Chapter 28: Mexico again

PLAYLIST: WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN ( PERCY SLEDGE )

When a man loves a woman, he definitely won't remain the same; his actions, reactions, attitude, mentality, and many other things could experience changes. If a man is genuinely in love, the most beautiful woman in the world couldn't take him away; maybe for a few days but not forever. — Eva Gabor

Assessing myself in the mirror, Hera had chosen a nude glitter eyeshadow that wouldn't reflect on my skin, and it made my neon eyes look big glass and shiny; I was, after all, escorting Jace to see his parents, what's the big deal.

Ona had chosen an effortless knee-length capped dress, black with a plunging neckline. It hugged my curvaceous body well, pairing it with black three-inch heels and a black pearl neckless. My large curls framed my face, preceding earrings and signature scarlet lips for losing flowing locks and less glitter. Izzy and my clothes by Ona deal with my makeup.

I've not even heard from kelvin for over seven months now. I've tried calling him countless times, but it's not reachable at all, and he didn't even care to contact me, and he calls himself my friend, so sad. But every since Jace came into my life, and it's making me go crazy. I had given all my dressing sense to attract the attention of Jace's parents.

"He's here," Izzy yelled, making sure I heard her.

Hearing the knock at the door, the butterflies erupted deep with my stomach, and I was anxious to see any fire of pleasure that looked in his eyes I had started to crave.

opening slowly, I can hear him on his phone. "Sí, mamá, estaré en mi vuelo pronto, solo Necesito recoger algunas cosas antes de venir, debería estar allí en una hora ..." oh, his tongue rolls according to his dialect. He turns around, and his mouth gapes. " mamá, Tengo que irme," he hangs up.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting," I say as I drink in his heavenly appearance. He was dressed in a black tuxedo, this and that. His neon eye was massive.

"Briellw... I... you... wow," with his response, my inner goddess flutters - it should, I shouldn't react this way.

"Shall we go now? You look dashing," I push, trying to get past the lust that was boiling up inside of me.

"You look wonderful," he breathes, the sound of a gulp hits my ears. "After you," Jace motions me with his hand. He was making Hera and Ona giggles beside the kitchen counter.

"Have a wonderous safe flight!" Hera reprimanded with a dashing smile. Her red hair was tied up in a ponytail.

"Same blessings here," Ona added with her mouth filled with cereal. I love them a lot and am so going to miss them. Ordinary Brie, pull yourself together. It's not as if I'm going to Mexico to be killed by Jace's mom, but at least cheer up, girl. I relax with a quick smile.

"Ok, bye, girls." Jace waved at them, and I did the same. As we both exit the door.

The car ride to the De Leon Mansion was intense. The butterflies and fearfulness in my stomach had me fidgetting in nervously. Feeling his eyes on me, I spoke nervously.

"Are you scared? I cursed my brain for not coming up with anything more intelligent to say.

"I'm very, very scared," he replied while sliding his hand to the first gate bell.

"why?" I inquired.

"Because I don't want my mother to make a fool out of me and you again." I meet his intimating inspection with sad checks and an inability to calm my nervousness down. Immediately, the first gate opened, then heading for the second. This mansion is so big that it can entertain more homes that can come here in Mexico to the squad for freedom.

"Please, Jace, you shouldn't say that. Don't worry about me. I'll manage if it's your mother. I won't budge."

"But it's the truth." the second gate opened, then we arrived at the big De Leon Castro Mansion, I don't know, but seeing the Mansion for the second time still get me wondering how much they do pay their servants, for chrissake, it is ten times bigger than the White House.

"I can see the sadness in your eyes," he commented with his hands on my shoulders, with a peck on my lip. The door flies open just as his lip caresses my cheek. I finally release the breath I'd been unknowingly holding in.

"Argh!" Jace's mother spat with a frown. I turn away in embarrassment as my eyes and her eyes lock. I felt Jace's face tense.

