Personal Activity

"Melissa, meet Conri," Anabelle introduced.

I looked up only to find a tall handsome man in a black cloak walking closer to where we sat. His long black hair swung to the touch of the wind, a smile plastered on his face and from where I sat, I could see his pure white amazing set of teeth which sparkled. No doubt, this guy is breathtakingly handsome but I wonder how a man like him wants to help a girl like me.

"Good to see you Ma'am Melissa, it's a pleasure to finally meet you" Conri spoke out standing close to where I stood, his eyes filled with sparkled as he spoke and I couldn't help but feel very confused about the whole thing.

"You have to relax Melissa, Conri is a very good friend of mine and a loyal werewolf to the royal family. He will teach you everything you need to know about becoming the Luna of this pack immediately. My brother is made Alpha…" Anabelle turned to Conri who smiled at her, "It's good to have you back Conri, it's been a while since you have been inside the pack" she stated with the cutest smile she can give to him.

"It's a pleasure Anabelle, I have been so busy that I got occupied but right now, I am willinging to be at your service…" he paused averting his eyes on me, "And of course, help the next Luna in knowing everything she has to know for the benefit of the pack" Conri affirmed.

I couldn't help but stare in wonder, why will Anabelle place a man in the first place to teach me. At first, I had the thought that it would definitely be a woman but seeing a dazzling man standing in front of me, I felt very uneasy about it and I didn't fail to show my expression.

"You don't seem happy Ma'am Melissa," Conri said, bringing back my attention. I quickly gazed at him and flashed him the most friendly smile I could.

"I am fine, just surprised that you are willing to teach me.." I paused, glanced at Anabelle who watched me and returned my stare back to Conri, "No offense, I don't mean to sound rude but don't you have important things to do aside from this? I mean is it mandatory that you teach me without it hindering some of your personal activity?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, my eyes softened in order not to sound too bossy.

Conri Chuckled, "You don't have to worry about that. I won't be spending the whole day here at the royal home, nothing more than just some few hours and I am off, you got nothing to worry about, I assure you"

I felt speechless, with the fake smile on my face, I nodded indicating that I have no more words to contribute to the whole ordeal.

"Lessons will kick off tomorrow, you can leave now Conri, Melissa knows you now so every formality has been taken care of already" Anabelle spoke up and took a sip of her tea.

"With all pleasure, Princess" he replied and with a bow, he walked out heading out of the royal home.

"What was that for Anabelle?" I quickly fired as soon as Conri was out of sight.

A frown rested on Anabelle's face, she raised a brow with shrugged shoulders. "What do you mean Melissa?"

"A man?" I pointed out with widened eyes.

"What's wrong about that?"

"Everything!"

"How?" Anabelle asked

"Come on" I sigh, "Fine, I am grateful that you do want to help me fix things and get things moving smoothly before the whole Luna thing comes to pass but to be honest. Why on Earth do you think that it's the best idea for a man, a young man, to be my teacher when I am married to your brother?..." I shook my head, "Won't that get Nelson pissed? Fine, I know that your brother hates me and want absolutely nothing to do with me but, don't you think that I might be breaking one of the goddamn rules if such should occur, I don't want any of this Melissa, I have had enough problems already"

For a moment, Anabelle didn't respond but stared at me.

"You worry too much Melissa" she let out.

"Why do you say so?"

Anabelle took a sip from her tea, I didn't touch mine after the appearance of Conri, I lost the appetite already.

"You worry too much, this is just the truth! My brother is way busy searching for ways to put the werewolves back in shape, he won't care about whatever gender decides to teach you. If this is about my brother and you getting into trouble, you have to get that assumption off your mind and learn, everything is going to be fine just the way you want it" she assured me with a calm look on her face.

Although the whole thing looked super weird to me, I didn't see it as a bad idea. Of course, I have lots to learn. Who would have ever thought that a mere human like me will end up getting married to a soon to be Alpha, a position that will make me nothing else but Luna, more like a queen in the human world. This whole new life just keeps on unfolding so many new series to me and I hope I will be able to sail across through it all without drowning.

"Are you alright Melissa"

Snapping out of my thoughts, I managed to smile and nodded at Anabelle, "Yes I am. Thank you so much…" I paused as a thought flashed through my mind.

"Why are you helping me Anabelle?" I suddenly asked, my question took her aback, a look of surprise on her face.

"First, you came to apologize over your father's treatment to me, now, you invited me for tea time and brought in someone to teach me whereas, I am sure that the rest of the royal family hates me, including your brother who is my husband…" I paused searching for the next words to say, my eyes locked into her, "I am not used to people being so nice to me, that's why I will like to know why you are doing this" I poured out my heart not hiding a word at her.

