips, and turned the screen toward them.
In the first video, Henry and Lily were kissing intimately on a hotel bed.
In the second video, Lily wore my nightgown, holding a wine glass, showing a mocking smile toward my and Henry’s wedding portrait.
After watching, everyone’s expressions changed from anger to shock, and finally only embarrassment and silence remained.
Henry’s face was pale, his lips trembling, but he couldn’t say a word.
Lily curled up on the floor, her eyes evasive, the triumphant expression completely gone.
Ethan’s face became even darker. He stared at Henry and asked in a hoarse voice: “What is this about?”
Henry opened his mouth but couldn’t defend himself.
Grace snatched the phone from my hand and watched the videos again.
Then she looked up at Henry, her eyes full of disappointment and heartbreak: “Henry, you… how could you do such things?”
Henry finally broke down.
“Mom, it’s not like that! These videos are fake-Gabriella is deliberately framing me!”
I looked at him coldly.
“Whether they’re real or fake, you can call the police to verify.”
“Now, why don’t you explain why during our anniversary trip, you would be in the same room with Lily at dawn?”
“Why would she appear in our home wearing my nightgown?”
“Why would my mother’s portrait be trampled under her feet?”
The last question made my anger explode from within, almost to the boiling point.