"Oh, viniste con Ella ... Ok, entra." Jace's mom, Mrs. Marcelita, spat with her brow arched. Apart from her lousy mouth and evil character, she's beautiful with her lavender eyes. We entered.

"Si Mami ella esta conmigo," Jace replied her. Why must they speak their dialect right now, gosh?

They are coming in handy with the tall, muscular man with grey hair, Mr. De Leon, Jace's father.

" Good day to you, Sir, And to you too, Ma." with trembling voice, I greeted.

with a smile, he replies. " Buenas Tardes Bonito." this made me smile because he welcomed me wholeheartedly, but I nodded my head to whatever he just said.

Mrs. Marcelita was just beside her husband with her arms crossed to her chest and her fit storming the ground.

"Buen día papá mamá." Jace reprimanded me as he gestured me to sit, which I did.

"¿Por qué la trajiste aquí? que esta haciendo aqui mi chico no te llamé ella." he spat, frowning.

"Basta, mamá, su Nombre es Sarah y ella es mi novia, solo sé amable con ella si no quieres que me vaya." now Jace is upset. Can these people speak English once? Does only God know if this woman is insulting me? Now I'm feeling uncomfortable.

"Marcelita querida, es Mejor que te detengas, ¿por qué la haces sentir inútil? ¿Te has dado cuenta de que está justo delante de nosotros? Mr. De Leon spat angrily at his wife.

"bien, pero no digas que no te lo advertí, ella solo está con nuestro hijo por su dinero." she spat rolling her eyes at me angrily.

I stood up immediately. "Perdóneme, señora Regina Alicante, no Estoy con su hijo por su dinero, estoy con él porque lo quiero mucho." And sat down back a little bit pissed off.

"¿tu hablas español?." Mrs. Marcelita questioned with eyes filled with horror. Mr. De Leon winked at me and went back to his formal sitting position, which was close to the big window. Jace was looking at me like I was a new car brand.

"My goodness me, you have been hearing all the awful things I've been saying?" she questions again with sadness hooked to her face, and her dark lavender eyes turned bright color.

With a bright smile, I reply. " Si"

" where are you from?" she takes to step closer to me, and Jace is still dumbstruck.

"Well, madam, my late dad is a Mexican man who his father disowned because he fell in love with an American woman. That's who I am. I'm a Latino-American." I held Jace's arm. He was staring at me none stop.

"Oh, What's the name of your father, if I may ask?" that was all that left Jace's mom's mouth. Her face was all tomato red, and her arm pulled the hem of her blouse.

"Lucas Damara," I said. Immediately, I felt her breath out in relief. then I added. " Well, that was the name he changed to when he went to American to be with my mom, his real name is Nieto Alvarez Damara." by saying my dad's full name, her relieved face was immediately messed up with fright and surprise at the same time.

"He's dead?" She opened her mouth to speak out another word, but immediately Mr. De Leon called on her.

"Come to me, Mi Corazon. Just let them be." Mr. Dario De Leon called his wife with a bright smile on his face. He's just so romantic, and I know he's doing this to mock his wife, he likes me, and he won't stop smiling when I speak Spanish.

She just turned around, still turning around to look at me with sadness in her eyes, but immediately she frowned at me and hissed, flipping her hair at me. It was kindly strange and childish. Jace just furrowed his eyebrow and held my hand.

Mr. Dario DE LEON  POV

"Stop spying on them, Carino( sweetie)." I reprimanded my wife, spying on Jace and Brie in the study room.

"I can't help it, Mi Amor. I don't feel attracted to this Sarah girl. She's too plain and... and... and... innocent for my boy. And most of all, she's just a middle-class girl." my stubborn wife replied as her watchful eye's remained on the young people in the study. " Look at them. They don't look perfect for each other. I can see it." she added.