Anabelle took a deep breath, she glanced at her tea cup and focused her gaze at me, "I just like you, nothing else, maybe I got my good heart from my mother, if she is present at the moment, she won't even let my brother treat you the way he does. Just see it as my act of being nice, nothing else"

A maid walked towards where we sat, took a bow and focused her attention on Anabelle.

"The Alpha requests for your present now" she announced.

A look of disappointment appeared on Anabelle's face but it quickly vanished as it came.

"Alright, I will be there, '' she said to the maid who bowed and walked away.

"You can stay here as you like, feel free, this is also your home so get used to it. My father needs me and I have to leave now" Standing up, Anabelle smiled and walked away followed by two maids.

As confused as I am, I glanced at the liquid buried in my cup, the urge to pick it up and drink its content was so far away from me. All that filled my head were the words of Anabelle and instantly, I could feel excitement all around me.

Maybe it won't be a bad idea to learn this and see myself as part of the pack. I am an alien and I don't want that to be forever. For this to change, I have to learn as fast as possible.

I got on my feet and headed back to my room, my head filled with so many thoughts. Anabelle is right, Nelson won't give a shit about it, why was I a little off the bait in the first place. Nelson doesn't care and neither will he, I just have to live my life knowing fully well that the man I was made to marry will never love me back.

"You can leave now" I turned to Patricia as I stood next to the door.

"Are you sure that you don't need anything ma'am?" She implored politely.

"No, I am fine for now. If I do need anything, I will call for you, this is certain" I assured with a smile.

"Alright" she nodded and with a slight bow, walked away leaving me as I watched her.

I got into the room, undressed into a more comfortable gown and let my hair lay loose as it flowed elegantly. No doubt, I have very beautiful hair, long, thick and black. Filled with nothing but pure elegance and the envy of my step sister Sophia and her mother. I guess this is the only beauty I can surpass because at that moment, I felt like shit, like an imposter and like a lamb laid to the slaughter.

Soon, evening came and it was time for dinner.

Nelson came into the room still not saying a word to me or taking a second look at me. He got dressed into nicer clothes and together, we walked out of the room and towards the dining room.

Dinner was as quiet as possible, I tried my best not to say a word or annoy anyone. I could feel some stare at me and to be honest, I was already getting used to their stare. The Alpha was absent, so was his seat and Nelson who sat next to me said nothing but stared at his plate eating as slowly as he could.

We got back into our room, Nelson got out leaving me behind. After my bath, I laid on the bed with a book in my hand, my eyes reading through words as the candle light gave me enough utterance to see through.

Although everything written in the book sounded strange to me, that didn't stop the eager fire burning so deep inside of me. I need to learn this, yes! I do. Right now and as quickly as I can. The image of Conri flashed through my mind. I couldn't wait for sunrise so that I could kick off my learning. It would be good to have something to do just to get myself out of this boring life that is trying so hard to choke me.

Morning came faster than I expected. I got out of bed filled with smiles, Patricia came in, made my bath and after that, I got dressed and ready for the day's activities.

Nelson got out of the room without saying a word to me as usual, we live more as roommates than married couples and that didn't seem to border me at all, we never loved each other anyway, so it's a bonus relief to me.

After breakfast, I walked straight to the royal garden along with Patricia. Getting there, to my surprise, stood Conri waiting patiently for me. He had a black cloak on, his hair neatly brushed and a slight of his lovely smile plastered on his face. I couldn't help but wonder what he might look like with a frown on his face, quite charming I must confess, maybe having a friend like him will help distract me a lot.

"Good to see you Ma'am Melissa '' he bowed, his eyes filled with so much eustatism.

"Just call me Melissa, Ma'am makes me feel old" I pointed out with a friendly smile, my eyes not leaving him.

He broke into a soft chuckle, "Just Melissa?"

"Yes" I affirmed, "Is anything wrong with you calling me by my name?" I asked, watching him closely.

"It seems quite surprising, I don't think any of the royal werewolf family will want a common werewolf to address them by their name alone" Conri pointed out.

"First of all, I am a human, not a werewolf and secondly, I will appreciate it better if you address me by my name alone. You are my teacher now so let's keep the formality away, I hope you don't mind"

Conri smiled, "Anything you wish, I am here to serve you in the best possible way that I can" he chipped in a very friendly tone.

"Good to hear this! Now, let's begin" I uttered and together with Conri, we both began to walk back towards the royal building, the morning breeze blowing softly on us.
