I looked at the ones I bought. I bought a little extra so that Tiarra wouldn’t run out of food. I bought biscuits, canned foods, milk and more. I also delivered a refrigerator so that other milk and frozen foods would not contaminate. As I was arranging the groceries, I remembered the contents of the card.
I opened Hugo’s card because my sister can’t. I needed a lot of money, so I wouldn’t have to open that card again. I was surprised at the amount of money on the card. I didn’t think it was a huge amount, so I still convinced myself that they might not notice that the money was deducted, so it was okay for me not to be detected.
But honestly, I want Hugo to find us. I wanted him to know that Tiarra and I were waiting for him, but because of what I did to him I knew that was vague. I want him to go to Tiarra one day, even if it’s not for me anymore.
I grabbed the two plastic bags, then went out to pick up Tiarra. As soon as I arrived, I could hear their loud laughter at home. Maybe she woke up while I was away, but I was wrong ...
Tiarra was hugging a man while she is sitting on his lap. I knew that man very well. For the past five years, I never thought his appearance would change much. He already has a beard and his body has also matured. His formerly deep eyes deepened even more. I think I’m going crazy because I just said I was ready for his coming, but now that he’s here, I feel like I want to run.
I dropped the two plastic bags because there were canned foods they sound; they turned around to me. The before loud laugh suddenly fell silent, and they all looked at me. I still haven’t recovered when Shiela suddenly took my things and whispered. “You! You’re not saying your husband is handsome!” She poke me in the side while I was stunned by the two of them and Tiarra. I can’t look him in the eyes. It’s been how many years. Raymond also left to follow Shiela.
“Mommy!” Tiarra dropped from her embrace with the man. I never missed that opportunity and picked her up, then quickly walked out the door. I thought we could enter the house, but when we were on the opposite side, suddenly someone grabbed my hand and there was no need to guess who it was. Tiarra stared at the two of us as her eyes widened and confused.
Will Tiarra be angry with me when she finds out that I hide her from her father for a long time? What if she will go with Hugo and they will leave me here? I hugged Tiarra even more because of the fear I felt. I’m not ready for his arrival yet. I thought because years ago I would be fine to face him and introduce that Tiarra is his daughter. I would just say that he should leave and he can’t take Tiarra away from me when Tiarra is the one who first talks.
“Mommy, are you mad at daddy because he hasn’t been home for a long time? Don’t be mad at him, please. He told me he had a lot of work to do, so he couldn’t go home.” I was surprised by what Tiarra was saying, but I was even more surprised by what she said. I turned to Hugo, who has tired eyes. I don’t know if he was tired from his trip or if he missed Tiarra and me for a long time. Tiarra touched my two cheeks, then turned to face her.
“Aren’t you happy that he’s here?” Because of her question, I could not answer. I feel mixed emotions now, but because I don’t want her to worry about me, I smiled at her and then shook my head. “Of course not. Mommy is just upset because daddy didn’t say he was going home because mommy couldn’t even cook.” Her two eyes lit up when she turned to Hugo.
We went inside. Hugo was not carrying anything. I don’t know when he found out I was living here because I am sure, impossible that the card is the reason. I just use it a while ago so that’s unlikely to be the reason. Fortunately, I was able to clean, and the house does not look dirty. I sat Tiarra on the sofa so I could cook. No one was speaking to us, so I turned on the TV.
I saw he was a bit uncomfortable in the pants he was wearing, so I entered the room before cooking. Fortunately, I bought jersey shorts because sometimes I get stuck in my shorts. I took it and gave it to him. He was still wondering because I also gave him that white T-shirt. It fit him because it was a huge t-shirt. I got used to wearing them when I started living here.
When he took off his clothes, instead of being ashamed, I was sad because of the scar left there because I stabbed him. Unbeknownst to me, my hands spontaneously moved and touched it. Tears formed at the corner of my eye, then I looked at him as if I regretted what I had done.
When he was about to touch me, I quickly left in front of him, then walked into the kitchen. I don’t want us to be okay right away because I can’t deny the sin I committed against him. Even if he says that it’s just not a big deal to him, that crack is engraved in the past of the two of us.
While I was cooking, I couldn’t get my mind out of what had happened and eventually we were still here. I was unaware that someone was approaching from behind me, then hugged me from behind. I could not move what he did. It was as if I had become a stump.
