Chapter 69 69

Chapter 69 69
Once again, they were all insisting I would be executed for murder, and after the detailed explanation by the High flame lord, I was able to recall the man whom they claimed I murdered; the same assassin who came after me, but there was no way I would prove my innocence without telling about my powers…so I shut my lips.

They kept ranting, pointing fingers at me and calling me a wench who came into their realm with a mission from my realm.

“So many times, we had brought up this execution and your Sovereignity waved it out. This time, I don't think there's a reason for her to keep living. This fae and his people must not survive us,” one of the lords exclaimed, and the others agreed with him.

At a time, they all got to their knees, chorusing, “Sentence her to death, Dragon Sovereign!!”

They didn't even know about my powers that I hoped wouldn't awaken anymore, yet they didn't want me to live. If they knew I did that to that man all with my powers, what then would they do? I bet they would join hands together to see that I perish at once.

“Sentence her to death, Dragon Sovereign!!” Their voices came again, and I only lowered my head, not even scared of their petition for the first time. I felt it was because I had only defended myself, and I knew they would support the assassin who came to attack me, claiming that faes do not survive in their midst, so every one of them was triggered to try to kill me.

After so many minutes of them ranting to their ruler, he cleared his throat, and I didn't understand how it echoed that way, pulling their attention, and they all got to their feet.

I bet they expected him to grant their wishes, but as usual, he turned them down and didn't look remorseful.

“First, that man was an assassin sent after my slave, so if I have to dig out who was the mastermind, one of you or more must go down.” Dragon Sovereign started, his eyes roaming from one side of the hall to the other. “Second, I killed him with my stormfire to save my slave. So do I have to abdicate the throne? What gave him the guts to try that on my slave?”

The lords began murmuring. They did not expect him to say it this far, and, of course, one or more of them could be behind it, which would lead the person to face the Sovereign's wrath, for I was his property.

“Now what do you all say? Should I begin investigating who was behind that attack?” he asked, but they all lowered their faces.

But something was confusing.

I clearly recall stabbing that man with his sword, so how come he used his stormfire, too? Had he healed all the cuts from the swords and used his stormfire, so it wouldn't look like I did it?

That day, his dragon came through the roof and took me out. What happened after was something I didn't know.

So he knew about my powers? He knew that it could get me into trouble and hadn't even mentioned it? What was he up to? He doesn't look straightforward.

Taking me out and quenching my powers. Healing the sword cuts on the person's body and using his stormfire so it would look like he was behind the death. Wasn't all that outrageous? No one would easily make such a sacrifice.

But I decided not to bring it up with him, because it was in the past and I should focus on the present and future. I should talk about my brother, too, so I could see how he was doing.

“You all aren't saying anything. Then it means that this discussion won't be brought up again.” His voice drew me out of my daze, and before I could raise my face to look at him, I felt a strong palm on my wrist, and then I blinked to see us in his chamber.

I quickly took my palm away and shifted to the side.

“Shouldn't you be grateful that I just saved your ass? You recall doing that, right? And I took the blame for you,” he stated, holding his head high.

I coughed slightly, “But it was our deal to make sure I'm alive.”

“Deals can be broken…

“And that will make you a bad person. If I broke it, would you be good with it?” I retorted, furrowing my brows.

He shook his head, "That's because you have no right to.”

“You're so savage. Just ascend already!” I snapped and tried walking away through the door, only to slam my forehead on something as hard as ice. I groaned amid the pains and turned to him, “What did you do to me, you cruel being?”

He scoffed, “Nothing! I just closed the entrance with a barrier,” and then he turned around and began walking towards his wardrobe.

I was so enraged at that moment that if I had more power than he did, I would just take his life. What does he even think when hurting me?

When I walked closer to him, I said to his face, “Just so you know that I'm not interested in any soulmate bond. Let's sever the bond already.”

He glanced at me and sniffed, “You don't tell me what to do. As you're my mate, I won't end it unless I want to…and so not even you can.”

I gritted my teeth. All these because I was powerless?

He knew so much that I would have ended it if I had my powers. What man acts sweet today and becomes cold the next day? Was that how he would live with me if I were to be his queen?

“Anyways, I shouldn't even bother ending it and just let the whole realm know of it. Once I do and they pester you to reject me, you will have no choice but to do it…

“That's not a threat, though,” he said without even sparing me a glance. “Instead, you will endanger your life more.”

I felt so stupid at that moment, and even cursed inwardly, the day I met him.

“You should be grateful always to gain my pity,” he added, and I let out a loud hiss which made his face contort. “Do you even know that your life is in my hands?”

He says that all the time, and I hated it.

“You never gave me life, so you don't own it,” I growled at him and pointed at the door. “Get off that barrier so I can leave.”

He shook his head, “Why should I?”

“I have to see my brother.”

“Will that make you happy?” he asked, and I didn't want to believe that he asked that.

When did he start caring about my happiness?

“I asked you a question. Will seeing your brother make you happy again?”

I nodded, “If you let me see my brother, then I could stop being angry. Even though I'm no longer interested in the soulbond.”

He snorted, “I hate it when you say that….”

For goddess sake, why was he doing this? He pulled me closer by a snowy rope which he wrapped around me…and as I fell into his arms, he dissolved it.

I frowned at him, my chest so heavy that I just wanted to smack him hard.

“You're going to see your brother after now, stay as long as you want, provided you're coming back to me,” he said and licked his lips. “But that's going to happen if you give in to this so much, Vina.”

I didn't understand him until he rolled his index fingers from one side to the other, and my dress was slowly stripped off my body.

My lips dropped in shock at what he was doing, yet I did nothing until I was finally standing naked before him.

He pulled me closer, and I rested my body on him, so he looked me straight in the eyes and whispered, “Moan for me so much that I lose control, then I'm going to let you go.”

I took a deep gulp, gaze pinned on him.

Before I could even respond to him, he lowered his head and took my left nipple into his mouth, suckling so hungrily.
