Bullet

"Fuck this driver!" Cameron has had enough of the road play. He brought out his gun, removed bullets from it until it remained two. The two bullets was fire - thrown, one penetrated into two tyres at once while the other hit the windscreen and that was when he saw the driver - Prastina.

Cameron lost focus for almost a minute. He has totally forgotten Prastina was also a police detective, he didn't even think she would be part of the squad after them and how the hell did she learn to drive like that? "Can you, please, focus?!" Taylor yelled, removing his mask angrily.

They already lost the detectives car, it broke down since it already lost three tyres to avoid it catching fire. Cameron snapped back to himself and drove straight to the mansion. Jorgenson was revived but he might pass out again if he isn't treated quickly.

"We will need a very skilled doctor. The bullet has gone deep into his arm and has expanded around his shoulder joint." One of the medics Jorgenson employed said as they tried to stop the blood by injecting two types of injections at once.

Taylor ruffled his hair, why did this have to happen? "We can't just bring any doctor in here. Security matters most." He argued, "If you have a better suggestion, then say it and stop shouting." Cameron rolled his eyes, walking towards a corner.

What is to be done now? Jorgenson can't die and to achieve that, the bullet needs to be removed first. His brain clicked in remembrance, "Prastina...." He remembered how she skillfully discovered his mother's killer is a half human and not a full monster, what the police detectives couldn't find out.

"I have one person ---" Cameron finally said, "--- but we have to tell her the truth because she's a police detective." He ended. "What do you mean we have to tell a police detective the truth? What if she rats us out?" Taylor yelled.

Cameron expected that outburst from them, especially from Taylor. "Do we have a choice?!" He shouted back. "But isn't anything better than revealing ourselves to a police detective? We might end up in jail if Jorgenson is treated. Can't we find someone else?" Taylor was clearly frustrated.

"If it was a normal bullet, Jorgenson would be fine right from the start because he would taken the bullet out by himself but a dumdum bullet, we'll need an expert for that." Cameron explained, "-- except if you want to fly him out of the country, in between Richard Mics men that are everywhere and the police detectives that are investigating about the whole situation." He explained further.

Cameron walked to the door, "Let me know your decision in two minutes." Before he walked out of the room, Taylor stopped him. "If you know this person very well, you can invite them. We aren't trusting that detective, we are trusting you." Cameron knew how difficult those words were for him.

He nodded and exited the room. "Hey!" He cooed on the phone, making his ears at alert to listen to the background noises. "Cameron, you were needed in the office today." Prastina said, breathing heavily. "Why? My two weeks suspension hasn't ended yet right?" Cameron wasn't surprised. They would definitely need his help because of the uproar today.

"Well, Sheriff says he needs you. He has been calling your number but isn't reachable. Are you intentionally avoiding him?" Cameron remembered adding Sheriff's number to blacklist just because days like this. It was better that way, a lot better.

Cameron paused, "I need your help, Prastina." He obviously found it hard to ask but he had no choice at the moment. "As long as it is within my reach, I will help you." Prastina replied and that made him sigh in relief.

"I will come and pick you where you are but make sure you are not in any way close to the police department office." Cameron warned. She wanted to ask questions but she kept quiet. In another ten minutes, Cameron was already standing at the front of her car.

Prastina still felt a little bit intimidated, "Do you ever stop appearing that way?" She huffed, rolling her eyes. "Sorry babe." He smiled, rubbing her hair. She felt her heart beating right in her chest, did he just call her 'babe'? That's heartwarming and somehow weird, coming from him.

"What do you need my help with?" She cut the silence off, "I need you to operate on someone." Cameron said and she glanced at him. "Nobody so important but he needs my help and that is why I need your help to save him." He quickly added.

Prastina stared at him, why does it seem like he is nervous to ask her for her help? "Um --" She wanted to talk, "You can name your price, don't worry about it." Cameron cut her off quickly. "Since it's you I'm helping, I don't need the money." She replied, eyeing him suspiciously.

"So, where is the place?" She ignited the engine, ready to move. "We don't need your car." Cameron removed the car keys. If Prastina takes her car, the police department might trace and all his efforts would be in vain. Everything that could lead them to Jorgenson should be discarded.

Prastina was confused, "How are we supposed to get there!" She hit her hands on the steering. "No worries. I will take you there." Cameron stepped out of the car and assisted her to come out too. In the next second, Prastina was on his back while he activated his speed ability.

"Woah!!!" Prastina screamed, her voice echoed in the whole street. "Slow down dude!" She held his neck, afraid of falling. So, vampires also possess the speed ability. Was this an advantage of having a vampire as a boyfriend? Wait, he hasn't asked her out yet.

In less than ten minutes, they got to Jorgenson's house. Prastina recognized the place, wasn't this where he was shot and fell unconscious? Where she had to carry him into her car. This place was the reason there were sixty two bullets in his body, why is he back here? What business does he have with this place?

"I promise, I will explain everything to you later." Cameron could read her thoughts very clearly and he could hear it loudly. "Why not now?" Prastina asked as they walked through the opened gates of the big mansion.

Prastina was dumbstruck, the mansion was screaming luxury. "It's only criminals that builds these types of mansion." She muttered without knowing Cameron heard everything. Finally, Prastina was standing in front of the bedridden Jorgenson.

"What happened to him?" Her doctor's instincts kicked in immediately, the only thing on her mind was to save this man. "Apparently, he got shot with a dumdum bullet ---" Cameron was still saying when Prastina already had her gloves on and her lab coat was ready to.

She began work immediately with the available equipment, "The bullet has to be removed within two minutes. The bullet will expand in diameter until it reaches his heart and then, he's going to die." Prastina explained. "Everyone out, now!"

Cameron watched in awe, she isn't the police detective he has always known, she is now a skillful doctor. "Don't just stand there, I need scissors!" She shouted at Taylor whose whole mind and eyes was focused on the beautiful lady in front of him.

"Cameron, set the timer to two minutes." She instructed and he scoffed, thinking about how Taylor looked at her earlier. "There is no beeping monitor to indicate if something is wrong with him. I need you both cooperation please, no distractions at all. Agreed?" Prastina looked at the both of them.

Do they have a feud? Prastina wondered but that was none of her business. "Now, scissors." She stretched her hand, Taylor gave it to her. She cut the arm open horizontally, dipped her hand inside , rolling it horizontally and vertically gently. "Ah!" Prastina dipped a drilling scalpel into the area while gently removing her earlier dipped hand.

"Shit!" She exclaimed, hitting the scalpel on the wrong area. No, it captured a bullet. She took it out and dropped it on the tray Taylor was holding; the bullet has expanded too much. "You should stitch it up...." Taylor suggested, "There is one more expanded bullet." Prastina answered him.

Jorgenson was motionless but wide awake, "Fifty three seconds left." Cameron glanced at the timer, "The bullet is moving." She gasped, removing the scalpel. They looked at her confusingly, "What do you mean?" It was simultaneously asked.

"It means this particular bullet has expanded beyond his shoulder joint and if not taken out quickly, it'll expand into his neck." Prastina explained as fast as he could. "Can't it be taken out the way you took this one out?" Taylor was scared - his boss shouldn't die this way.

Prastina looked at Cameron, "No no no...." He refused the moment he understood what she was saying. He should use his vampire abilities to check where the bullet originally is and then, she holds it both sides down, dip the scalpel there and pull it out. "You have to do it or -- he will die."
