Chapter 86 86

Chapter 86 86
I had never been so ashamed of myself as I am now. Waking up with the memories of what happened between us last night, how I moaned relentlessly under him as though he was already my husband…and now it dawned on me that I just got claimed by my rival once again.

He had left by the time I woke up, and while I was getting done with my daily routine, I kept pondering how I would take care of this so it doesn't get back to me.

I reached out to Ofelia, who was preparing a human meal for herself, and I explained to her the dilemma I was in.

“Are you for real? You asked that weird question for yourself?” She shook her head, pouting. “And here I am, cooking with the ingredients Orrifin got for me in the human land as though I wouldn't set foot there again. I am so worried about my stay here right now, and I would say that it's because of how this man has been acting towards me recently,” she uttered, while dumping the vegetables she sliced into the pot.

Once she shut the pot, she said to me again, “What about you escaping? Won't your powers be of help?”

I sighed, “How do I know? He's something else.”

“Come to think of it, what can you do with your powers?” she asked, and I was amused by her question.

I added more flame to the fire before her eyes, opened the pot and stirred the meal.

“If it's done, then I could take it in for you,” I said, and she nodded, smiling widely. I did so, and she kept jumping around. “And many more that you don't need to see.”

She covered her mouth with her palms, "That's so impressive!”

“But I'm dead serious about what I told you. My powers are nowhere near affecting Dragon sovereign, and I must leave instead of getting married to him.” I brought back the main discussion.

Her shoulders dropped, and she walked towards me. “The only option is that you leave his realm since you aren't weak any longer. As you said, Perrin will protect your brother and me, so just go. There's no way you should marry someone who wants you dead.”

I thought as much. How do I tell someone I married my rival? Someone who could be the reason I wouldn't wake up one day?

Having gotten such an idea from Ofelia, I began planning my escape secretly. I found out the easiest route that would lead me out of his realm, so I waited for the appointed day to leave.

When I told River, he insisted that I not return if I happen to succeed…and although I felt guilty to leave him behind, who was still gradually regaining his powers, I seriously didn't need to wait back.

On the day I planned to escape, I was done with my normal routine in his chamber when I changed up to something light. I teleported out of his quarters, following the route I had found out myself. I was scared of being found, even though I was moved by the wind, and at the same time, loved how my powers were improving daily.

I reached the border, the place I knew could make me use my powers if eventually the Generals at the border found out about me passing even without seeing me. But taking care of the generals would have been better.

The moment I tried crossing the border, I felt something hot around my body, and I lost all my senses at that time. I wailed, moving my limbs until I dropped to the floor with a thud.

My arm sprained, and my forehead began throbbing.

I still felt like I was being roasted in a flame, only to look down at the burning chain tied all over me. I tried as much as I could to command my powers, but couldn't. I lost control over myself, and even felt I didn't have a soul at that point.

The clearing of the throat from behind made me turn around, and it was Sovereign, watching me from the tree branch he was sitting on higher. “You keep doing things I don't like.”

My breath caught in my throat as I tried to cry out amid the pain that pierced through my bones.

“That chain is one no dragon can create, and could drain your whole blood,” he said again and jumped down to the floor. “How long should I leave it on you?”

He wants me to beg? How did he even know that I was leaving?

“You became more stubborn, and I don't like it. You moan to my touch, while deep down you detest me. Isn't that wonderful?” he scoffed and wiped his lips. “So tell me, fae female. What should I do with you at this time?”

My fingers curled into my palms. My whole body was quivering at the loss of strength I felt.

“Whatever you want, because I will never beg you,” I said to him coldly, and he snorted. “You could do to me all you want, and that wouldn't make me marry you.”

He laughed out loud and clapped his hands. I could sense how happy he was that I was at his pity, whereas he would always be all over me as though I were his favourite.

“If you say so, then I should imprison you first,” he said and shrugged, then began leaving.

Seated on the floor covered in dry leaves, I was in panic about what he would do to me next. I didn't want to beg him, but the chain was burning my skin, and my blood was seeping through the fabric I wore.

Tears welled in my eyes, and when I couldn't hold them, they rolled down my cheeks.

The chain was killing me seriously, and I seemed to be losing not just blood but strength.

He had already vanished from my view when I was pulled from the floor by a heavy wind, my eyes shut tight as I moved with great speed. As everything went still, I found myself sitting in a cell with nothing but darkness.

The only way I could see was my extraordinary sense of sight, which I didn't know how long it would last.

I took a look at my body, which was already covered in my blood, my teeth quivering to the immense pain seeping through my spine.

‘Oh goddess mother, I might not survive this.’ I cried in my mind, biting my lower lip until I tasted my blood. ‘I need to free myself without begging for his help. I don't need him always feeling like he's the mightiest, and I am nothing.’

I felt my tears, hot, covering my face.

An hour passed by, even though I couldn't predict correctly…and the cell was opened.

I expected to see him watching me from there, only to see a Dreadwing General who kept smiling dirtily and staring at me. The sight of him made my belly churn in anger. I wished to strike him and have him get a taste of what his ruler was doing to me.

He walked into the cell finally and shut it again, then folded his arms against his chest. “I didn't know you could be captured this way after the last incident. So you seriously aren't strong like we thought?” he mocked, because the tone of his voice said it all. “What about you save yourself? If I help you do it, then I'm going to thrust you with my member until you cry out my name. Remember how you're now inferior to the Sovereign, so doing with you what we want will warrant no punishment on us.”

Hearing those words from him made a lump form in my throat. Anger in me was stirred so much that I thought my chest would burst.

“What do you say, fae female? Do I save you and get a taste of your honeypot? Trust me to make you climax several times that you would come asking for it any time,” he said, squatting and looking me straight in the eyes.

My breath was hanging. I wanted to get to him already, but I couldn't feel my soul any longer.

“Say something already. You're wasting my time,” he snarled, glaring back at me. “If you don't, then I'm going to do what I want.”

I didn't want to believe that he would take such a risk after watching what I did to his colleagues. But he really did. He got closer and began blowing out a storm to the chain around me.

Feeling his finger on my skin, something stirred in me, and I struggled violently. I shoved my limbs and the chain shattered, causing the man to slump to the ground on his ass.

He watched me with his lips hung open, and his chest rising and falling so fast that I could see it. He kept shaking his head, but no single word left his lips.

I was filled with so much energy that just the consistent glaring at him caused him to choke up. He gripped his throat, his palms fighting to get back his breath.

A smirk pulled my lips apart as I raised my palm to the air slowly. Upon turning it upside down, about ten knives stabbed into his body at once, and he choked up once, spilling blood and taking his last breath.

I also got choked, my palms on my throat. I felt something liquid seeping out from the side of my lips, but dizziness already clouded my mind, and my limbs loosened instantly.

I dropped to my side on the floor, losing my breath gently…until I drifted into darkness.
