*Suhas Pov*
I looked at the sleeping form beside me and thought how did I even think of marrying her so that I can live with her thinking her as Kavya.
Why didn’t I think that it is nothing but cruel if I do that? But I really wanted revenge and nothing else at that time. Only one thing was on my mind, which is when I visited my mom returning after two years, and she saw me with tears falling from her eyes.
I thought I would go and show them that I stayed back without contacting Kavya. But when I reached there, all my hopes just got thrown into some drainage as I get to know that she got married that too two years back.
If they really don’t want me for Kavya, they could have told me even with more strictness or at least follow the rule they kept properly.
Then nothing flashed except my mom’s tears which I swore will never form because of me when I was a kid.
I wanted revenge from them at any cost, and I only remember one thing that they love their second daughter more than anything from the words I got from Kavya.
And I thought I could never love anyone other than Kavya. If I say that I will not get married in my whole life then, I am sure it would have hurt mom even more. That’s when Navya entered my mind.
I thought it’s like two birds, no it is actually three birds with a stone. I will be married as per Mom’s wish and will also not regret it as she will be a carbon copy of Kavya and then when I take her away from her family my revenge will also be fulfilled.
But I didn’t know at that time how wrong I can be. Navya is nothing like Kavya and what is more surprising is that I am glad she is not.
My revenge is still on to take her away from them. And the dinner incident made it stronger, even more. She is better off without them.
When she trusts me even more than her family, then I will tell her the way they made her become mine just to save themselves, and I am sure she will understand my need for revenge when she knows everything.
The only thing that is going to change is she is not Kavya for me anymore, and she was not from the time I get to know her more after reaching Mumbai. She is Navya my wife.
She will never know that I behaved with her few days thinking her as her sister, and I am sure her sister will not say this to Navya like ever.
I again looked at the peaceful face and felt even more anger at her family. How could they make her miss everything in her life?
They actually don’t love her or feel protective of her. They just wanted someone in their hands to mold that person’s life. Which they did until all these years.
When she said that she was feeling sad for me that her family didn’t accept me, I felt sick to even disrespecting her these few days of her life without her knowing. And if she knows everything, then I don’t think I can breathe the next day.
Why do I feel this connection with her and that too so soon? I don’t know, maybe that’s the way she is, which makes everyone feel protective of her.
Then what about her family? Aren’t they feeling little guilty thinking, she is sad here just because of their selfishness? That’s what I want.
I want them to feel guilty of their whole lives, and I will not let them know that she is happy with me. This revenge will continue forever.
What is surprising me more is Kavya’s behavior? When she got to know about my dad and the way, she behaved according to me, I thought she was the most selfless girl I have ever known.
That was the moment when I felt respect towards her and then liked her. Then I fell for her and even wanted to marry her because I know she understands me and will not think like everyone else.
After knowing my plan, she still didn’t do anything. I told my plan completely to her when she came near to talk at the reception.
#Past Beginning#
“Suhas! I am really glad that you are taking care of my sister. I was right that you are a good guy and you can’t hurt anyone.” she said when I actually hung up the phone.
“What are you talking about?” I asked her confused and still looked outside the window.
“Navya told me about the New York plan. She is so happy Suhas and please don’t hurt her. Forget all this and start your new relation with her. You are a good-guy Suhas.” She replied.
Good guy? I am not a good guy. I am my father’s son so how can I be a good guy. Those two years I thought nothing but my Father’s memories because they are the reasons because of which I stayed away from my mom, and I had to prove my love like this.
After bearing that torture of nightmares I was fooled in the end. And she expects me to forget everything?
“I will never forget my revenge Kavya.” I said turning around.
“Look you wanted to show dad that you can become the family and rub it on his face which you did. What else do you need to do?” She asked me confused.
I laughed at her question and replied “That is not my plan at all. I will not tell you everything, but I will tell you the part which I am sure you would like to know.”
“What is it?” She asked frowning.
“Do you know your sister looks just like you? I mean you get the point right?” I asked her, and she nodded slowly.
“I will be with her my whole life, but the only difference is she will never be Navya for me. I will think of her as someone else.” I continued and smirked at her horrified expression.
“That is your plan from starting.” She mumbled.
“This is just half of it. And I am telling this exclusively for you so that you will wake up and live every minute, knowing what is happening with your sister.” I said and turned away from her.
When I heard the door closing, I have closed my eyes to clear this conversation from my mind for now.
#Past End#
I flinched at that memory and faintly heard Navya mumbling “What happened?”
“Nothing!” I said and kissed on her cheek, to which she smiled immediately.
“Good morning!” she said, opening her eyes.
“Good morning!” I said back and pulled her close to me, to which she blushed making me kiss her flushed cheeks.
She tried to remove herself from me, but I didn’t budge at all. I can totally understand her discomfort. However, I don’t want her to feel shy around me at all.
“Uhmm... I need to dress.” she mumbled again trying to remove my hand from her bare back.
“Why? Do we need to go somewhere?” I asked her kissing her nose.
“No…! But... is it good to stay like this?” she blurted out her question and immediately closed her eyes.
