Lycan Mystery

With the lost claw which helped her become invisible now at the tip of her fingers, Alorea travelled in secret with the same people who were looking for her. Her plan was to use their better knowledge of the landmarks to her advantage.

Also, she needed information about the things that were going on in the palace and what plans of Daemon and his court were conveiving concerning her and her people. Then when it was night and they all had rested from their travel, she would steal a horse amd one their maps, escaping on her own towards the palace as fast as possible.

"I just need to wait till night, then I will take off." She said.

It was not really important that she reached the palace faster than Clingy. If he did reach the palace before her and presented his stolen box before Daemon, he would still be punished for not having the fifth claw.

"Just a few more minutes."

She just need to wait for a few more minutes and night would come.

Finally, the skies darkened and Alorea skipped forward with her light invisible feet. She had the mystery claw tied right around her neck like a pendant, that way she would always remain invisible.

As she sneaked into the little house created in the carriage, right behind the incredibly large horses, she took care not to make a single sound. If she did, then she might be done for even though nobody could see her yet.

It was particularly weird that the giant foxes would travel using a carriage and horses. They were the vicious wolves who were coloured like foxes. They were the ones who loved to travel only in their wolf body. But today, the story was different. Even though they had no prisoner, Frey had decided that they would approach the palace with horses. Alorea knew he had made this decision just so to buy himself some time. After failing like that to capture her, it was sure that he would not like to face Daemon yet. He was probably hoping that something would happen before his arrival at Daemon's palace.

Nevertheless, she had to find the map she had come for as soon as possible.

"Where are you? Where are you?"

Searching through loaded goods, Alorea searched fervently. Even when she made a little noise, the soldiers jerked up in suprise only to find no one and deciding to go back to sleep.

Finally, there is a golden coloured big letter rolled into its inners and bounded by a red strap.

"There you are..."

Grabbing the letter, she rolled it open and found that it was indeed what she needed.

The paths were carefully plotted out, way better than Clingy's old cloth map. She could see that all she needed to do was just ride straight ahead till she got to the city.

"Not bad..."

She heard a voice from inside one of the tents made atop the carriages.

"Do you think the alpha wants to punish us?" It was the voice of the scarred leader. He seemed to be talking to someone higher in rank, or someone he respected. His voice was not as impulsive and rough as usual, but was more collected and calm.

"Who is that?" She wondered. It did not sound like the voice of a regular giant wolf yet it seeemed like a familiar voice.

"No, I do not think this is for punishment. Alpha Daemon is not the kind mince word and actions. If a general deserve punishment, he will be arrested, not summoned." The other figure responded in a quail old voice.

"So what can this be about?" Frey was beating his brains, trying to get an answer. It was obvious that he could not ignore the suspicion of the situation, and he could not sleep without the thought of Daemon stuck in his mind.

"I think this is about that boy." The voice responded.

"Which boy?" Frey drew closer, Alorea could see his shadow move towards the other person.

"The slave boy. Princess Shereena is planning something with him. Something evil. Something ominous. She might even be plotting to dethrone her father..."

Those words were secret, never to be heard by anyone else. It could lead to a death penalty.

Alorea felt she needed to get a glimpse of this person. Who were they? And how were they brave enough to utter those words in the presence of one of Daemon's most trusted giant fox.

As she peered through a hole which she created, holding it apart with her finger, a little part of the man's face was visible to her. He was a old fellow, grey and familiar.

"Is that...." The vampires who captured her on her way from Nathan's palace when she was trying to escape in the future. When the trap caught her, the face she saw beside Demeatris...

"Vampire..."

A cool breeze blew slowly through the hole which she created, fast and windy. The two men turned to the direction at once.

"Who is there?!" They yelled, making Alorea to gasp aloud.

She stumbled to the back and her leg tripped, making her drop on her butt. The noise rose in the ear, and the men became even more at alert.

Alorea could hear them stand, they were coming to find her. She had to run.

As she took to her heels, the entire party woke up too, awaken by the yells of Frey as he growled in his wolf form.

"There is an intruder! Find them!!"

Alorea was now outside. She held the stolen map close to her chest as she tiptoed pass the lines of soldiers who could not see her.

On a horse, she sat and began to ride.

"What is wrong with that horse?! It has no rider!!!" One screamed.

"It doesn't look like there is no rider!!" Another responded, confused.

Before they could determine the situation, the horse had taken to its four heels, seperating from the rest of the crew.

"Stop the horse!!!" Frey said but it was too late. "Forget the horse! Find the intruder!!"

"There is no point." The old man who was speaking to Frey earlier noted. "The intruder is gone with the horse."

"What? But there was no one..."

"Invisibility... Whomever it was, they had the claw of invisibility..." The old man shook his head in assurance. "They must have stolen something..."

"Captain Frey! The map! It is gone!!" One of the giants ran in from nowhere.

"So that is what they came for..." The old man stroke his white beards with a slow run of his fingers. "It is safe to assume that this thief is going in the direction of the king."

"What should I do now...?" Frey asked again, he was always asking questions.

"You do not need to do anything, Captain. Just ride like you did before. Ride towards the gate. There you will be able to capture your enemy."
