A bet to risk
The atmosphere was still, deafening in the air as unknown figure walked farther to Bruce, everywhere was dark as if he was a shadow around the sea waves.
Bruce brown eye crinkling dangerously to his direction, still waiting on him. Leaning against the car door, he crossed his arm over his chest
“If you've come clean, I won't over step my boundaries, but save you from all the headache.”
Bruce did not say any word, darting his eyes at me which looks like shaper like a razor resulting to fear to wash down the stranger's spine or something else.
“How long will you keep doing this,” he finally spoke, his voice soft, lacing with a commanding tone.
The shadow didn't say a word right away, the tension between then becoming deep.
Bruce growled inside, feeling so uneasy, “Be careful. There are more that would come against you.” He said, low and insistent.
“How do you know about me?” He asked, turning around not to vent his anger on him.
The shadow moved closer to him slightly, his eyes narrowing leaving no trace.
“Because you're the reason everything in displace. Sonita is your only weapon to use against you.”
Bruce took a deep breath, breaking off the silence inside him. “How much truth does she know about me— information, fact. And why are you still pressing more.”
The shadows smiled. “Don't be too fast, Bruce.”
Bruce's voice low and calm this time. “Then what do you want?”
The shadow's smile faded with seriousness on his look. “An offer to the company, then everything will change.”
Bruce chuckled. “Everyone wants to taste a bit of power.” but he remained silent, his eyes glued to Bruce.
“It's your choice to make.”
“What choice?” He asked finally, so curious to hear him out.
“I will give you time to think. Next move will be on lost twin brother. Bruce,” he said, growled low as their eyes locked onto each other.
“You dare not.” He said,
“You will hear from me soon,” he added, pulled out an envelope from his pocket.
“It's not necessary.” He said, giving a distant from him.
“Do you think you can buy me off with money?” He snapped, this time his voice was audible.
“Alright. My bad, we will get in touch soon.” Bruce turned his back against. “But that depends on me, Bruce. It get in touch with you or not. I just need a little favor from you or your secret will blow away.”
Bruce's voice was sharp and mean. “Enough with the threat.”
The shadow man did not back down on his word under
Bruce's intensity. “Bruce it's all in your hand, break the rule and then face the sever awaiting for you. You won't like the outcome.”
“You are trying to manipulate me. I won't fall for this.” Bruce growled, his voice full of anger and frustration. His face stiffened, “and why would I believe all you have said?”
He turned to him, calm and still “ you don't have to believe me. The next is Joan, imagine loosing all you earned bloody for years from your father goes to him. You don't want to think about that.”
Bruce stepped closer, leaving no space between them. “How do you know all this about me? Who are you?”
“I have no word for now. But I am someone who had been watching your steps since day 1,” he said finally.
“And I'm ready to take my revenge on you, Bruce. You got alot of enemy around.”
Those words were heavy on Bruce, he took out a heavy sigh of his lips. “What does that mean? He pressed harder, frustration brewing up.
“If you know so much about me, why don't you bring me than doing this?”
He laughed out so loud, waving his head slowly. “Because the choice isn't mine to make. We have no choice in the game.”
“If you think, it's a game. Stay away from people around me. Let's face directly.” He paused, gazing at him.
“It's not up to you to tell me what to do.” He cut in sharply,
“Your burden is to get me into the company, you can't keep hiding for too long.”
Bruce sighed, his bones felt broken at this point.
“I will do whatever you want,” he said, his voice against his bravery act. “I will do it. No more riddles. No exposure. It's sealed.”
For a long moment, the shadows said nothing but to stare at him sternly.
Then he pulled out some documents from his suit, and brought out a small piece of paper covered with black leather.
“This is the direction of where we will meet for the agreement papers.” He said, handing it over to him
“Remember the time is ticking, and you must understand that it must be done.”
Bruce stared at the paper, millions of questions laced through his mind.
“What's this?” He asked still confused but the shadows man didn't respond. Instead he walked out slowly to the dark, “with time. You shall know.” He said.
“Remember, the time is ticking. You better choose your poison”
Bruce stared at him until the black SOV drove out into the darkness, leaving him with the waves of the shores.
“Sir, you need to think wisely.” Austin broke the silence, moving closer to him
Bruce still ignored all he said, his focus was on the small black enveloped paper
“I need answer to the unknown threat of the organization.” He finally said to him
“the organization is hidden. No information about that.” Austin replied.
Just then, his phone sends in notifications. He pulled out his phone to read the contents
“Any mistake. Alexia will get involved in the murder case.”
