Melissa's POV
The door of the room opened and standing next to it was Patricia who bowed at me.
"Ma'am, your attention is needed"
I looked up at her, I was still dwelling in the nightmare I just had with the strange man and his final words on getting me killed. It gave me great chills around my body and I couldn't help the way my heart beat just knowing that there was something waiting to kill me.
"My attention?..."I paused, raising a brow, "Who needs it?"
"The Gamma, he insist you come to the hall now, he wants to have a talk with you"
I knew at once that she was referring to no one but Tinox.
I felt a bit nervous wondering why he called for my attention with the presence of Nelson. This is the first time such us happening and I couldn't help but feel very curious as I wonder why.
"Alright, infirm him that I will be there soon"
With a slight nod, Patricia walked out of the room leaving me.
At once, I got on my feet, walked towards the wardrobe filled with clothes and picked a yellow gown which looked comfortable enough. I got dressed, brushed my hair nicely and got out of the room heading towards the hall.
So many unspoken words ran through my mind.
Why am I being summoned?
Is anything wrong?
Does Tinox feel that I might have done something wrong?
But I haven't!
Yes! I know this.
The memory of our first meeting and how smoothly it went, I knew at that point that something bad might not have happened.
"Well, there is only one way to find out," I asserted just a few feet away from the door.
I walked into the hall only to find Tinox who stared at me with a warm smile on his face. Seeing his calm look, a feeling of relief swept through me and I noted strongly that something isn't wrong at all.
"You sent it to me," I uttered, breaking the silence.
"Of course I did! You have had a difficult time setting eyes on these past few days and I know it will be nice to see you" he replied nicely.
I stood close to him with a smile on my face, "I am sorry about that"
"No,come on, you don't have to…" he quickly countered, "It's a good thing that you are taking your time to rest after the incident"
Confused, I raised a brow,"What incident?"
At first, Tinox looked surprised at my question, "You saved Nelson's life of course. That lad is way too stubborn, a chip of the old block, exactly like his father. I warned Nelson not to journey on such a risky mission alone but instead, he stubbornly refused, we there alone and was killed if you didn't save his life"
I chuckled, "I didn't save him, I hardly did anything to him. I just found him deep in the woods and if not for the help of Conri who arrived at the right time and saw us both, I would have taken longer hours to bring Nelson to the pack and this must have killed him more…." I paused taking a deep breath, "The accolades should be given to Conri and not me, I did nothing"
The smile on Tinox's face didn't fade off at all, something which greatly surprised me.
"You did a lot Melissa. You were the reason Conri was able to track Nelson. When I spoke to him, he said that a familiar scent led him to you two. At first, he was confused and wondered whose scent it was until he saw you and realize it's no one else but yours"
I stood still not saying a word as I listened to Tinox words.
A familiar scent?
The same scent which led to where I found Nelson's body.
Is this Fated or just a coincidence, I just can't pinpoint it.
"So, you saved Nelson's life and I am happy you did, maybe with this, he can be able to see that indeed, he do need you in his life and this can also change his thoughts towards you"
I shook my head, "I didn't do it for me and Nelson to get along. He does not owe me anything, Nelson saved my life twice and I am just seeing this as a way of returning his favor, nothing else"
An unexplainable look appeared on his face.
"Hmm,I do understand you Melissa, I know the implications surrounding your two relationships, it's something new and very difficult for you to accept, I understand clearly but right now, you both have to patch up your differences so that the coronation can take place."
Dumbfounded, I glanced at a nearby window and returned my gaze at him,"I don't know what to say" I admitted not hiding the fact.
"Yes it course and I understand you but Melissa, this isn't the reason I sent for you"
Curious and surprised at the same time, I narrowed my gaze at him wondering what he was about to say.
"This isn't?" I Implored.
"Yes, it isn't," he nodded.
"Oh…"I muttered, my eyes not leaving him, "If this isn't the reason, why did you send it to me?" I inquired politely not wanting to sound rude.
Tinox took some steps closer to me, "Well, I just have a question to ask you Melissa"
Nervous, I nodded,"What question?"
"Well, I just want to know how you got to find Nelson. I am sure that you haven't been in that part of the woods yet but you were able to get to Nelson without anyone directing you…" he paused with flickering eyes, "It's just so strange and Surprising, you left the pack without any of the guards noticing and found your way to Nelson before Conti could. It's just something that amaze me and I will like to know how you achieved this''
I stared right back at him completely speechless. I expect this question from him although I was already asked by Conri.
"I…I" I stammered, unable to find the right words to say.
At that point, I didn't have the answer myself, it just happened with a nightmare that woke me and I felt a force pushing me out of the pack and into the woods. Everything happened so fast before I could detail them and I wonder if telling Tinox about the nightmare will make me look like a psychopath.
"I don't know how it happened, I am very surprised. All I am sure of is that I woke up from a nightmare and found a strong force pushing me out of the pack and into the woods. I just followed my instincts even without the knowledge that Nelson is in need of help…." I paused with flickering eyes, I took a deep breath as I glanced at Tinox who didn't take his sight off me, "I didn't know how it happened, I just knew that a force lead me to Nelson without me having an idea that I was heading towards him"
The hall stood quiet, almost for some minutes, Tinox didn't say a word and neither did I. It was clear that he is trying to process all I just said to him now. My words didn't make any sense to me and I am sure that he does feel the same way too.
"I do understand" he finally spoke to my surprise.
"You do?" I was greatly surprised.
"Yes, I do. Come to think of it,I feel that you and Nelson might have a special bond. The moon goddess never makes mistake, she do know that a time like this will arrive and she provided you before it did"
The door of the hall opened and to my surprise, not far away from where I stood was no one but Nelson who looked very surprised to see me with Tinox.
