Chapter 120 Apology

Henry raised an eyebrow, his voice cold. "Do we really need to be polite with each other?"

Maria felt a mix of shame and anger at his words. She glared at Henry, her face hardening. "What do you want?"

Henry was quiet for a moment, then sighed softly, sounding a bit helpless. "Are you still mad?"

Maria was taken aback, finally understanding his question. Was she mad? Yeah, she was angry, but more than that, she was hurt. Henry walked over and leaned in close to her. Startled by his sudden move, Maria instinctively tried to pull away, but then she heard Henry say, "I'm sorry."

Maria looked up at Henry in shock. Was he apologizing to her? She never expected Henry to apologize, especially now. She instinctively glanced at Henry, only to see his gaze fixed on her. Maria suddenly realized that she was completely naked. Her face instantly turned bright red. She bit her lip and looked at Henry, saying, "Have you seen enough?"

Henry's eyebrow twitched slightly, a hint of desire flickering in his eyes, though he didn't show it. He reached out and started unbuttoning his shirt, his voice a bit rough. "No, not enough."

Maria's face turned even redder. She couldn't tell if Henry was here to apologize or to tease her. "Get out. I'm taking a shower."

Maria's cold tone was undermined by her blushing face. Henry nodded but didn't move to leave. Maria thought he hadn't heard her and was about to repeat herself when she saw him taking off his suit and then his shirt.

Henry was very handsome, with a great body. Watching him undress was quite a sight, and for a moment, Maria forgot to stop him. It wasn't until Henry was completely naked and stepping into the bathtub that she instinctively moved aside.

In an instant, Maria snapped back to reality, but it was too late. Their bodies intertwined in the bathtub, and by the time Henry carried her to the bed, Maria's lips were slightly swollen, her skin flushed, and her eyes dazed and seductive.

Henry's voice was husky as he whispered in her ear, "Is it okay?"

Maria could feel the penis pressing against her genital area. She became more aware, her fingers unconsciously gripping the sheets. She didn't know how to respond, but she did know that she didn't mind being with Henry like this.

Henry waited patiently for her answer, not rushing her. Maria bit her lip, ready to take a chance, but just as she was about to speak, a phone rang, interrupting her.

It was Henry's phone, but he ignored it. Maria gently pushed him. "Your phone is ringing. You should check it. It might be important."

Henry frowned, clearly annoyed, but he went to check his phone. Seeing the name on the screen, he answered. Diana's voice quickly came through.

"Henry, I know I shouldn't be bothering you right now, but I have nowhere else to go. If it's inconvenient, I..."

"Where are you?" Henry asked, his frown deepening. If he remembered correctly, Diana was staying at a hotel with Ava.

Diana gave him the address and reminded him before hanging up. "Make sure to tell Maria, so she won't worry."

Even though Henry's phone wasn't on speaker, Diana's words were loud enough for Maria to hear. She looked at Henry and took a deep breath. "Just go."

"Sorry, I'll be back after I take care of Diana," Henry said, his eyes showing a hint of regret. Maria didn't respond, curling up under the covers. The desire in her body quickly faded.

Henry looked at Maria's back, wanting to explain but not knowing how. He had told Maria many times that he only saw Diana as a friend, almost like family. They had grown up together, and Diana had been with him for a long time.

But Maria always misunderstood their relationship, even though Diana wanted to get along with her.

Thinking about this, Henry didn't feel like explaining. Considering Diana's current situation, he put on his clothes and left the room.

As the door closed, Maria wiped away the tears that had gathered at the corners of her eyes, letting out a bitter laugh. She slept fitfully that night, waking up just as dawn was breaking. After getting ready, she went downstairs. Ethan was already up, sitting on the couch reading the newspaper, with Kenna beside him holding a storybook.

The harmonious scene warmed Maria's heart. The sound of her coming downstairs caught their attention. Kenna saw her and gave a big smile. Since coming to the Smith Villa and receiving careful care, Kenna's face had filled out, making her look even more adorable.

Maria couldn't help but smile back and greeted Ethan. "Grandpa, would you like to go for a walk?"

Ethan nodded, then asked, "Why are you alone? Where's Henry?"

Maria's smile faltered, and she lowered her eyes, her voice soft. "He had something to do last night. Grandpa, let me take you outside. Kenna, can you follow us by yourself?"

Ethan's face darkened. He could tell Maria was avoiding the topic, which meant Henry's absence was likely related to Diana.

Thinking about it made Ethan angry. Diana had done terrible things, yet Henry still couldn't see her true nature.

"Grandpa, are you okay?" Maria asked, seeing Ethan's face turn red as if he couldn't breathe. She quickly grabbed his medicine and water. Dora, coming out of the kitchen, saw this and screamed, "Mr. Smith, what's wrong?"

She rushed over, trying to push Maria aside, but Maria had already given Ethan his medicine. After a moment, Ethan waved Dora away, looking tired. "I'm fine now. Go back to the kitchen. I've got Maria to take care of me."

Dora reluctantly left, glaring at Maria, who ignored her and looked at Ethan with concern. "Grandpa, are you feeling better?"

Ethan nodded, but he looked exhausted. Maria didn't mention going for a walk again and sat with him on the couch. Dora soon finished breakfast, and the three of them sat down to eat. They had just started when Dora's excited voice came from the door. "Mr. Smith, you're back! Breakfast is ready. Come in and eat."

"Okay." Henry's voice came from outside. He walked in, still wearing the clothes from the night before, looking a bit disheveled and tired. Seeing Ethan, Henry asked, "Grandpa, are you feeling better? Why do you look so pale?"

"Mr. Henry Smith, you don't know. This morning, Mr. Ethan Smith suddenly got sick and scared me to death. Luckily, Ms. Brown was there to give him his medicine. But I don't know why he got sick," Dora said, her voice trailing off.

Henry looked at Maria, his tone accusatory. "Why did Grandpa get sick? What did you say to him?"
