Chapter 2 : Leonard
The address that Leonard went to via his own cell phone ended up in a row of large office buildings in the middle of Jakarta. Fiona put her foot down as the taxi pulled up to the gate. Still wearing her nightly clothes, she walked up to the officer at the gate and asked if she could meet Leonard.
"Mr. Leonard? I'm sorry, have you had any scheduled meetings with him before?"
"Um... I..."I am the girl who was driven home and made out with Leonard, sir, "Um, I'm his younger brother, sir! I want to give him his cell phone."
The officer turned confused, "It seems that Mr. Leonard doesn't have a younger sibling, miss, he's the only child of Mr. Santoso who owns this company."
Dumb!
"Sorry, what’s your name again?"
"Fiona, sir," Fiona answered somewhat stammered, turning to stare at the large building in front of her. The glass-encased building scorched the sun, its splendor soaring almost to the sky. The parking lot in front of it is filled with several shiny sedans that look expensive. The security guard interrupted her reverie.
"Miss, please come in, just tell the receptionist later that you are Mr. Leonard's guest."
Fiona shook her head slowly. "It’s okay. I'll just wait here—"
"Eh, don't do that. I'll be scolded later if I don't bring the guests in. Come on, I'll get you there." Inwardly Fiona groaned lazily. Not only was she too lazy to meet, she wasn't sure if the man had other intentions. All Fiona could remember last night was the soft swish of caresses lingering in every inch of her body. The sensation that sometimes feels embarrassing, when drunk it feels good. But when Fiona is fully aware, she's even a little disgusted remembering last night's incident.
The officer enters the lounge, spacious with large pillars covered with shiny marble and minimalist. Fiona followed the attendant into the elevator lobby, following like a tiny duck followed her mom. Among the office crowd, in a white tank top and oversized flannel shirt, Fiona's clothes looked ten years younger. She cleared her throat slightly, a little awkwardly feeling people starting to stare at her.
The elevator dinged, and the door opened. Fiona caught up with the officer pressing the 12th floor and then waited to go up. After arriving at the 12th floor, it was found that this floor was very different from the lounge below earlier. There is only a long narrow corridor and several forks leading to closed rooms. There is a mirrored room where she can see its contents like a space meeting because there is a long table. But the officer had pointed to another closed room down the narrow passage. The silence and Fiona's footsteps which were muffled by the carpet added to the luxurious impression.
"Mr. Leonard is in here, miss." The officer immediately left leaving a stunned Fiona at the door.
Was that guy a pervert? When it comes to Fiona in nothing in this private room, it felt so stupid. Okay, yesterday maybe she was stupider, but she didn't want to do it with a fully conscious brain. She's only stupid when she's drunk and grateful because her virginity is still there. Why is she thinking about that now, anyway? Fiona shook her head, then switched to calling the number from Leonard's cellphone. Thinking, maybe she should call again before confirming the guy.
"Leonard?"
"Yes?" said the guy on the other side.
Subconsciously, Fiona swallowed hard. "I'm already outside your room."
"Oh? Just come in," he said casually.
"How about if I put this phone in front of the door so you can get it yourself? I still have a business—"
Suddenly the door in front of Fiona opened, she gasped a little and found a tall, slender guy in a white shirt rolled up to his elbows staring at her while taking off his cell phone. Fiona was stunned for a moment, the guy smiled faintly as he put his cell phone in his trouser pocket, one hand holding the door.
"Hey," he said slowly. His eyes shone straight, and that small smile appeared sweet on his lips, Fiona felt last night's memories suddenly replay in her head. The guy's touch when he took off her tank top, the warm sting of his lips around Fiona's neck, sniffing softly, whispering as if last night's events were something they both enjoyed. Unknowingly Fiona held her breath, she knocked herself on the head. Wake up!
"Hey, are you okay?" Leonard asked, confused.
"Uhm—no. Here—" Fiona said suddenly stammering. She was confused and asked herself why she was so nervous. The point is, she just wanted to leave this place immediately. But it seems the guy didn't allow it because suddenly he grabbed Fiona's tiny waist, entered the room, and closed the door. Bringing Fiona's body in a jolt behind the door. She was surprised, looking at Leonard who was now locked into her eyes.
"Are you really innocent or just pretending anyway?"
Fiona's brows furrowed, the bitterness of fear running through her mind. The pungent smell of body odor wafted back. Her memory vaguely returned to the scene, unfortunately, Leonard's face last night was not as clear as today. The lines of a firm face combined with eagle eyes and red lips, smiling crookedly at her.
"What are you talking ab—" Fiona's hand was held against the wall, she gasped, her body couldn't move because Leonard supported both of his hands between Fiona's body.
"Have you ever thought that if last night the person who accompanied you was a rude guy who just wanted to use you as he pleased?"
The thought contorted in horror, of course she didn't want to. She was drunk and Fiona is not aware. Neither did anyone expect to take her home.
"I'm drunk, no one knows either—"
"You clearly asked me to take you home," said Leonard as if he was laughing at an incident that Fiona didn't remember at all. This was why she avoided repeating last night's events. Apart from not remembering, she was sure that she must have done many embarrassing things. Tasya once said that Fiona's drunkenness was very dangerous. She could have been dancing naked in the street because all her thoughts were completely out of consciousness.
Fiona chuckled lazily, trying to escape, "Let go of me—"
That movement actually strengthened Leonard's grip, he narrowed the distance, staring at Fiona even more as if it was a lunch he was waiting for. Fiona looked away, not wanting to look at the guy.
"You remember yesterday's promise, right?"
Fiona complained inwardly. Whatever she said when she was drunk was stupid. If this guy in a shirt who looks smart believes it, she'll really screw it up in an instant.
"Listen," Fiona said impatiently, "I just came back to return your lost phone and with all the senses I have now, whatever we did last night I was just drunk. Okay?"
Leonard tilted his head, unsure. "Really?"
Fiona snickered again, this time louder so that Leonard would at least realize that what he was doing had absolutely nothing to do with last night's incident.
"Then, let's do it again with full awareness, shall we?"