I kissed her eyes and said, “Open your eyes Navya.”
When she did, I smile and said, “Yes! We can stay like this, and if you want we can stay like this the whole day.” I said to which she blushed more and hid her face into my chest.
“So what shall we do now?” I asked her after a few minutes playing with her hand.
“Shall we play a game?” she asked excitedly forgetting all the shyness to which I am glad.
“Sure!” I replied, nodding.
“We need to tell each other one of our secrets." She said excitingly.
“This is a game?” I asked her frowning.
“Yeah! I played this yesterday with all the girls.” She replied.
“And do I look like a girl?” I asked her teasingly.
“Do only girls have secrets?” She asked back making me look at her in shock.
“Ok, you are right. Now tell me one of your secrets." I said smiling.
“I will tell you my biggest secret in my life, and you shouldn’t tell it to anyone because I didn’t tell it even to my family or friends.” She said whispering.
Looks like it is really a secret, and I nodded at her. She took a deep breath and said, “For nearly three years, I had a big crush on my IT lecturer.”
After saying that she looked at me waiting for my reaction. I smiled and asked, “Why?”
“Why!? Because he was so cute, and he always smiles at me so many times a day. Let me tell you his smile is the most beautiful one I have ever seen.” she replied dreamily.
I held her tightly to me and asked, “You are trying to make me jealous right?”
“What? Of course not! I am telling the truth and why would I try to make you jealous.” she replied in confusion.
I kissed her hard, and she kissed me back. After a few minutes, I released her and said, “Because I am feeling jealous of him.”
“You don’t have to be. You are my husband and my lover while he is just my crush. Now tell me you're one of the biggest secrets." She asked excitedly.
I thought for a few minutes and decided to tell her one thing, which popped in my mind. I looked at her and started saying, “One day when I was a kid of nearly fifteen years I returned home early only to stop in my tracks near the door. I saw my mom getting beaten by my dad. The same dad, whom I thought to be as my super hero. After a few minutes, he left her there and walked towards his room slamming the door. I went near her and saw a few bruises, and then it hit me that this is happening for a few years as I always saw them but when I asked her she would say she tripped or got burned while cooking.”
When I stopped there I saw that Navya is holding me tightly to her and looking at me wide eyed. I squeezed her hand and continued saying, “After that I tried to save mom as much as I can but a few times I got defeated and got hurt by him instead of her. I was okay because I get to save her. But one day when I was seventeen and quite confident, I walked towards him and said that he is wrong like I have been doing for two years but this time with authority. Then I was suddenly pushed on the wall and was beaten repeatedly. Mom heard my sounds and rushed there to stop him. That’s when she called the police and got him arrested as I got a concussion and fainted.”
I pressed my head on her heartbeat and hugged her tightly. She started rubbing my back making me gain some strength to continue.
“You need not have to.” she mumbled on top of my head.
“I want to!” I whispered on her heartbeat.
“After one year, he died in the jail itself. I didn’t cry at all, and I still don’t know why I didn’t. But when I started to go to college after recovering I want to hide myself from this world. They just started saying I will become just like my Dad. I tried to tell them I would never, but no one decided to give it even a small thought. It felt like they are expecting me to snap at any of them or do stupid things like my dad any second. No one was even ready to become friends for me except very few.” I said still laying in that position.
“Di was one of them.” she mumbled, making me tense, but she continued to rub my back with one hand and brush my hair with the other.
“Do you think I will behave like my dad with you? Everyone just always said that as I have his genes in my body, I will definitely act like him.” I asked her the doubt which was raised by everyone in my mind.
“You will never!” she replied confidently.
“How can you be so sure?” I asked her even though I know the answer will be like ‘You are different from him’. Because all my friends along with kavya said the same thing.
“Because you are raised by a wonderful woman, and I have faith in her bringing up and her qualities. His genes are present in your body, but along with her’s which I am sure must be very powerful that they must have covered his gene's way back. So you need not to worry at all.” She replied sending me into complete shock.
I looked up at her and kissed her slowly letting her know how I felt hearing that reply. We didn’t stop there and continued to repeat the yesterday’s actions.
The next few days were nothing but happy days for me. We both again roamed around the city, but this time with no destination in mind. We went wherever we want to and just enjoyed everything.
Finally, it was time for us to leave this city and return to our lives. Everyone was pretty sad while sending us off at the airport. Divya is not coming with us as she wants to spend some more time as a help for Becks and also because she is bored in Bhopal.
I held her close to me even while traveling and finally we reached Mumbai from Delhi, where we landed from New York.
I unlocked the door and pushed our luggage completely inside within seconds. She was about to enter, but I stopped her by lifting her into my arms and walked inside.
When I am locking the main door, she still in shock asked, “What are you doing?”
“This is our home!” I replied and walked into our bedroom.
“Yes?” she asked so that I will continue.
“And we will just start our second honeymoon here.” I replied, placing her on the bed, and then I lay beside her.
“Really?” she asked teasingly, which she started doing recently and damn she is really good at teasing.
“Let me show you then.” I replied kissing her.
I am feeling happy, and I am sure she is feeling happier than me….