I don't think so, I thought silently. I sighed and removed my gaze from the newspaper I was reading and stared at my lovely wife, who doesn't seem to understand her son's wish. "But you heard your son last time he came in with her, Dear. he won't get married to anyone except the pretty Señorita."

my wife just frowned and folded her arm to her chest. "I won't buy that crap that he said, Tino dear, this girl won't last with him. I'm telling you the truth. She's just a middle-class charity case for our son," she said stubbornly. I felt a little bit of anger flash in me. What is wrong with her and middle-class people. I surely know how to shut are up.

"Apart from this middle-class charity case you don't want for your son, what about the same situation of you and another Middle-class man you fell in love with years ago? Apart from the little girl from Jace's high school, when was the last time Jace brought a lady to our home? You can't see through your soon, he is the Eligible word bachelor who personally hired his assistant, and he has been fine. I heard from some of the directors singing her praises of how she did Jace's presentation which he forgot the manual in my room, she's a living grace, Marcelita dear, she made her son fall in love." she didn't answer me. I know it's because I mentioned that her first love was a middle-class man who loved someone else.

she raised her eyebrows in my direction. " Never! I know this is the second time he has introduced someone to us, but why her? From all the ladies in the world, he should have picked someone else. I even introduce someone like Jasira Beachwood, as classy and beautiful as she is. He didn't even budge."

"Well, my dear, I'm glad that he chooses to marry someone like her, and you are so blind that you didn't realize that this girl you abuse so much was the same girl that Jace brought home with him years ago." I reasoned out with her as I resumed my reading.

"And how did you know that she is the one? What are you saying? He hasn't even said he's getting married sooner or later," she said regretfully as she looked back to Brie and Jace in the study.

I know why he hates Brie so much because Brie is the daughter of the man she loves. This world is a small place. But he's dead now. Why blame the innocent child and punish her for her father's deed. I wish that Jace married her. I thought he finally stood up to his right for once. I'm no match for my wife because she's a wild cat. Ximena is nothing like her mother. Jace is a bit like his mother, just Enrique that looks and acts like his father's son. I lowered the newspaper. I was busy pretending to read and staring at my wife blankly.

immediately she eyed me as if I was the cause of all her problems. "Really? Honey, what makes you think that way?" she smiles grumpily in my direction, her eyes turning into a dark shade of mixed colors; I am her husband. Still, sometimes I don't get the exact color of her eyes, occasionally lavender, sometimes mixed lavender.

"I think so because I'm getting older, and I want to hold my grandkids before I die." I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Too bad, I don't know why you like this girl so much, Tino." she frowns as I stand beside her watching the young lovers playing like children. I've never seen this side of Jace since he completed sixteen. Now he's thirty, and a woman is turning him into a smiling Jace that I once knew. I have to admit seeing the sparkles in my son's eyes, the glimmers of love. The attraction that Jace is not fighting, I know that my son loves sleeping around. Still, he is not the type that falls in love or, left alone, seduces his employee. I don't need to investigate more about her, and I approve of their relationship; even if it leads to marriage, I will double approve it.

"Are you even listening to me, dear?" The slightly irritated voice of my wife dragged me out of my reverie.

"Of course, Mi Angelito," I replied smoothly with a genuine smile as I drank from her blossom face.

"No, De Leon dear, you were not even listening." she chided. "As I said, I will not approve of them. I'll look for a good wife for him, well my friend's daughter Maite Perez, she's a sweet girl, she'll be back from England next two weeks."

"You won't dare, Mi Angelito." I couldn't help but raise my eyebrow while I glanced at my determined, stubborn wife.

"Just watch me try," she smirks evilly at me.

"I love to see that your plan ruined, Mi Amor," I started placing my hand on her shoulders, watching our future daughter-in-law and the groom. They look perfect together. Why can't she see it?

"You have my word on it, darling..." my wife announced arrogantly; her eyes glanced in the sunlight surveying the couple. "Goodness me, they are kissing," she yelled in a low, frightened voice.

I smiled sincerely from my heart. " Dear, what did you say again?" I questioned her in a mocking voice. "I don't think we should be watching them," I told her but shifted her position to get a better view, her eyes wide in shock horror.

" Wow, shocker, right?" I added.
