Chapter 55

Rebecca's POV.

We have accomplished so much in such a short time. I'm amazed at how everyone has come together on this. Even Liz is accepting of the past. Tomorrow the guys would go out and quietly get the rogues to the cells. Us girls were going to finish the shopping. All that would be left is to take down the enemies of the pack. Funny how that sounded so easy, I already know it's not going to be.

"Becca, there might be a problem. Jared is thinking the elders might be in on it. He's wondering if you can find out without saying anything yet. Do a memory share with them or something?" Izzy was asking me.

"I could do that, it's not too late to go out tonight. Maybe I can get Meriwether to come help, so I don't use up too much of my energy." I looked in Jared's direction and nodded.

There are nine elders in total. Who knows which one if not all could be involved, but it was time to go find out. I went over to Meriwether and touched her shoulder. It was just enough to share the thought with her. She was able to get Grant to make up an excuse to leave. Now for me and Jared. I just said we needed a run, and everyone accepted it. I think we'll start with Carlson. He always seems to be in charge of the elder meetings when I go.

I had come up with the excuse of needing guidance on what to do after graduation. It only took a couple minutes to find out that yes, the elders were involved. They all knew that with a new Alpha they would be replaced, so they signed on with Darius to ensure they would remain in their elder positions for good. There was one that didn't agree, but since they were out voted, they had no choice but to agree to go along with it. So, we only had one real stop to make, to go see Sharon.

It took another thirty minutes with Carlson explaining that what I did was my own decision, but he could go over all the choices with me tomorrow. Then we headed off to go see the only elder we needed to see. If I could just get her to come over to my parents' house, but I had to think quick because I was already knocking on her door.

"Oh, Rebecca, it's you. How can I help dear?" I had an idea.

"My dad sent me over to ask if you could come over to the house. I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with graduation planning. Luna Alexandria said you could probably help." I noticed she wasn't in the mood until I mentioned Alex.

"Of course, dear, just let me grab my purse. I'll meet you over there." Good, we might be able to convince her to help us.

"Okay I'll see you there then." Good, now to get there before her and warn everyone.

As soon as we got back to the house, I made Jack hide until we could explain things to Sharon. Liz went up with him so they could talk some more. Everyone hurried and cleaned up the house for our soon arriving guest.

"What's all this about Becca? Why the sudden urgency to get the Elders here?" Dad asked with curiosity.

"Actually dad, it's about the Elders need to be added to that list of yours. They're all in on it. The only one that didn't vote for Darius's plan, is of course Sharon. We might be able to get her help." I gave him that look of hope.

"Well okay then. That means you take the risk of your secret getting out though. Are you sure you want to do that." He seemed very skeptical.

"To protect my pack, and possibly others, I'm willing to do anything." Then came the knock on the door.

"Here goes nothing." Jared said as I went to go answer the door.

"Come in Elder Sharon. Welcome." I was going to let Dad start it off.

"Sharon, please come in. Thank you for coming. Won't you come into the kitchen and join us? Could I offer you something to eat or drink?" My dad, always polite.

"A soda would be nice, if it's no trouble." Formal talk, ugh.

After all the pleasantries were out of the way, we got down to business. The look of shock on Sharon's face when dad spoke the first words of business were almost priceless.

"Sharon, it has come to my attention that this pack is in danger of an attack. I know you know about this; I also know you don't want to be involved. I can give you details if you want, I can also give you our plan to stop this whole mess. Perhaps you would like to help us stop Darius and save everyone?" Everyone wanted to hear her response.

"How did you find out? There's no way, and there's no way to stop Darius, not now. He has too many rogues behind him. Not to mention that over the years he's managed to get witches and vampires in on his side as well. I would say he has an army of at least a thousand. With the rogues already in the pack, you can't touch Darius without one of them calling in for backup. He has everything already planned out. There's no way for us to even try and run. There are rogues all around us to make sure no one escapes." She seemed nervous as hell.

"I figured it out Sharon. I know how Jack took the blame for everything Darius did. Then when it came to the fire, everyone believed it was Jack and turned their back on him. I also know that Darius watched as his father burned to death and did nothing to save him. He's not going to stop Sharon. Not until he thinks he is the one with all the power. That means he will kill you and all the other Elders. We have a way to stop him. A challenge, to the death." I explained.

We told her everything we knew and all our plans to stop Darius. She didn't believe it could be done. She questioned everything we told her as though we have no idea what we're up against. For some reason she was scared to death.

"And who is going to be stupid enough to challenge Darius. Jack would have been the only one that could even come close to beating him. He hasn't been heard of in years. Even if you could find him, I doubt he would want to help. We banished him, remember?" Yeah, something has her wanting to run for the hills.

" Not only do we know where Jack is, but we also have two secret weapons. And I'm sure I can get both visiting packs to help us. So that's four packs, fighting Darius's army, Jack's included. Then we have the heir to the Moon Goddess and her mate. I know we can do this." My dad has so much faith in us.

"So, Jack is going to challenge Darius? Great, where is he?" She wants proof of something she's not fully understanding.

"He's not challenging Darius, I am." Jared stepped forward.

"You must be joking. Sending this human child to challenge an Alpha wolf. You all must have a death wish. There's no way I'm siding with you. Come to me with a real plan, maybe I'll think about it." She was about to get up when a look of terror came over her face.

I turned to find what could have scared her so bad, but I couldn't tell what it could have been. Then Jared walked up to the table and slammed a claw down in front of her. She just stared like she had seen a demon ready to attack her.

"Do I look like I'm a human? I'm going to challenge Darius, and I will defeat him. Do you still want to doubt me?" He was so sexy.

"You're, you're a wolf. How?" She was just as surprised as everyone was when we saw him only partially turn.

"I was born a wolf, not a human. Darius had my wolf stolen from me when I was just a pup. He had most of my family killed, now that I have him back, I plan on getting justice for them." I knew he could do it.

"You see Sharon, we will win. Isn't that right Becca?" I guess it was my turn.

"I have found out so much these past few days. One of those things, Darius is not who we thought he is. He's been planning on destroying this pack from the inside. We will stop him. You can choose to stick by him, or you can help us. The choice is yours, just make sure you pick the winning side." I started to glow a light blue just like Celeste. Sharon seemed to calm down almost instantly.

"You're the heir. So, it's true, you're really here to help them. Fine, what do you need me to do?" Could we really trust her.

"We have a list of rogues that are already in the pack. Right now, we're going through pack files to see if we can figure out anymore. If you know anything about Darius's attack plans, now would be the time to share."

We found out that Darius plans on sending both packs home Tuesday and the attack is set for the bonfire on Friday. Jack said the two packs could use the warehouse until then, and dad called both Alpha's and their Lunas to come over tonight. All we had to do was convince them to help. That shouldn't be too hard.
