The Dream.
Melissa's POV
The cold wind blew endlessly swaying leaves around as the thick darkness of the night overwhelmed me. Confused, I scanned around panting very heavily, the sight of tall trees shone right in front of me accompanied with the cricketing sound of the night insects.
"Where am I?" I asked myself with flickering eyes. My breath was still as heavy as ever, my hair swayed in different directions and I looked down at my feet only to find them bare, the night rope I put on was so close to my skin that I could easily see my nipples pop out.
I took two steps away, all I could see were more tall trees, their leaves fell drastically to the ground bringing more tension to my body.
"The woods" I muttered, my eyes widened in shock.
"How did I get in here?"
"How?!" My heart raed faster than ever.
I couldn't hear any other sound apart from the sound of insects and my heavy panting. Looking up at the sky, I noticed it was bright enough, the full moon shone brightly making the path I stood on so clear.
"Hello!" I let out loudly, my voice echoed through the night but I got no reply at all, instead, my voice bounced back at me.
As scared as I was, I began to wander deeper into the woods. The more step.i took, the more the atmosphere brought a certain weird feeling that subdued me.
The last incident I had in the woods, an incident that almost took my life filled my head. With trembling eyes, I turned around in search of a werewolf lurking around but there was none In sight.
"How did I get here?" I whispered to myself again, this time, I felt so miserable that my heart was about to explode with the thought that I might be eaten alive with no one ready to save me.
I don't recollect leaving the pack and with the way I was dressed, it was obvious that I got ready for bed but instead of finding myself in the comfy bed, here I am in the woods with no idea of where I am.
A strong wind passed, the Hem of my dress moved to its touch and my hair covered a part of my face. Immediately, I heard footsteps behind me, it was so clear that I knew right away that I was being watched by someone.
My heart leaped with terror.
I turned around but saw no one, only the tall grass moved indicating that someone just passed by.
"Hello" I muttered with a dry mouth. Gulping really hard to the point that my throat hurt, I gazed more hard than ever but before I could utter another word, I heard a sound behind me.
I swerved around, panting very heavily with my hair scattered into different directions, the moon light shone so gracefully that I could see all the trees but no sight of any human or a wolf.
"Am I hallucinating?" I asked myself, closed my eyes but quickly opened it in fear of being attacked.
"No way! I am not! I am sure of this!" I said to myself still scanning around but there was no sign of no one, an act which was about to drive me insane.
Quickly, the cry of a wolf filled my ears, my heart suddenly jumped to my stomach and the realization that I was afraid stared right back at my face.
I heard a sharp sound behind me, trembling like a wet leaf. I slowly turned around only to find a wolf staring at me with sharp red eyes. It's eyes blazed like sharp fire, sharp enough to cut through my skin and make me bleed to death.
It howled, staring at me with deep hatred buried in its eyes, slowly, its mouth opened as its tongue came out, thick saliva dropped slowly as I watched them with shaky lips.
That moment, I couldn't move, my legs froze due to shock and with enlarged eyes, I slowly raised my hand pointing towards it.
"Stay away" I let out almost in a whisper. As I spoke, I felt thick dryness buried in my throat.
A loud howl escaped his mouth, the wolf took a step towards me, its red eyes became so bright that I found myself suddenly drawn to it.
"Melissa" I heard the wolf call out to my shock. Its voice was so thick and muscular that it brought nothing but chills down my spine.
"Don't you remember me?" The wolf inquired with deep fury as it stared at me about to attack.
As confused as I was, I wanted to utter some words but nothing came out. The shock that overwhelmed me was stronger than any other feeling I have felt and I didn't understand what was going on anymore.
"Talk to me! Don't you remember me?!" The wolf growled with anger, his red eyes flashed through my face.
"Leave me alone" I suddenly found the urge to scream and immediately, I turned around and began to run away from this wolf who was about to have a great effect on me.
Annoyed by my act, the wolf began to run after me. I could hear his fast racing feet, which brought an intense spark through my spine, filling me with fright.
I was not about to give up or let me die in the claws of this animal, no way! There is no one here to save me so it's up to me to save myself.
The moonlight was so bright that it showed me through the path without any cause. As I ran, I could hear the growth of the wolf not far away from me.
"Leave me alone!" I screamed racing faster than ever but the more I ran, the more it felt like I was standing at a spot, a realization that was about to shred me into bits.
