Chapter 52 His Past (Part II)
On your 16th birthday, the status of our relationship changed. When you danced with Richard, your father’s close friend, I saw him touching you inappropriately. I wanted to intervene and kill him on the spot, but you escaped his clutches and headed to the restroom. The moment you came out of there and went to the balcony, I saw him follow you, and so I followed him. I witnessed him manhandle you and your cry of agony pulled at my heart strings and I decided to finish him off. I pulled out my gun, but even before I could point it at him, you shot him dead. I was both shocked and surprised to see that old fire back in you.
When I approached you after that incident, you hugged me, for the first time in years....
You put your trust in me and it filled me with wild happiness. And after that incident I understood that your old self will only come out when you are put in a helpless situation. But I had wowed to myself that I would never hurt you again no matter what, so I kept the murder a secret.
Two more years passed by and you turned eighteen. Up until that particular day, all I wanted to do was keep you safe and happy. But trust me, even I don’t know what happened to me when I saw you on your 18th birthday celebration.
I and your father were having a drink downstairs with others, while waiting for your arrival. When you came out of your room and clutched the side railing of the stairs, my eyes were automatically drawn to you. The moment I saw you descending the steps like a Goddess, wearing a floor length red gown, I fell head over heels in love with you.
I have never looked at anyone the way I have looked at you.
I have been with countless number of women before, but none of them had an effect on me like you had. I believed in love, but I never thought that I would find it. And I certainly didn’t expect to find it in you...
When you got down the last step and walked towards your father who was standing beside me, my heart raced like that of a teenage boy’s, who was being approached by his crush. And you looked absolutely mesmerizing with the open hair and the small tiara.
But the moment your eyes met mine, you must have sensed something, because you immediately lowered your gaze and moved away from me. I knew that I was a complete stranger to you that time and that knowledge just...broke my heart. It was crystal clear from your expression that I intimidated you and maybe even scared you.
I didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable with my presence anymore, so I stayed hidden in the shadows to watch you for the rest of the event. And every time I got a glimpse of your eyes, I fuking saw heaven!
I wished so bad to have the ability to freeze time so that I could walk up to you and stare into your captivating little emerald orbs to my heart’s content.
You appeared breathtakingly beautiful that night and I wanted nothing more than to close that distance between us, take you in a bone crushing hug, bury my face in the crook of your neck and love you till the end of time...
I was a king, with a powerful kingdom and loyal subjects, but I didn’t have a Queen. And after that night, I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect than you to take that throne beside me, as my Queen...
You were everything I have been searching for my whole life and I didn’t just want to protect you anymore, I wanted to make you mine. I became obsessed with you to a point where I felt that I couldn’t breathe without you. I wanted you to be mine, as my wife” Quisito finished with a hopeful sigh.
“If you loved me then why didn’t you admit it? why did you blackmail me? Couldn’t you just tell me all the truth before you put me through the treat? I would have come to you voluntarily if I had known everything...” Kate remarked angrily, as she leaned away from his chest, so that she could see his face.
“I wanted to...I really wanted to tell you the truth, even take you out on dates before I made a big move, but a meeting I had with your father a month ago changed everything”
