Chapter 3
“My name is Haven and as you pointed out I am a Hunter that I did not find out until the stuff started happening with Kenzie. But like the others I grew up with Kenzie I was there to see what happened to her with that so-called family you put her with. The only thing I think she got out of that is how to be stronger than she realized she was. They never changed her in a way that you think it would she was never hateful. The one thing they did not change was her heart, she was still the loving and caring person that all of us know. She is a part of my family my mother, the father looks at her as another daughter. They call her just to check up on her to make sure she is doing okay. To me, she is my sister and always will be. Even though I just found out that I have a half-sister Kenzie was always there for me and I will always be there for her. So, my loyalties are with Kenzie, and I to would follow her anywhere."
Haven looked at Kat and nods her head and walks off.
“I know when you look at me, you see a Hunter and you would be correct. Yes, I have hunted many of your kind following what my father has always told me to do. Something has always felt wrong in my heart I never knew why. I found out that my father had been lying to me and that I had a half-sister. So, I went to find her and learned what the true meaning of friendship and family was all about. Kenzie took me in with no questions asked just because I was Haven half-sister. She did not look down on me she did not question me in any way. I could see the truth in her eyes that I was welcome. She told me if I hurt haven in any way or anyone else that she cared about she would some way make me pay for that, that she would be glad to be my friend if I was willing to put their needs above my own. She explained that is what a true friend and loved one does without question. So, because she was able to do that for me I was able to give my loyalties to her and into my half-sister, which then I gained a mother that I never knew. So, you see Kenzie has helped in so many ways that she has earned so many loyalties from far and wide."
Kat turned around and goes sits down away from the Council.
“My name is Sammy and since you did not include me into this group. I will inform you that yes, I’m a witch. I as well grew up with Kenzie and was there for a lot of that as well. You have already heard about the crazy family she had but the one thing you did not know, and everyone here is reluctantly to tell you. She was almost raped and beaten when she was young. My mother who is also a witch had to do some spells to help heal some of her wounds. Kenzie would not let her heal a couple of the scars she keeps has a reminder of what she went through and how she survived. The only reason she did not get raped was Kenzie fought him. When he could not get what he really wanted he decided to beat her instead. So, then my mother did a protection spell on Kenzie, so no more harm could come to her if she lived with them. We never thought she would need the protection spell, but he tried and until she moved out. Kenzie has been with me for so long that I cannot see myself not being in her life or her in mind. So yes, my loyalties are with Kenzie and my group of friends here."
Sami looks at the Council while one tear falls down her cheek she turns and walks out of the room.
“Why do we get to the real issue instead of us sitting here telling each other where loyalties are a lie. My name is Sam I am Adams oldest brother I came here to help my brother when he found out his true mate was in trouble. But once I got know Kenzie I have seen so many reasons why she has loyalties from everyone she meets. And thanks to Kenzie I have found my true mate, so my loyalties will live with Kenzie, my mate, and their friends."
Sam walks over to Conner. Puts his arm around her to hold her close for comfort.
“My names Jake and I am the youngest of Adams brothers. Thanks to Kenzie and Conner I was able to find my mate and bring her back safely. Kenzie put her life on the line in a chance to be captured by the hunters once again to help save my mate. So that alone earned my loyalties that she had from the moment I met her. Just because she made my brother happy and brought new meaning into his life that she also brought me and everybody's life here in this group." Jake walks over to Kate and pushes her forward so Kate can tell her story.
“Good evening Council, my name is Kate and yes I am empathy. I do not know Kenzie as well as the others. But, she helped me anyway. We were both kidnapped by the hunters. She helped keep me calm and to think clearly so we would both survive. She did not turn her back on me as some have because of what I am she except me wholeheartedly. So, for that, she has my loyalties."
She bows her head and walks back to Jake.
“I do not see the point in doing all this, but my name is Trent I am the second to last brother of Adams. My true mate is Sammy in she is one of many of Kenzie's friends. So, as you can see all our lives have been touched by Kenzie in some way or form. So, there is no need to question our loyalties because they will always be with our friends and mostly be with Kenzie. I do think we have the right to question your loyalties since you left her with a family that could have done her true harm."
Trent moved out of the way and went back down by a window, so he could wait for Sami to return.
“You heard from everybody in the group. I do not mean to go any further all care why you guys here. Right now, what I do care about is Kenzie. She is still missing, and the hunters have her and I am sitting here arguing with people who have not been in her life for years. But I do not know about all of you right now I need to figure out where she is and get her back. I need to know she is safe and well. I don’t need you so-called family to get in the way." Adam is yelling.