"You will pay Melissa! I won't let you go this time! Remember me Melissa! Do remember!" The voice of the wolf rang through the dark woods but I didn't care, I must get away, now or ever.
Suddenly, I tripped and before I could help myself, I found myself falling so deep into a large pit. Heavily, I fell to the ground, my face facing the ground.
"Arh!!' I screamed in pain. A thick liquid crawled from my forehead down to my lips. Feeling it on my tongue, I realize it is nothing else but my blood, a realization that scared me to my bones.
Slowly, with pains all over my body, I got to my feet, gazed up only to find out that I fell six feet into a hole.
"Help me!" I screamed but my voice bounced back at me, my heavy panting filled the pit.
I scanned around but saw nothing, the pit was as dark as ever with cobwebs everywhere. Looking up again, I knew that it's impossible for me to get out, I must find another way out of this pit and not die in here.
"Where am I? What the hell is going on!' I screamed with hot tears welling up in my eyes. The pain from the open cut on my forehead was so unbearable accompanied with the pains all over my body.
"I must find a way out of here, I can't die like this, no way" saying this, I begin to limp towards a path. The more I walked, the more I realized that indeed, I fell into a cave. To my surprise, a faint light began to appear as I walked further, giving me enough light to find my way through.
The thought of the wolf who chased me filled my mind, there was no sign of it after I got into this mess and I wonder if it just vanished after being so adamant to have me killed.
"I am alive, that's what matters, now, I have to find my way out of here" I muttered scanning around but the more I walked, the more the light became brighter.
Soon, I walked into a very bright room with no way out. The wall was painted white and to my greatest Surprise, I could see my reflection so clear that I wondered where on Earth this place might be.
"Melissa" a soft voice called out to me.
Slowly, i turned around to the direction the voice came from, standing next to me was a very tall woman with long white hair. Her face glitter just like the moon, but the look on her face showed nothing but great worry.
"Melissa" I heard her call out again.
Speechless, I couldn't utter any word but stared hopelessly, her white gown flowed in great majesty revealing nothing but authority.
"Who are you?" I finally found the courage to ask, my gaze not letting go of her.
"You don't have to know" the strange lady replied, her voice was so soft that it sounded like lovely music to me In a way that gladdened my heart.
"Where am I?" I inquired.
"You don't have to know this either," she responded.
Confused by all of these, I turned around but saw no one.
"Are you expecting anyone?" She asked.
I didn't reply but faced her, my eyes watching her deeply.
"What is going on? How did I get here? I don't understand what's happening" I said at once.
"You don't have to understand at all Melissa. You just have to act"
"Act?" I implored with a raised brow.
"Yes, you have to act on it"
"But how? Act on what?..." I paused very confused than I have ever been in my life, "Your words confuse me really deeply, please, tell me and I am smart enough to grab it all at one goal" I said very frustrated, to my surprise, I could feel the pain from my cur slowly fade away, a great feeling filled me whole.
"There is nothing for you to understand Melissa. When the right time comes ,you will understand it perfectly, more than you can ever imagine. When the right time comes, I will come to you, you have to keep this registered deeply in your heart" the woman said, her eyes so glued to me.
"But I don't know you"
"You don't have to know me Melissa, you don't have to"
"But…but…" immediately, the light which surrounded us began to fade away, I gazed at my hands only to find them glowing dimly.
I gazed up at the woman before me but she was nowhere to be seen, she vanished, right before I could utter a word.
"Where are you?" I screamed looking around the empty room as the light began to fade, "Please come back! You just can't leave me here! I don't know where I am! I am lost, completely lost and I need your help so badly, please, don't leave!" I begged but it was no use, she didn't appear nor did the light.
At once, this darkness overshadowed me and before I could utter a word, I felt a strong hand slowly gripped my left foot and dragged me down the cold ground.
"No!" I cried out in terror.
With the screams pouring out of my mouth, my eyes flung open and to my shock, I found myself lying on the bed, the ray of the sunlight shone brightly into the room.
I quickly scanned around and the realization dawned on me, thick sweat trickled down my face.
"It's a dream, it's just a dream" I panted heavily with my hand placed on my chest.
I didn't have much time to think, it was already sunrise and Nelson was absent during the night again. I know that he has been spending a lot of time with Viviana but that was the least of my worries, all that filled my head was the face of that strange woman and the whole ordeal I just faced, an ordeal which looked so real.
"I must find who this lady is, yes, I must" I muttered, my heart racing slowly returning to normal.
