Chapter 95
Chapter 95
"Are you even listening to me? I don't want to eat right now, I just want to see her."
She just wanted to see what kind of woman could make Leonard stay with her while still being involved with someone else.
She wanted to know if every person she dated would cheat on her, if she was just that unlucky.
Margaret never thought she was inferior to others, whether in looks or abilities. She believed she was excellent.
But with Leonard, she was repeatedly hurt, as if she was worthless in his eyes and could be discarded at will.
She didn't want to go through what happened with Howard again, so this time, she had to get to the bottom of it.
"Fine, I'll take you to see her now."
Leonard's words made Margaret slightly stunned. She didn't expect him to agree to let her meet his lover so easily.
"What did you say?"
Leonard's face remained calm, as if nothing could stir his emotions.
"Didn't you want to see her? She invited me to dinner, you can come along."
Margaret opened her mouth, her face full of shock.
Not knowing what to say, she could only dryly respond, "Okay, let's go then."
This was her first time meeting her husband's lover, and it was under such calm circumstances.
She looked at the rapidly retreating scenery outside the window, her mind in chaos.
She even wondered what attitude and appearance she should have when meeting the woman who intruded on her relationship.
No matter how she approached it, one thing remained constant: she couldn't show any weakness in front of that woman.
Even if Leonard ultimately chose that woman, she couldn't wallow in self-pity.
Margaret thought that when she met the woman, she would definitely ask when it all started, whether they had been in contact since Leonard and she first met.
Halfway there, Margaret suddenly called out, "I need to go home first."
She couldn't meet that woman in her current clothes. She had just had an argument with Layla at The Thorne Villa, and her clothes were dirty. She couldn't appear so disheveled.
At the very least, she needed to go home, take a shower, and clean herself up before facing the upcoming challenge.
She didn't want to argue with another woman over a man; she just wanted to understand the situation.
But she also subconsciously wanted to present her best self in front of that woman.
This thought was very contradictory, but she couldn't think of a better solution.
Leonard didn't refuse her request and drove back to Azure Waters Garden. Margaret stepped into the room and coldly said, "Wait here for me."
She quickly went into the bathroom, and after half an hour, she came out, dried her hair, put on makeup, and changed clothes, all within an hour.
People often say women take a long time to get ready, spending two hours just on makeup, but Leonard had never seen this with Margaret.
Margaret was very efficient, even when getting ready for work, she never took too long.
Moreover, Margaret had great skin, and even a light makeup made her look very beautiful.
When Margaret stood in front of Leonard again, she was wearing a white shirt and long jeans, with black stiletto heels.
She looked very clean and sharp, like an elegant and successful woman.
Margaret didn't want to appear as someone who only depended on Leonard in front of that woman. She wasn't a delicate girl; even without Leonard, she could live well on her own.
Leonard's eyes deepened when he saw her dressed like this. Margaret had never worn this style of clothing in front of him before.
They set off again, driving towards the mountains in the suburbs.
Margaret never expected that the woman would live in the mountains.
When the car reached a villa halfway up the mountain, Margaret's face became heavy.
People who could live in such a place must have a good family background. Although it was remote, it was a wealthy area.
The property prices here were very high, far beyond what Margaret could afford.
So Leonard's lover was a wealthy woman?
Realizing this, Margaret suddenly felt a bit discouraged. She seemed to understand why Leonard would be with such a woman.
He was a surgeon, and being with a wealthy person could change his social status and improve his life.
It did seem better than being with her.
Realizing she was subconsciously belittling herself and elevating the other woman, Margaret closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She shouldn't give up before even meeting the other woman!
Even if the other woman was rich, it wasn't an excuse for Leonard to cheat.
When they got out of the car, a woman was already standing at the villa's entrance, wearing a long dress with an embroidered jacket. Her black hair was tied up and fixed with a hairpin, giving her a serene appearance.
Margaret never expected Leonard's lover to be such a seemingly unworldly woman.
Why would someone like that become a mistress?
She couldn't understand, but as she walked up, her face remained confident.
Standing in front of the woman, Margaret extended her hand, "Hello, I'm Margaret, Leonard's wife."
The woman smiled and was about to shake her hand, but just as she reached out, Margaret withdrew her hand.
"I don't know why you want to be with my husband, but I can tell you that what you're doing is immoral. If you have any self-respect, you shouldn't interfere in someone else's relationship."
Margaret looked at the woman seriously and spoke each word clearly.
The woman's expression showed a hint of surprise, as if she didn't expect Margaret to say that.
"I already know about you and Leonard. If you two truly like each other, I can choose to step aside."
Leonard's face darkened when he heard her say she was willing to step aside.
"But even if I step aside, I still have to tell you that what you're doing is wrong, and I won't give you my blessing."
